BUNDLE TICKET AND IT’S CONSTITUENTS..

A “BUNDLE TICKET” can be a printed one, a handwritten one or a bar-coded printed. It is a ticket which finds

extensive use in the garment industry for tracking and keeping

record of cloth bundles. It can be customized according to the needs of the

company.

USUALLY CONSISTS OF:

• Bundle number• Order number• Lot quantity• Number of pieces in the bundle• Part of the garment• Size• Colour• Signature of the cutting room supervisor under whom

the order is executed.

VARIED BUNDLE TICKETS..

TICKETING STEPS IN A MID-LEVEL COMPANY..

IContains information like :

• Bundle number,• order number,• size,• lot quantity, • number of pieces in the bundle,• part of the garment

(front/back/sleeve)• signature of the cutting room

supervisor under whom the order has beenexecuted.

II• Additionally the bundle tickets

are recorded in the registers of thecompany for future reference.

• Here, a record of : The roll of the fabric from which

the pieces havebeen cut,

the date of order references from the in-house merchandiseretc. are also kept besides the previous details.

IIIOn the basis of this bundle ticket information, after getting thebundles from the cutting room, through the in-house merchandiser, thesupervisors in the sewing room record the same information in theirregisters (along with information like time of receiving the bundlesof garment parts).

IV• The bundles are distributed to

the helpers of thetailors in the line.

• By this way, even if a certain garment piece islost mid-way, it can be tracked down easily.

Bar Coded Tickets..1

In the software feed all products and tasks involved in making them.

2Before sending bundles to assembly floor, input product, no.of units, size and

colour.

3 Bar coded tickets to be attached to each bundle are generated.

4Each time a worker completes an assembly task, they remove the corresponding

ticket from the bundle's sheet.

5Workers turn in tickets with time sheets for information processing.

6Thus helps calculate gross payroll, production tracking

reports’quality contol,productivity tuning.

Ticket Splitting..• For those cases where workers are switched in the middle of a

bundle, the software lets you split any ticket across multiple events, even across multiple employees.

• When one scans the ticket, one can simply click the Split button and specify how many units were completed.

• The Ticket remains live and scannable, but now represents only the remaining unit quantity.

• Later, one can scan the same ticket and the software will register the remaining units.

COMMON PROBLEMS WITH STICK-ON BUNDLE TICKETS AND SOME SOLUTIONS..• Bundle tickets fall apart- Use tickets with

varying stock (paper) weights and with a multitude of perforation patterns.

• Labels peel- Labels are produced with pressure sensitive stock that varies in release factor. Use "tougher" i.e. tighter release labels.

• Labels hang or jam when feeding into the printer- Use labels that are die-cut at the fold.

A company named ‘ABC Corporation’ has placed an order for 6000 skirts catering to four different colours- black, navy blue, burgundy and brown and the size requirement of the company is S,M,L,XL. The size ratio mentioned is 4:2:3:1.

CUT ORDER AND LAY LOT PLANNING..

Rules laid down for planning:• A maximum of hundred layers can be cut at a time.• A maximum of 4-way marker can be used.• Multiple colours can be cut together.• Single garment marker length in meter-

S(2.00),M(2.2),L(2.4),XL(2.6)• Fabric saving on a 2,3,4 way marker-3%,4% and 5%

respectively.• End allowance- 3cm per ply• Maximum number of plies in a lay- 100• Maximum lay length- 10 m• Cost of fabric- Rs.50 per m• Marker preparation time for 1,2,3 and 4 way marker

respectively-0.5,0.75,0.9 and I hour resp.• Spreading time per ply corresponding to 1,2,3 and 4 way

marker-0.75,0.80,0.85 and 0.90 respectively.• Cutting time- 15 min(for 100 layers).For every ten layer

reduction cutting time will reduce by 1 min.• Labour cost per day (8hr)- Rs.200

• Time for spreading lay 1 and 8= 100*0.90*2=180min• Time for spreading lay 2 and 12=170 min• Time for spreading lay 3=75min• Time for spreading lay 4 and 7=170min• Time for spreading lay 5,13,14=225 min• Time for spreading lay 6 and 15= 160min• Time for spreading lay 9 and 11= 160min• Time for spreading lay 10 and 16= 150min

Labour Cost(Contd)..

• Total time for spreading all the lays =1290 min

• As we have 100 layers in each case and according to the rules for every 100 layers time taken under consideration is fifteen minutes.

Thus, Total time for cutting= 100*16*15=24,000min

• Total time requirement= 348 min+1290min+24000=25638min=17.8 days

• Total labour cost in marker making, spreading and cutting= 17.8*200= Rs.3560

..SEWING TICKET..

Case of a jacket ready to be sewn:

• All the pieces to be sewn are kept neatly in the bundle with the ticket edges readily visible.

• The plastic sleeve attached to the bundle consists of the sewing tickets.

• When a jacket is sewn up, the little stickers stuck to each cut piece usually remain.

• Having labels intact can help trouble shoot if pieces aren’t matching.

..SEWING TICKET..

• The sewing tickets are the control for the bundle. • The tickets are sequential, arranged in sewing

order. • The tickets describe the operation to be done,

the quantity in the bundle, the pay per operation and the pay per bundle/operation.• This is the WIP bundle.

• The plastic sleeve retains the tickets for the remaining operations.

• The stitchers have removed the previous tickets to add to their time sheets.

• Once one does the operations, he picks off his pay sticker and adds it to his pay sheet which he would turn in at the end of the day.
