Dear Colleague,

It is a great pleasure to welcome you to Washington, D.C. for the 90th Atlantic Dermatological Conference (ADC). I am honored to be the Chairperson, and work together with the Washington D.C. Dermatological Society, the community Dermatologists, and the academic Dermatology programs in our city: Georgetown/Washington Hospital Center, George Washington University, Howard University, and Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

The 2013 Atlantic Dermatological Conference will highlight the depth of dermatological experience within our city. Also, we are pleased to have Dr. William James speak on the history of the Atlantic Dermatological Conference to commemorate the 90th anniversary. In addition, Dr. Boris Lushniak will give our keynote address on Bioterrorism.

This year's conference will be held at the Capital Hilton Hotel, centrally located within four blocks of the White House. Following Friday night's opening scientific session; we will host a welcome reception at the Capital Hilton. We hope you will join us on Saturday evening for a dinner and reception at the fascinating Newseum, a cutting edge media experience.

On Saturday morning, the patient viewing session will be held at the George Washington University in the Medical Faculty Associates (MFA) building. A shuttle will run from the hotel to the MFA building. Dermatopathology will be presented via laptops for each case. The discussion of these patients will resume on Saturday afternoon at the Capital Hilton Hotel. The patient viewing and subsequent expert lead discussions of these fascinating cases will be the unique feature of this meeting.

I thank the members of the organizing committee, Drs Maral Skelsey, Sandra Read, Sabrina Newman, Christine DeWitt, Carmen Williams, Steven Krivda, Elizabeth Dugan, Nina Fisher, Anne Lindgren, Larry Green, Ben Lockshin, Brandon McKnally, and Melissa Muszynski for their hard work and dedication in planning this meeting.

The 90th Atlantic Dermatological Conference Dermatopathology Patient Viewing Session is always a highlight of the conference. During this full day course, patients with exceptional diagnostic and/or therapeutic challenges, use of novel treatments, rare skin disorders, and cutaneous manifestations of systemic disease will be presented. The afternoon Patient Viewing Panel Discussion will include a review and discussion of the morning cases which will be moderated by a panel of dermatologists and dermatopathologists who are experts in their fields.

After the completion of this session, attendees will gain insight into diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of a variety of skin conditions. This year’s Live Patient Viewing is not to be missed!
