• 100% Extension Appointment- Enhance existing extension program and expand the outreach of Purdue to the Commercial Nursery and Landscape Industry. Co-chair of education at the Indiana Green Expo, as well as Director of Education of the Indiana Nursery and Landscape Association. Writes regular columns for Indiana Nursery and Landscape News (INLA’s monthly trade magazine), as well as speaks at local, regional, and national conferences, meetings, and workshops. Three main research projects include: ‘Evaluation of the influence of postemergence herbicides and fertility on nursery tree bark cracking’, ‘Effect of postemergence herbicide on sucker removal/injury on nursery tree liners’, and ‘Effect of herbicides and grass groundcover on cold hardiness of field tree liners’.

• Primary Research- Examined various aspects of asexual propagation to four cultivars of Vaccinium corymbosum, including the use of hormones and location of cuttings with regards to time. Another study included the investigation of weed management in an established orchard of Vaccinium corymbosum ‘Bluejay’ (highbush blueberry) in South Central Kentucky.
