Introduction
The land that we now know as Utah has been the home to many different kinds of people. Historians believe that Utah was first inhabited over 12,000 years ago by the Paleo-Indians. Over the next several weeks we will be learning about the different people who have lived in Utah. We will establish when they lived in Utah, how they lived and survived, and how each group contributed to the history and establishment of Utah as a state. After we have learned about the different groups of people who lived in Utah each student will research a specific person of importance. Often we can better understand a time period when we learn about specific people. After you have researched, the important person, you will write a report, and prepare a presentation to share what you have learned.
