احتفلت جمعية برج اللقلق المجتمعي يوم األربعاء الرابع من اذار بافتتاح ثالثة مشاريع انشائية جديدة في مقر الجمعية ممثلة بحديقة الى باإلضافة الحسيني عدنان المهندس القدس شؤون وزير بحضور وذلك الجمعية، وخيمة المبادرات وحديقة غيث طالل الشهيد

كوكبة مشرفة من المؤسسات الرسمية الفلسطينية والمؤسسات االهلية وأصدقاء الجمعية والمانحين. وانطلق االحتفال بافتتاح األرض الجنوبية حديقة الشهيد طالل غيث من خالل عدنان الحسيني وممثل مؤسسة التعاون خالد الداودي ورئيس جمعية برج اللقلق المجتمعي ناصر غيث، ومن بعدها توجه الحضور كافة إلى األرض الجنوبية »حديقة المبادرات« الفتتاحها واالطالع عليها وفي نهاية الجولة قام وزير شؤون القدس وممثلة CRDP وممثل التعاون ورئيس الجمعية بافتتاح الخيمة ودعوة كافة

الحضور للدخول لالطالع على االعمال االنشائية التي تمت بها.بالحضور رحب الذي ادكيدك منتصر الجمعية مدير من ترحيب بكلمة الرسمية الحفل مراسم انطلقت الثالث المواقع افتتاح وبعد المنطقة في مشاريع ثالثة افتتاح وهو للجمعية األهم الحفل في الجمعية جانب إلى والوقوف والتواجد الحضور على وشكرهم كافة

n the presence of the Minister of Jerusalem Affairs Burj AL Luq Luq Completes 3 Construction Projects

Burj Al Luq Luq Social Center Society celebrates completing three construction projects in Burj Al Luq Luq on Wednesday 4th March, represented in the Martyr Talal Gaith Garden, the Initiatives Garden and Burj Al Luq Luq Tent. The Minister of Jerusalem Affairs, Adnan Al Husseini, attened the ceremony in addition to a number of official and civil Palestinian associations, Burj Al Luq Luq friends and donors. The ceremony started with opening the Martyr Talal Gaith Garden then the Initiatives Garden by Adnan Al Husseini, the Welfare representative Khalid Al Dawoudi, and Burj Al Luq Luq Chief of Board Members, Nasser Gaith. At the end of the tour, Al Husseini, the CRDP representative and Gaith opened the Tent and invited all the visitors to enter the Tent to see the changes. Afterwards, Burj Al Luq Luq Executive Manager, Muntasir Edkaidek, started the official ceremony with a welcoming speech in which he thanked the audience for supporting Burj Al Luq Luq and attending the most important ceremony for completing three construction projects in the southern area of Burj Al Luq Luq which equals 4 acres. This was followed by a speech for Gaith in which he thank the associations supporting Burj Al Luq Luq projects, especially the Tent project which is funded by CRDP, and the gardens projects funded by the Welfare association. Moreover, he assured that the society will continue its hard work in order to care for Burj Al Luq Luq land from being confiscated and judaized. He also pointed that the society’s programs will remain a method to care for the Jerusalemite youths and children. Then, the audience stood for the Palestinian national anthem followed by a speech for the Minister of Jerusalem Affair, Adnan Al Husseini, in which he expressed is joy and satisfaction to be in a Jerusalemite society that has this kind of work and achievement in the field. He assured that Burj Al Luq Luq is an example of resistance in Jerusalem. The audience watched a short film about Burj Al Luq Luq and a slide show that included all the renovated locations in the society, in addition to the programs and projects the society provides for Jerusalemite youths.Moreover, the representative of the Welfare Association, Khaled Al Dawoudi, assured in his speech that the Welfare Association has been trying to reserve the identity of Burj Al Luq Luq for nine years through its continuous support to the society and its members by programs and projects that support Jerusalem. He also pointed to the great and periodical support of the Jerusalemite businessman Munir Al Kalouti and the Arab Fund for Development. On the other hand, Nada Nabris, the representative of CRDP thanked Bur Al Luq Luq for organizing the ceremony and for its continuous support while executing the event. She also assured the the CRDP is proud to execute the project of Burj Al Luq Luq tent because it is very important for the society and the residents of Jerusalem. At the end, Adnan Al Husseini, Safa Nasser Al-Din and the board members of Burj Al Luq Luq honoured the Welfare Association, CRDP, The Six Brothers Company, in addition to engineer Lina Al Disi from the Welfare Association, the engineer Muath Shuqair from Burj AL Luq Luq and the project supervisor, Mohammad Al Qawasmi.

