Task 4 Selection of final images & review

Aim of Shoot

The aim of my shoot was to create some great pictures that had good character and really spoke for them selves like this image has colour yet still quite dark and sad

Description of shoot

This photo was just on the outskirts of central Manchester positioning the camera was the key part of the shot as it is so close to the lamppost it created a real great photo with good depth of feel and with all the different levels to create my favourite picture. it was taken during summer on quite a dull day I had the shutter speed on quite slow as I was trying to go for the blurred traffic effect previously. I used gradient map to create this quite easy and funky look

this image I changed hue and colour saturation. It may be perceived as un realistic but I think it is a very good shot

I really like the positioning of this photo as the bridge draws you in to the center it has good composition

I personally like the purple aspect of it but it could be apart of the photos down fall as it is not as realistic

I heightened the thresh hold giving it a strange black and white look

It was a simple and effective way of creating a quite abstract image

I like this image as it has a really textural feel to it, its bold and quite strange

It may be hard to interpret what it actual is

The process I under took here was I raised the curves to allow more light exposure and then inverted it to give it this florescent dark look.

I really like how you almost lead down the street the inverted effect really creates this almost horror feel to the image

I raised the photo filter to create a warm look. I was unsure how to edit this photo at first and believe this way is quite effective

It is quite a simple image which could be seen as quite boring

I personally like the picture and think the space in the middle of the trees has a peaceful look to it

Rejected Images

These are the three of the images I chose not to use the first was just blurred as I left the shutter speed on to low .

The second image I just found very boring and bland the building is quite ugly and not what I was looking for

The third image was ruined by people walking in front of me

Aims for next project

To make sure I prepare a good location I will get a better camera and spend more time

actually taking the pictures
