So Amy Jo, what does it feel like to be up there with the greats, such as Lady Gaga and Beyoncé?I can’t even put it into words! It’s just so surreal; I don’t know how I’ve done it! I mean come on. I grew up on a council estate; the highest anyone’s ever achieved from where I lived was work part time in the local estate agents. *shakes her head in disbelief* I feel like I’m dreaming.

You’ve achieved so much for just 21. How did you break into the music business?Haha, you won’t believe me. I was 18 and on the brink of dropping out of college, we had a trip to a music recording centre in Manchester. I remember everyone had a go of recording a single line from Rihanna’s ‘Unfaithful’. I was so nervous everything sort of blurred when it was my turn to sing. When I was finished everyone clapped like they were insane and then the manager came up to me and gave me his card. I swear I almost fainted! It’s hard to believe that my life started on that day.

That’s so impressive; did you always have a passion for singing?*Bursts out laughing* just ask anyone! I used to have a hairbrush which I nicknamed micro which I used to sing into every chance I got! Now I think about it, it was so embarrassing but I loved it!