مجموعة المرشد الشاب تجول اللد والرملة ويافا ضمن مشروع شبابك يا قدس

الى المجموعة توجهت حيث القدس، مدينة أبناء من وطالبة طالباُ 45 بمشاركة اذار 13 الموافق الجمعة يوم صباح الجولة انطلقت منطقة اللطرون وتم عمل مسار بسيط في المنطقة وقام المرشد خليل صبري بإعطاء المشاركين فكرة عن المنطقة واهميتها واهم المعارك التي دارت على األرض. ومن ثم توجهت المجموعة الى مدينة اللد الساحلية وزيارة كنيسة الخضر والمسجد المجاور لها ومن

ثم مدينة الرملة الكتشاف مسار في المدينة وزيارة بركة العنزية والمسجد األبيض.ومن ثم انطلقت المجموعة إلى قرية الحرم )هرتسيليا( حيث تفقدت المجموعة مسجد سيدنا علي القديم المبني منذ 1300 عام، وقام المرشد خليل صبري امام المسجد بإعطاء المجموعة شرح عن كيفية ترميم المسجد وان اجزاء منه قد تعرضت للهدم بفعل العوامل

الطبيعية. وأشار بأن السكان العرب يقومون بزيارته بشكل مستمر حيث ال يوجد أي ساكن عربي بالقرية المهجرة.وانتهت الجولة في مدينة يافا الفلسطينية التاريخية، حيث قام المرشد بتنظيم جولة في االحياء والمواقع التاريخية الفلسطينية في

المدينة وتعريف المرشدين على االحياء واسمائها والقرى المحيطة بمدينة يافا التاريخية.

The Young Guide Group Tours in Al Lid, Al Ramleh & Yafa within Shababek Ya Quds Project

The group toured on Friday the 13th March with the participation of 45 male and female Jerusalemite students. They went hiking in a path in Al-Latron with the guide Khalil Sabri who gave them a historical brief about the area in addition to its military significance and the most important battles which took place over there. Then the group went to the Al Lid and visited Saint George Church and the near mosque and then they headed to Al Ramleh to discover another path and visited the Pool of Arches Aneziyeh and the white mosque. Then the group headed to the village of Al Haram (Hertzilya) and visited Sidna Ali Mosuqe which was built 1300 years ago. There, Sabri explained how the mosque was renovated after some parts of it were destroyed due to natural causes. He pointed that Arabs visit the mosque regularly as there are no Arab inhabitants in the village.The visit ended in Yafa where the guide organized a tour in which they discovered the historical Palestinian sites in addition to the names of neighborhoods located near Yafa.

“The World is a Mother” Mother’s & Land Days

Burj Al Luq Luq Social Center Society organized a celebration in the occasion of Mother’s and Land days with the participation of a number of Jerusalemite mothers who were happy to see the different cultural and social activities. Sanbel theater performed a sketch called “Ahla Aila” which tackled the daily life of Jerusalemite families. This was followed by a 3 Dabkeh performances by Shumu’ band. Moreover, two girls from Al Nahda School said a poem about mothers. At the end of the celebration, kindergarten students did a singing performance about mothers which was followed by giving symbolic gifts to mothers.

وجوة على والبسمة االمل وزرع الدعم تقديم الى هدفت والتي وأمل« جسور « مبادرة ب: االيتام مدرسة الثامن الصف -االطفال المرضى بمرضي السرطان والكلى.

في العلوية الساحة وتفعيل استغالل الى هدفت حديقتي«والتي »مدرستي مبادرة أ: االيتام مدرسة ب التاسع الصف -المدرسة واعطاء المدرسة منظر جمالي.

