Conversation Starter 1

• IECP classes and assignments are viewed as daunting by some students. As we once read in class, “any homework is too much homework”. In your experience, what is the most daunting task or homework you have been assigned? Why? (Linguistics) (Sung Jun)

Two-Syllable Words

• About 80% of two-syllable nouns and adjectives get their stress on the first syllable.

• Two-syllable verbs and prepositions usually have stress on the second syllable, but there are exceptions to this too.
