Educating Men and Women For Intelligent Action.
Through this degree, I now have an arsenal of knowledge. And thanks to the
incredible lecturers we all have the potential to be real world leaders.
Dr Kristin Carson-Chahhoud, MSc in Public Policy & Management
Associate Research Professor – University of South Australia
I had never really looked at a balance sheet before coming to CMU. Now I can look at
any financial statements and see what the problems are. I had developed that skill at
CMU and that for me is remarkable.
Katrina Edillor, MSc in Public Policy & Management
Head of AX Ventures – Coca Cola Europacific Partners, Australia
My degree was an eye-opener. I had no idea of the breadth of skills available for
developing and evaluating policy. I would strongly recommend it to anyone looking for
a career in policy or public administration.
Dr Pallave Dasari, MSc in Public Policy & Management
Research Development Coordinator, Robinson Research Institute
University of Adelaide
Public managers need to draw on deep skills in information management and analysis
while being able to develop strategies for seeing the results of that analysis put into
practice. This degree has the lot.
Helen Galindo, MSc in Public Policy and Management
Manager, Health & Safe Workplaces – Office of the Commissioner for Public Sector
Employment
I took this course because it seemed the best fit for beefing up my technical skills in
economics and data analytics. It way surpassed my expectations in terms of the depth
of the skill learnings and the breadth of the other skills to which I was exposed.
Michael Guy, MSc in Public Policy & Management
Senior Environmental Planner – SA Housing Authority
The PPP unit re-established in the Ministry of Finance required most of what I
learnt during the experience at Carnegie Mellon. I built a team from scratch, hired
professionals, identified potential projects, developed them jointly with all other
Ministries, conducted the tenders, negotiated the contracts, and understanding of
finance and presented the results yearly to Congress.
Jose Morea, MSc in Public Policy & Management
Former Deputy Minister, Ministry of Finance of Argentina

Study Public Policy To tackle society’s most complex problems, a firm understanding of policy is essential, but so are the technology
and analytical foundations to create the right solutions—and the management prowess to deploy those solutions
for maximum impact.
The Master of Science in Public Policy & Management (MSPPM) that is delivered at CMU Australia gives you
skills that simply cannot be matched by any other school of public policy, school of management, or school
offering purely technical training.
Policy. Technology. Management. CMU is the only place to get all three.
The MSPPM program of Heinz College in Australia builds well-rounded thinkers prepared to change the world
at the nexus of people, policy, and technology. You will emerge a leader with the ability to convert data into
evidence-based action for a better world.
Scholarship Value
The Downer-Rann Scholarship for the MSPPM programs is up to $34,000 AUD in scholarship value. Please refer
to the tuition fee table below for the tuition fees for each program.
The tuition fee for a comparable 12-month/3-semester MSPPM degree in CMU Pittsburgh is US $77,200* (or
about AUD $105,000+).
FEE-HELP
The Higher Education Loan Program includes a loan scheme called FEE-HELP for domestic fee paying students.
Eligible students can take out a FEE-HELP loan to assist with their tuition fees. Eligible students may choose to
defer some, or all, of their tuition fees to FEE-HELP. Please visit studyassist.gov.au for the most current and up-
to-date information.

Study Part-time
are usually mid-career and that many have family
responsibilities as well. Therefore, they can face time
constraints that can be more imposing than those
affecting students studying full-time.
part-time students meet these constraints. Small
class sizes are an important advantage of studying
at Carnegie Mellon. They allow for a degree of self-
management by class cohorts which is unusual for
Australian universities and is ideally suited to part-
time study. For instance, some classes in the past
have articulated a preference for evening classes
which the university has been able to respond to
positively.
Carnegie Mellon experience. Nonetheless, it is
accepted that part-time students may be prevented
from attending individual classes for reasons beyond
their control. For this reason, classes are recorded
to provide back-up for students unable to attend
occasional classes.
Individual Attention
is that students receive a great deal of individual
attention. Each student has a designated faculty
advisor to assist with course planning and help deal
with unexpected contingencies. All of the faculty are
available for consultation and spend considerable
time with students on an individual basis.
Historically, part-time students have done very well
in our courses. Many bring valuable experience from
the workplaces to the class discussion. They also
have a keen understanding of how the skills they are
learning can be applied in practice. For example,
they can see fertile ground in their organisations for
using the abilities they acquire in data mining and
data visualisation.
to a student body which already enjoys an unusually
high diversification of nationalities and backgrounds.