Four Community Initiatives Executed within “Al Quds Ambassadors” Project

Burj Al Luq Luq Social Cetner Society executed four community initiatives for a number of Ministry of Education schools. The initiatives come within Learn & Play project executed by Burj AL Luq Luq, Pal Vision and Al Sayara, with the support of the NDC and the funding of the World Bank. However, the initiatives change depending on the goals each class aims to achieve.

-The 9th grade – Al Aytam School B: “The Corners of Jerusalem Through History” initiative which aims to inform the Arab community about the most important Islamic monuments in Jerusalem.

-The 8th grade – Al Aytam School B: “Bridges & Hope” initiative which aims to support cancer and kidney patients and bring hope and happiness to their lives.

-The 9th grade B – Al Aytam School A: “My School is My Garden” initiative which aims to exploit the upper yard and give the school an aesthetic view.

-The 9th grade A – Al Aytam School A: “Our Youths Are Tomorrow’s Hope” initiative which aims to give a space for children to practice their essential extracurricular

Psychological Support Meetings for Sports Teams

Burj Al Luq Luq Social Center Society Organizes a monthly support meeting for males and females who are members of football and basketball teams in the society. These meetings are organized within “Learn & Play” project executed by the society and funded by the Pontifical Mission in Jerusalem. During the February meeting, they discussed the subject of media which aimed to let them observe the most important characteristics of their favourite audible, visual and written media materials. They also identified the messages they think media tries to convey and how people differ in their understanding of the same media messages.

احتفلت االكاديمية الفلسطينية للموهوبين كرويا وجمعية برج اللقلق المجتمعي باختتام دورة التدريب التنشيطية بكرة القدم للفئات المساندة التي اشرف عليها الخبير االسيوي وليد فطافطة، وذلك يوم السبت في خيمة جمعية برج اللقلق المجتمعي وبحضور رئيس رابطة االندية المقدسية احمد سرور وعضو مجلس ادارة االتحاد الفلسطيني لكرة القدم محمد ابو صوي وعضو مجلس ادارة تجمع قدسنا لالتحادات الرياضية يوسف فتيحة والرئيس الفخري لألكاديمية الفلسطينية حسني ابو ميالة وعضو اتحاد الوسط بكرة القدم خالد الصياد ورئيس مجلس ادارة جمعية برج اللقلق ناصر غيث ورئيس االكاديمية الفلسطينية فراس ابو ميالة ورئيس نادي الصحفيين المقدسيين محمد زحايكة والمدير التنفيذي لجمعية برج اللقلق منتصر ادكيدك ومدير البرنامج الرياضي في الجمعية نهاد الزغير ومدير االكاديمية الفلسطينية اشرف النتشة واعضاء الهيئة االدارية لألكاديمية

انتصار سالمة وسهاد مراغة ومنذر الرجبي وموظفي مستشفى المقاصد وياسر وتيسير عياد وجموع المدربين المشاركين.انطلق الحفل بكلمة ترحيب بالحضور والمدربين من االعالمي المقدسي المتميز منير الغول الذي رحب بالمدرب فطافطة لحضوره وتلبيته للدعوة من االردن الشقيق، كما رحب الغول بالشخصيات الرسمية الممثلة للحراك الرياضي المقدسي والفلسطيني وكذلك المدربين على التزامهم في

الدورة على مدار االيام الثالثة المحددة.الفعاليات لكافة حاضنة تكون بان تتشرف المجتمعي اللقلق برج بان أكد غيث ناصر المجتمعي اللقلق برج جمعية لرئيس الختام كلمة وفي الطرقات عن وابعادهم عليهم للحفاظ المستمر العمل منا يستحقون المقدسي والشباب المقدسية الرياضة وبأن القدس مدينة في والنشاطات وعن اآلفات السلبية ولكي نحافظ على االطفال علينا ان نحافظ على كفاءة وقدرات المدربين وان نطورهم ونحفذهم ليكونوا خير قدوة ألطفالنا

Burj Al Luq Luq & the Palestinian Academy Celebrate Ending a Training Course for 15 Jerusalemite Trainers

Under the Supervision of the Asian Lecturer Fatafta and with the participation of a number of Palestinian Associations.

