    Celebrating United's 85th Anniversary

    Celebrating United

On April 6, 1926, a Swallow biplane carrying U.S. mail touched down in Boise, Idaho

-- marking the first flight for Varney Air Lines and putting history in motion for both

United and Continental. While Varney Air Lines went on to become United, its

founder Water T. Varney later established Varney Speed Lines, which transformed

    into Continental.

This shared history of aviation leadership still connects United and Continental co-

workers today as we work together to build the new United. Here, you can view

photos that capture our company's rich history.

Share Your Stories & Photos about United

If you have photos that illustrate our company's accomplishments -- past or present

-- you can submit them to [email protected] or [email protected]. The first 250 co-workers who submit a photo will receive a small gift to celebrate

United's anniversary -- and we'll add the best pictures to this gallery. And at the

bottom of this photo gallery, you can use the "Tell Us What You Think" area to share

    your favorite stories about United.
