NOTES:

Hat is worked flat and then seamed.

HATWith A, cast on 60 sts.Work in K1, p1 Rib for 2 in. (5 cm).Change to B.Row 1 (RS): With B, *k8, k2tog; rep from * to end of row - 54 sts at the end of this row.

Row 2: Purl Continue in St st (k on RS, p on WS) until piece measures about 6 in. (15 cm) from beg, end with aWS (purl) row.Next Dec Row: *K7, k2tog; rep from * to end of row - 48 sts.Work in St st for 3 rows.Next Dec Row: *K6, k2tog; rep from * to end of row - 42 sts.Work in St st for 3 rows.Next Dec Row: *K5, k2tog; rep from * to end of row - 36 sts.
