1. How do I get started? Logging into the AIM: ALSE Identity Management Portal: Enter https://aim.alsde.edu into the

address line of your browser. You will be presented with a screen similar to the following. Click

the College and Career Readiness tile:

2. How do I use the CCR Dashboard? If you have the proper credentials, you should see a tile labeled “CCR College and

Career Readiness”. Click the tile. You will be presented a screen similar to this:

Select the desired Base Year, System, School & Sub Population from the drop down lists and click ‘Submit’. Note: Depending on your access level, the drop down lists may be limited to certain schools and systems. Drop down list descriptions:

The School Year – Contains three columns: o Cohort Year – This is the year that the student entered the 9th grade for

the first time (Base Cohort) o Grad Year – The graduating year of the Base Cohort (4 years) o Official Cohort – Identifies whether updates are still taking place for that

year. False means data for that cohort is being updated daily via Accumulator processing. True means that processing has ended for that cohort.

School System o LEA users will see the school system(s) to which they are assigned in the

Education Directory (Ed Dir) o ALSDE users will see all school districts and will have a statewide option

School o Will be filtered to the schools present in the School System selected in the

step above

The sub population consists of the following: o All Students o American Indian or Alaskan Native o Asian o Black of African American o Female

Each of the gauges represent the following according to the items selected in the drop down lists: Enrollment:

Overall – The percentage of all students meeting any Assessment benchmark of those with a matching test score.

ACT – The percentage of all students meeting any ACT benchmark of those students taking ACT test.

IB – The percentage of all students meeting any International Baccalaureate benchmark of those students taking IB courses.

AP – The percentage of all students meeting any Advanced Placement benchmark of those taking AP courses.

ACT Work Keys – not available yet

College Credit – The percentage of all students designated as meeting college credit CCR benchmark.

Career Tech Credential – The percentage of all students designated as meeting Career Tech CCR benchmark.

Military - The percentage of all students designated as meeting military CCR benchmark.

Graduates:

Overall – The percentage of graduate students meeting any Assessment benchmark of those with a matching test score.

ACT – The percentage of graduate students meeting any ACT benchmark of those students taking ACT test.

IB – The percentage of graduate students meeting any International Baccalaureate benchmark of those students taking IB courses.

AP – The percentage of graduate students meeting any Advanced Placement benchmark of those taking AP courses.

ACT Work Keys – not available yet

College Credit – The percentage of graduate students designated as meeting college credit CCR benchmark.

Career Tech Credential – The percentage of graduate students designated as meeting Career Tech CCR benchmark.

Military - The percentage of graduate students designated as meeting military CCR benchmark.

To see the numeric value of each of the gauges, hover the cursor over the desired gauge for several seconds. The numeric percentage will be displayed. The numeric indicators beneath the gauges indicate the number of students that are in the population (the denominator) and the number of students meeting the CCR benchmark (in the case of the Assessment data). The INow ‘In Population’ count is the student population selected by the drop down lists. This count is displayed at the bottom of the main grid. *Note: School year 2013-2014 is the first year the ACT was administered to all 11th grade students in the State of Alabama.

Immediately under the gauges you will find a data grid containing the student level data that makes up the totals reported in the gauges. The base view of the data grid contains the following columns:

These fields will contain “Yes/No/blank” which will correspond to checked/unchecked/null values in the INOW checkbox fields.

3. How do I use the main data grid? If desired, the grid can be customized by choosing which columns are displayed using the ‘Field Chooser’. Use the ‘Select Fields’ button to open the field chooser. The customization window displays headers of hidden columns. To hide a column, end-users should drag its header to the customization window. ● To hide a grid column, drag its header to the customization window. ● To make a column visible, drag its header from the customization window back to the Grid's header panel. The Grid allows you to sort data displayed within an unlimited number of columns. The column's current sort order is indicated by a sort glyph (▼) displayed at the column header's right edge. If the column isn't sorted, the sort glyph is hidden. Click the column's header to sort data against a data column or change the column's sort order. To sort data against multiple columns, click column headers with the SHIFT key pressed down. The Filter Row allows an end-user to filter data by typing text directly into the row. A filter condition can be applied automatically based on the value entered. The filter condition can be selected from the context menu, which is invoked by clicking a filter row button.

A Group panel displays headers of data columns involved in data grouping. End-users can group data by dragging column headers onto it.

Group rows are used to organize data rows into a tree when data grouping is applied. A group row contains a group expand button that enables end-users to expand and collapse the group row, as well as show or hide its child rows. Group rows can also display group summary values.

The Pager enables end-users to navigate through Grid data. It consists of navigation buttons: "next", "last", "previous", "first", an indicator that displays the current page number, the total number of pages, and page size item allowing end-users to specify the number of items displayed on a page.

4. How do I download data to local files? To download the grid’s data to a file on your local machine, first select the columns and data desired then position the cursor over the “Export to XLS” button just above the data grid. A dialog box will appear asking if you would like to Save or Open the file