Burj Al Luq Luq Social Center Society and the Palestinian Academy for Talented Footballers celebrated ending the refresher football training course under the supervision of the Asian Lecturer Walid Fataftah on Saturday 7th March in Burj Al Luq Luq tent. The head of Jerusalem Clubs Federation, Ahmad Srur, the administrative member of the Palestinian Football Federation, Mohammad Abu Sway, the administrative member of Qudsuna Group, Yousef Fteiha, the Honorary Head of the Palestinian Academy, Husni Abu Mayyaleh, in addition to other heads, managers and members like Khaled Al Sayyad, Naser Gaith, Mohammad Zahaykeh, Muntaser Edkaidek, Nihad Zughayyar, Ashraf Al Natsheh, Intisar Salameh, Suhad Maragha, Munther Al Rajabi, Al Maqased Hospital Staff and other participated trainers. The ceremony started with a welcoming speech by the talented media-man Munir Al Ghoul who welcomed Fataftah who came from Jordan. He also welcome the official figures who represent sports in Jerusalem and Palestine, in addition to the trainers who were committed throughout the training. Burj Al Luq Luq Chief of Board Members, Nasser Gaith, assured in his speech that Burj AL Luq Luq is proud to be the incubator for all the activities in Jerusalem. He added that the Jerusalemite sports and youth deserve our hard work to preserve them and keep them away from negative effects. He explained that in order to protect our children, we have to preserve the capability of our trainers. At the end of the ceremony, Walid Fatafta, in addition to participants and trainees were honoured.

والثقافة والمعرفة في جميع مجاالت الحياة المختلفة. وبعد النقاشات واللقاء المفتوح مع الشباب والمؤسسات المقدسية نظم مشرف النشاطات الرياضية في الجمعية نهاد الزغير تعريفا للزوار على الجمعية ومرافقها في عرض يوضح الموقع قديما وحديثا من خالل صور تم عرضها تقارن وضع البرج اليوم والبرج سابقا، كما أشار الزغير الى دور شباب برج اللقلق الفعال في القدس والبلدة القديمة خاصة، اذ تم تشكيل وحدة طوارئ خاصة بالبرج تحدت الظروف الصعبة خالل موجه الثلج

الماضية. وفي نهاية اللقاء رافق الزغير الزوار في جولة حول مالعب البرج ومرافقه تبعتها زيارة الى المسجد األقصى المبارك للمبعوث هنداوي.

UN Envoy Al Hindawi Visits Burj Al Luq Luq

Burj Al Luq Social Center Society received UN Envoy Ahmad Al Hindawi on Monday 2nd March in the cultural beacon of Jerusalem in the society. This was in coordination with the UNFP, in the presence of the director of the UNFP, Burj Al Luq Luq executive Manager Muntaser Edkaidek, Ziyad Yaish, Sima AL Alami, Nihad Zugayyar, in addition to managers and representative from Pal Vision, Youths Development, Caritas, besides a number of Jerusalemite students. They discussed the circumstances of Jerusalemite youth and what they daily go through due to the Israeli occupation. In return, Al Hindawi wanted to be briefed about the achievements of youths in Jerusalem. At the beginning, Edkaidek welcomed the envoy and the attendance, and he briefed them about the society and the challenges it faces. Then he started the discussion between the attending associations and the envoy in which he tackled a number of issues like education, values, volunteer work and the economical situation in Jerusalem. The envoy discussed the challenges faced by Jerusalemite youths with a number of Jerusalemite male and female students who, on their behalf, expressed the need of focusing on education because it is the source if awareness and knowledge in all fields of life.After the open discussion, the supervisor of athletic activities in the society, Nihad Zughayyar, talked about the society and made a comparison through presenting a number of old and new pictures of the location. He also referred to the important role of Burj Al Luq Luq youths and how they contributed in forming an emergency unit in the society, which challenged the difficult circumstances during the snowstorm. At the end of the meeting, Zughayyar took the visitors for a tour around the location and its facilities, and it was followed by a visit to al Aqsa mosque.

