Acne vulgaris is a common inflammatory skin condition. Nearly 90% of teenagers have acne, and half of them continue to experience symptoms as adults.1-3 By age 40 years, 1% of men and 5% of women still have lesions. Recent analyses show an increasing prevalence of acne in children, perhaps because of pubertal onset.

• Acne vulgaris is an inflammatory disorder of the lining pilosebaseus accompanied the blockage and the accumulation of keratin materials. Acne usually arise in the face, neck, chest and back characterized by blackheads, palpus, pustules, and cysts node (Naturakos, 2009).

• Release of inflammatory mediators into the skin

• Follicular hyperkeratinization with subsequent plugging of the follicle

• Propionibacterium acnes follicular colonization• Excess sebum production

symtom

• The disease is characterized by lesions that vary, although one type of lesion is usually dominates. Noninflammatory lesions, is blackheads, can be either open comedones (blackheads comedones) caused by the oxidation of melanin, or closed comedones (whiteheads comedones). Inflammatory lesions such as papules, pustules, and cysts to nodes. Scar tissue can be a complication of non-inflammatory acne and inflammatory acne (Movita, 2013).
