ARNOLD ‘TARZAN’ LEVIN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
One annual scholarship of $5,000 will be awarded each year ($2,500 per semester).
Scholarships are renewable for three (3) years if application is made in writing to the
scholarship committee.
Eligibility
1. Applicant must be a current senior enrolled at Thunder Ridge High School and
has been accepted or anticipates being accepted into an accredited four year
university.
2. Applicant must possess a cumulative G.P.A. of at least a “C” or higher at time of
application.
3. Applicant must complete either the SAT or ACT test.
Note: Scholarship is available for tuition, room, board and books. Funds will be paid
directly to the school.
To Apply
The application must include:
1. A Cover Page containing the following information, double-spaced, in the
following order:
a. Applicant’s full name (nickname in parentheses)
b. Applicant’s social security number
c. Applicant’s home address
d. Applicant’s phone number
e. Applicant’s date of birth
f. Sex: M or F
g. Numbers of students in senior class
h. Names of college(s) preferred. (First three choices)
2. A one page essay stating applicant’s college and career goals. Essay must be
type-written, double-spaced, on a single page.
3. A letter of recommendation from the applicant’s high school principal, a teacher
or guidance counselor containing an evaluation of the applicant’s
accomplishments, both academic and otherwise, particularly any preparation
relevant to his/her career choice.
4. A copy of applicant’s high school transcript plus scores for SAT, ACT, etc.
5. A list of extracurricular or community service activities. A concise list of
honors, awards, activities and achievements is preferable to excessive
documentation. Do not send photocopies of awards. List them.
All information is to be collated in the above order and mailed together. Transcripts
and letters of recommendation are to be collated with the application and are not to be
mailed separately.
Submission of Application
Applications must be POSTMARKED no later than March 31, and addressed to Arnold
“Tarzan” Levin Memorial Scholarship, c/o Deb Levin, PO Box 264,
Kensington, KS 66951. Please mail the application unfolded in a flat 9” x 12”
envelope.
Notification
Recipient of the scholarship will be notified at the Thunder Ridge High School
Achievement Program.
Judging
All applications become the property of the Arnold “Tarzan” Levin Scholarship
Committee. The Board of Judges will consist of three (3) members. The decision of
the Scholarship Committee is final.
