Definitions for Conjugation:Infinitive – the basic form of the verb; In English: to +

an action (to speak, to need, to look for, to buy.) In Spanish: an action + ar (hablar, necesitar, buscar, comprar.)

Conjugate – to change the verb from infinitive form to a form that matches the subject. Each subject will use a different verb ending.

Stem – the part of the infinitive after you drop the -ar infinitive ending. This part contains the meaning of the verb. (habl-necesit-, busc-, compr-.)

Endings: Spanish verbs require a different set of endings. The endings will indicate what subject is doing the action.
