Film Making SUMMER SCHOOLLAL Berkhamsted - Digital Summer School

Students take their usual 15 hours of English tuition in the mornings to help improve their General English. They will also have seven additional sessions in afternoons focusing on the following topics :

• Storyboarding• Script writing• Camera technique• Shooting• Editing

Students will have access to Berkhamsted School’s modern editing facilities, while LAL will provide an experienced film tutor. Each two week course offers 7 tuition sessions plus an excursion to the Warner Brothers Harry Potter Studio.

This course is designed for students who have shown an interest in film-making and are considering a career behind the camera.

Teachers

• All of our teachers are native speaker standard (for legal reasons, LAL cannot guarantee teachers will be

native speakers)

• Minimum requirement of CELTA or Trinity Cert TESOL (or equivalent)

Classes & Classrooms

• Maximum 15 students

• Large, spacious classrooms, some with interactive whiteboard technology

• Centrally located classrooms

• Students tested on arrival and at the end of their course to check progress

• International mix of students

• 15 hours per week (mainly mornings, see our course timetable)

Course Objectives

• Students will learn and use basic video camera and editing techniques.

• They will also improve their creativity in film creation and take part in shooting a short film to be shown to the rest of the school.