الردايدة وطاقم المديرية وعدد من المرشدين التربويين وأولياء األمور والطلبة.واستهل الحفل بكلمة مدير التربية سمير جبريل الذي رحب بالحضور وقدم شكره لكافة األطراف التي دعمت المشروع وانتجت هذه المدونة خاصة لجنة كويتيون من أجل القدس وجمعية مركز برج اللقلق وقسم االرشاد والتربية الخاصة في المديرية والمرشدين والطلبة واولياء االمور. وأكد ان المديرية ومن خالل هذه المدونة تسلط الضوء على قضية حساسة وّافة يمكن أن تدمر المجتمع بأكمله، مشيرا بأن المخدرات تتجاوز في

دمارها حدود المدمن والمتعاطي وحده لتؤدي ايضا لصاعقة تدمر االسرة من كافة النواحي االقتصادية واالجتماعية والنفسية والصحية. واستعرض رئيس قسم اإلرشاد والتربية الخاصة سمير الطرمان االهداف العامة والخاصة للمدونة وّالية العمل التي انتجتها حيث شارك في العمل مجموعات اربع إلى تقسيمهم تم والخاصة الحكومية القدس مدارس من القديمة والبلدة سلوان الرام، العيسوية، مناطق من وطفلة طفال 43عمل حصلت على اربعين ساعة تدريبية باعتماد اسلوب الفعاليات واألنشطة بحيث تناولت كل مجموعة أثرًا مدمرا لهذه ااّلفة في مجاالت ااّلثار

النفسية، ااّلثار السلوكية التعليمية، ااّلثار االجتماعية وااّلثار االقتصادية. وفي نهاية الحفل تم تكريم المؤسسات الداعمة وتوزيع شهادات التقدير على كافة االطفال الذين شاركوا في انتاج المدونة.

“Drugs in the Eyes of Children” BlogMinistry of Education in Jerusalem Celebrated completing “The Young Researcher” project and launching “Drugs in the Eyes of Children” blog, funded by Kuwaitis for Jerusalem Committee in Husni AL Ashhab School in Al Ram. The ceremony was attended by a number of important persons such as the Minister of Jerusalem Adnan Al Husseini, Dima Al Samman, Samir Jibril, Mazen Al Ja’bary, Mutaser Edkaidek, Mahmoud Al radaydeh, and a number of instructors, parents and students.Samir Jibril welcomed the audience and thank all the parties who supported this project and participated in producing this blog, especially Kuwaitis for Jerusalem and Burj Al Luq Luq Social Center Society, the department of counselling and special education in the directorate, in addition to parents and students. He assured that the directorate, through this blog, spots the lights on a very sensitive issue which can destroy the whole community. He noted that harm caused by drugs destroys the lives of the dealers, addicted and it even reaches families and destroys them economically, socially, psychologically and medically.Samir Turman, the head of counseling and special education department, presented the general and specific goals of the blog, in addition to the mechanism of its action. 43 male and female school from Al Aisawiyeh, Al Ram, Silwan and the Old City were divided into 4 groups and received 40 training hours through activities. Each group tackled an effect of drugs including economical, social, educational and psychological effects. At the end of the ceremony, supporting associations received honors while participating children received their certifications.

نفذت جمعية برج اللقلق المجتمعي ضمن مشروع »سفراء القدس« مبادرة »جسور وأمل« التي نبعت من أفكار طالب الصف الثامن من مدرسة االيتام ب، وذلك ضمن سلسلة من المبادرات المجتمعية في المشروع.

من ترفع وورشات ونشاطات بوسائل وترفيهيا واجتماعيا نفسيا وأهاليهم والسرطان بالكلى المصابين االطفال دعم الى المبادرة وهدفت معنوياتهم وتزيدهم طاقة وقوة لقضاء وقت الفراغ بشيء هادف ومفيد، وبشكل خاص بعد انقطاعهم عن التعليم الدراسي.

ومجموعة الدمى وصناعة اليدوية االشغال مجموعة بين ما توزعت مجموعات على المبادرين تقسيم خالل من الموقع في الفعاليات وتنوعت قراءة قصص تعليمية ومجموعة عرض مشاهد تمثيلية مع فرقة االنوف الحمراء المخصصة للعمل في المستشفى.

في نهاية اليوم قام الطالب المبادرين بتوزيع الهدايا الرمزية على جميع مرضى القسم. وشكر العاملين في القسم الطالب على انسانتيهم اعطائهم لألطفال ودعوا الى مزيد من النشاطات في المشفى.

