Data Warehouse Tip Sheet
Install Interactive Reporting Web Client
Take the following steps to install the Interactive Reporting Web Client from your Windows 7 PC.
Browser Requirements 1) First, you’ll need Internet Explorer 8 (IE8). Internet Explorer 9 is not supported at this time. 2) Next, open IE8 and make the following adjustments:
o Select Internet Options from the Tools menu o Click the Security tab, and then click on the Trusted Sites icon (Figure 1) o Now, make sure that Enable Protected Mode is not checked (Figure 1)

o Add the following as trusted sites: Click on the Sites button (Figure 2)

• Enter each trusted site separately; click the Add button after entering each (Figure 3). Click Close when you’re done. Trusted site:
o https://dw.rpi.edu

o Next, you’ll need to make an adjustment to the way IE8 handles menus.

o From the Security tab in the Internet Options window, select the Trusted Sites icon, and then click the Custom level… button (Figure 4)

o In the Security Settings – Trusted Sites Zone window, scroll down to Miscellaneous and then click Enable under Allow script-initiated windows without size or position constraints (Figure 5)
o Click the OK button o Finally, click Apply and then click OK again to exit Internet Options

3) Login to the EPM Workspace • EPM Workspace production URL: https://dw.rpi.edu/workspace/index.jsp • Enter your (existing) data warehouse username and password in the login page (Figure 6)

• After you login, you’ll be on the Workspace page • Install the IR plug-in from this page:
o Select Tools, and then Interactive Reporting Web Client from the Install menu (Figure 7)

• Begin the installation o If you see a warning regarding running an add-on, click OK in the warning window, and
then click the warning message to allow it (Figure 8)

• After you click the warning message, if prompted, click Install This Add-on for All Users on This Computer… (Figure 9)

• Click Yes to any prompts from User Account Control regarding making changes to your computer
o There may be two of these prompts: one from Oracle, and one from EPM • The installation will take approximately 8-10 minutes to complete; the installation will
display it’s progress (Figure 10)

• When the installation has finished, click OK (Figure 11)
