UB POST BACCALAUREATE CERTIFICATE BUSINESS FUNDAMENTALS

The program leading to the Post Baccalaureate Business Certificate emphasizes student choice toward fulfilling career needs. This certificate is designed primarily for two target audiences: individuals interested in learning business fundamentals, perhaps to enhance their career preparedness; and individuals considering the eventual completion of an M.B.A., but desiring a sampling of courses. Local, national and international organizations frequently consider the Post Baccalaureate Business Certificate as an option for maintaining the currency of their human capital. The certificate courses may satisfy prerequisite credits in the MBA program.

ADMISSION Admission to the Post Baccalaureate Business Certificate program requires proof of a bachelor’s degree with a 3.0 grade point average, the submission of two official transcripts pertaining to the bachelor’s degree and all work completed since receipt of the degree, two letters of recommendation, a resume, an essay limited to 10,000 characters, the completion of a University of Baltimore application and a planned program of study approved by the academic programs coordinator of the School of Business.

APPLICATION FOR GRADUATION Application for graduation must be made prior to completing the last 3 credits of the certificate program. The certificate award will ignore any course waivers or substitutions. All courses must be taken at the University of Baltimore.

REQUIREMENTS Subject to individual students’ approved plans, the Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Business Fundamentals requires the completion of four of the following courses:

This certificate is designed primarily for three target audiences: students interested in learning some of the basic concepts of business in areas of their choosing, perhaps to enhance their career preparedness; students considering the eventual completion of an M.B.A., but desiring a sampling of courses; and students seeking to complete the 150-hour requirement for the CPA examination, but not wishing to earn a graduate business degree. Local, national and international organizations frequently consider the Post Baccalaureate Business Certificate as an option for maintaining the currency of their human capital.

ADMISSION Admission to the Post Baccalaureate Business Certificate program requires proof of a bachelor’s degree with a 3.0 grade point average, two letters of recommendation, a letter of intent, submission of transcripts for all work completed since the bachelor’s degree, completion of a University of Baltimore application and a planned course of study approved by the academic programs coordinator of the School of Business.
