TRANSCRIPT
3:11), and sincere, genu-ine (Romans 12:9, He-brews 10:22). For those who worked on their homework from that Sun-day, these were the slides we were to go over as part of that message. The chal-lenge we have from this passage of James is to seek that heavenly wis-dom, to be those type of Disciples of Jesus that dis-play the characteristics consistent with heavenly wisdom! And this only comes about when we seek an intimate relation-ship with Jesus, desiring to know Him more and more. May this month of June be a month in which we seek to pursue this heav-enly wisdom with all our being, with all our strength, with all our might! Be blessed and be a blessing!

Heavenly Wisdom
James 3:13-18
The message from the last Sunday in May was to have been from this passage. And although we did dwell on it some, we did not finish the in-sert. I am using this month’s ‘From the Desk’ to fill in the blanks. This passage from James is contained within his discourse on having an active and alive faith that is visible and genuine. In chapter 3 he focuses on the tongue and how it is to be used wisely to en-courage not destroy our fellow sojourners in this life. To have a faith walk that is pleasing to God requires a wisdom that is from God, a heavenly wisdom, which is the fo-cus of James 3:13-18. An earthly wisdom will not bring us into the intimate walk, the intimate pres-
ence of the Lord. Earthly wisdom leads to envy (see Matthew 27:18, Pi-late’s observation of the Jewish leaders), selfish ambition (read Acts 8:9-25 for the account of Simon the sorcerer), dis-order (look to Acts 19:23-34 and the riot at Ephe-sus) and all kinds of evil practices (the ultimate is found in Genesis 6:5-6, the reason for the flood, and can be found in any of the Gospel accounts of the trial of Jesus). But heavenly wisdom is first of all pure (Matthew 5:8, Psalm 51:6-12), then peace loving (Matt. 5:9; Hebrews 12:14; Psalm 29:11), considerate, gen-tle, mild (Matt. 5:5), sub-missive, humble (I Peter 5:5-6; Titus 3:2), full of mercy (referenced 269x in the KJV; Matt. 5:7; Ps. 103:17-KJV; Micah 6:8), full of good fruit (John 15:1-8; Galatians 5:22-23), impartial (Galatians 2:11-21; Colossians

UPCOMING MISSION:
Beginning in June, ARKK will start collecting aluminum soda tabs and glossy magazines for the Ronald McDonald House in Hershey. If you have any questions, please contact Melisa Lucas.
Ronald McDonald House’s description of glossy magazines is as follows:
Please bring in anything that is GLOSSY! That means magazines, catalogues, and annual reports – just as long as the pages are slick and glossy. Unfortunately we cannot use newspapers or telephone books.
Ronald McDonald House’s description of the tabs that they collect is as follows:
We can only recycle aluminum tabs not plastic or steel tabs, as in some juice or nutritional supplement
cans. Unfortunately, if the tab sticks to a magnet, we cannot use it. Please check your tabs from soup
and other cans – some are aluminum and can be used; others are steel and cannot. Thank you!
REMINDER: ARKKIDS remember to fill your M&M containers with coins for our sponsored child, Nory (or Nono), from Haiti. Most importantly, keep Nory and her family in your prayers!
If you have any questions please feel free to contact Melisa Lucas at 717-713-4244 (cell) or email at [email protected].

JUNIOR CHURCH 1 (AGES 3-5) TEACHERS & HELPERS

.A teacher was testing the children in her Sunday school class to see if they understood the concept of getting to
heaven. She asked them, "If I sold my house and my car, had a big garage sale and gave all my money to the church, would that get me into Heaven?" "NO!" the children answered. "If I cleaned the church every day, mowed the yard, and kept everything neat and tidy, would that get me into Heaven?" Again, the answer was, "NO!" Now she was smiling. Hey, they're getting it, she thought! "Well, then, if I was kind to animals and gave candy to all the children, and loved my husband, would that get me into Heaven?" she asked. Again, they all answered, "NO!" She was just bursting with pride for them. "Well," she continued, "then how can I get into Heaven?"
A five-year-old boy shouted out, "YOU GOTTA BE DEAD."
