Doug Noll is a full-time mediator and peacemaker engaged to work in intractable and seeminglyimpossible conflicts. As a lawyer turned peacemaker, he is AV-rated, the highest rating a lawyercan receive. He was a business and commercial trial lawyer for 22 years before turning topeacemaking. He is a Fellow of the International Academy of Mediators, a Distinguished Fellowof the American College of Civil Trial Mediators and on the American Arbitration Associationpanel of mediators and arbitrators.Doug was one of the first U.S. mediators certified under theinternational mediator standards established by the International Mediation Institute. He is listedin the Who’s Who of International Commercial Mediators and has been named as Lawyer of theYear in 2014 by Best Lawyers in America ( www.bestlawyers.com ). Doug was honored as anEncore Fellow in 2014 by  encore.orgfor his prison work. Along with his colleague Laurel Kaufer, Doug was honored by California Lawyer Magazine asCalifornia Attorneys of the Year in 2012 for their pro bono Prison of Peace project. He is thecreator of Negotiation Mastery for the Legal Pro, an on-line legal negotiation training course,Negotiate a Centered Life, an on-line life skills and relationship course, and is author of thebook Elusive Peace: How Modern Diplomatic Strategies Could Better Resolve World Conflicts(Prometheus Books, April 2011), winner of the Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution(CPR) International Peace and Justice Book Award for 2011. In addition, Doug is the author ofSex, Politics & Religion at the Office: The New Competitive Advantage (Auberry Press 2006),with John Boogaert, and Peacemaking: Practicing at the Intersection of Law and HumanConflict (Cascadia 2002) and, numerous articles on peacemaking, restorative justice, conflictresolution and mediation.