ويذكر ان المشروع هو ينفذ مع مؤسستي الرؤيا الفلسطينية ومركز السرايا وبدعم من مركز تطوير وبتمويل من البنك الدولي.جميع الصور التقطت بعد موافقة االهل والمستشفى.

Burj AL Luq Social Center Society executed “Bridges & Hope” initiative within the “Jerusalem Ambassadors” project which was the idea of 8th grade students from AL Aytam School B. The initiative comes within a series of community initiatives within the same project. The initiative aimed to support kidney and cancer patients and their parents psychologically, socially and recreationally through activities and workshops which revives them and fuel them up with positive energy to spend their free time, especially that their education lives have stopped. The activities varied between handcrafts, dolls making, story readings and acting scenes with the Red Noses. At the end of the day, initiators distributed symbolic gifts on the patients and thanked the staff for their devotion in their work. The project is executed with Pal Vision and Al Saraya, supported by Tatwir Center and fuded by the World Bank. All Photos were taken upon agreement.

A delegation from the Islamic Development Bank, represented by Hani Abu Diab, the representative of the Saudi Fund for Development, Mohammad Namla, in addition to the head of the Jerusalem Consulting Center for the Welfare Association visited Burj Al Luq Luq Social Center society in order to see the projects executed by the Saudi Bank for Development such as the football playground in the society. Moreover, the delegation toured around to see the facilities in the location. After that, Burj Al Luq Luq Executive Manager, Muntaser Edkaidek, made a presentation about the society in which he talked about the programs the society organizes for the support of Jerusalemites in the Old City of Jerusalem. At the end of the tour, Edkaidek thanked all people in charge of the Islamic Development Bank, the Saudi Bank for Development and the Welfare Association. In addition, he assured that their efforts are essential for resistance and endurance in Burj Al Luq Luq which is a Jerusalemite society that lies in the heart of Jerusalem.

Eight trainees from Burj Al Luq Social Center Society Participated in handcraft training in “Ismak” institute in Turkey as a result of continuous efforts and planning between the society, the Organization of the Islamic Conference in addition to the Turkish institute in Istanbul. The training started 22nd to 28th March 2015 was under the supervision of the Organization of the Islamic which funded this training. The participants, who sought to be future trainers at Burj Al Luq Luq, received trainings in painting on porcelain and glass, knitting, fashion designing for women and skincare under the supervision of specialized trainers in Turkey. Moreover, Burj Al Luq Luq Social Center Society aims to initiate a school specialized in these handcrafts in the nearest future.

Abu Obaida School Crowned Champions in the 4th Version of Football Schools Tournaments & Al Aytam School A Crowned

the Basketball Championship Burj Al Luq Luq Social Center Society organized the final round of the Jerusalem schools tournaments, in cooperation and partnership with the Ministry of Education in Jerusalem. Eight Jerusalemite schools with more than 200 male and female players participated in football and basketball games.This tournament is an activity of Shababik Ya Quds project, supervised by Welfare Association and funded by the businessman Munir Kaloti and under the supervision of the Welfare Association. Moreover, the project coordinator, Ahmad Jaber, in cooperation with the supervisor of sports activities in the ministry, Mutaz Suwwan, followed up with all the administrative matters for the success of the 4th version of the championship. This version was named “Jersualem .. The Mother .. The Land”ad it got this name from the Mother’s Day and the Land Day because they happen to be in the same month, March. Burj Al Luq Luq has deliberately chosen this name in order to confirm both the intellectual and the cultural aspects of organizing this tournament, which are strengthening the Palestinian identity and reinforcing the resilience of Jerusalemites in order to preserve Jerusalem. The activities of the tournaments took place on two different playgrounds and they were full of cooperation between trainers and players. Moreover, Ahmad Jaber stated that the main reason for this championship is the friendly competition.In this version, Abo Obaida team were the stars as they reached the finals against Al Aytam School A which came in the second place. On the other hand, Al Fatah School A was crowned the championship after winning against Wadi Al Jouz team after proving their talented skills. Participating teams are: Football for boys: Al Thouri, Al Hasan Al Thani, Abo Obaida & Al Aytam schools. Basket Ball for girls: Sharafat, Al Shabat AL Muslimat & Al Fatah Al Laji’a A & B schools.
