Welcome to
the Cosmos
Uncountable eons ago, at the dawn o a orgotten age, a raceevolved at the heart o a spiral galaxy. Later, they would come to
be known as the Precursors. Tey were the rst intelligent lie inthe universe, and they were alone.
Teir technology was nothing short o miraculous, and it allowedthem to explore the universe as they sought out other sentient be-ings. However, their search was in vain.
Feeling the weight o their solitude, eventually the Precursorssent out probes to thousands o inhabitable planets. Each probecontained the seeds o lie, with the hope that sentience wouldeventually ollow.
Ater that, no one knows what happened to them. Perhaps they ellvictim to some unknown threat, or perhaps they simply evolved be-
yond this universe. In any event, by the time the probes childrenbegan to master space travel, the Precursors were gone.
Tey let behind a mighty legacy, however. At the edge o eachsolar system where they planted one o their seeds, the Precursorslet a cache o technology and a hyperspace gate. Trough this git,their children could nd and communicate with each other.
And so they began to do so. Although the younger races did not
completely understand the Precursors technology, they were ableto use it easily enough. O course, without the guiding hand o theelder race, the younger races soon ell to squabbling among them-selves. Eventually this gave rise to the current age the Cosmic Age.

Example: Te Zombie (green) is the oense and has drawn adestiny card instructing him to attack the Clone (red). He places
our ships in the hyperspace gate and points it at one o the Clonesplanets that contains two deending Clone ships. Te Zombie asksboth the Oracle (yellow) and the Sorcerer (blue) to be oensiveallies. Te Clone asks only the Oracle to be a deensive ally. TeOracle (to the let o the Zombie) has two oers. She chooses to ally
