“The harvest is plentiful but the

workers are few. Ask the Lord

of the harvest, therefore, to

send out workers into his harvest

field.”Matthew 9:36-38

After the church prayer meeting Sunday night, a

spontaneous “testimony service” took place. I had already heard several great stories

that day after the morning services about what God is doing, as well as at the afternoon funeral and during the evening parenting forum. It is great to hear how much God is doing around us! He is meeting people and moving profoundly in so many ways.

Sunday morning, many people were surrendering things to God and receiving cleansing and freedom. Out of the many things I heard that God is doing, three especially stood out to me.

First, many of us are taking major steps with Christ. I am hearing people say they

are letting go of the habits and characteristics that have kept them from being all God wants them to be. They want contentment, freedom, and abundant life and are ready to do whatever it takes to get there.

Second, I keep hearing about the amazing way we are ministering to each other. People share about how they are being encouraged, supported, inspired, and blessed by others at Harvest. That is an indication of maturity and the life and love of Christ in the Harvest family. We are rejoicing with one another, and we are mourning with those who mourn. When we minister

to each other like this, we become what the Lord wants His church to be.

The other primary thing I am hearing is people talking about the presence of God

at Harvest. We have always talked about what a wonderful blessing this is. From the beginning of the church at every membership class, we have heard new people talk about this. Sunday morning, someone who was at Harvest for the third time told me how God is speaking to her each week and how wonderful His presence is here.

Another person told us she felt God directed her to come to Harvest in February. The first time she came in she said, “I felt something. . . There is a sense of ‘belonging’.”

Then, one of our members told me he was sitting in front of a first time guest Sunday morning, and as they stood up at the end of the service, he heard him say, “That was awesome!”

If you are new to Harvest, we are excited you are becoming part of our family! You are not here by

accident.

God is giving us wonderful blessings and victories by pouring His Spirit out on us. Ask Him to continue. Ask Him to allow you and the church to receive all He wants for us. Ask Him to spill over from us into our community.
