Established in 1901 by Leoncio Arizu, Bodega Luigi Bosca has more than a hundred years’ experience in the local winemaking industry. Currently managed by the third and fourth generations of the Arizu Fam-ily, it is one of the few local winemaking firms still owned by its founders’ descendants, and that owing to its reputation has become the paradigm of Argentine wine.

The Arizu Family has consistently worked to achieve the ultimate expression of Argentine wine, while leading major changes in the local winemaking industry. The four major pillars on which it has consoli-dated its credentials are the global expansion, a prestige based on the expertise gained and transferred over the years, the sustained and homogeneous quality of its wines, and the perpetual quest for excellence through innovation and state-of-the-art technology.

By the end of the XXth. century, when Argentine wine was mostly bound to local consumption, Bodega Luigi Bosca paved the way for the expansion to global markets. The working spirit of the family led it to be present in fifty countries across five continents.

The firm currently exports most of its production, while maintaining its leadership in the premium seg-ment of the local market. In addition, it is part of different organizations and entities that promote the high quality of national wines. The passion of four generations of one family is reflected in Bodega Luigi Bosca’s label collection, as a result of its ambitious efforts started many years ago: to convey the ultimate expression of the essence of Argentine wine.

In line with this objective, and based on the same quality criteria used in winemaking, in 2012 the firm launched Essencia Luigi Bosca, a line of first pressed extra virgin olive oils, venturing for the first time in a market different from that of wine.

The terroir

Located south of the Americas, Argentina is a remarkable combination of natural and landscape richness. It embraces high mountains and plains; lush vegetation and absolute aridity; forests and steppes; glaciers and waterfalls. In this environment, over five centuries the country has developed a particular viticulture, and a popular culture deeply rooted into the winemaking tradition. Ultimately, these factors converge to create the unique identity, character and quality of the wines of Bodega Luigi Bosca.

The firm owns seven vineyard estates in Mendoza, covering an area of 1,730 acres devoted to growing, studying, and interpreting the vineyards located in privileged terroirs at the feet of the Andes Ridge. The wide thermal amplitude, the intensity of sunlight, the moderate winds, and the low relative humidity of the dry climate, encourage an ideal natural microclimate for the development of strong and healthy grapes. The sandy-loam farming areas irrigated with melt-water from the mountain valleys, and the absence of any kind of polluting activity, result in full-bodied and high-purity wines with a distinct aromatic expression.

The present: advance and challenge

While Bodega Luigi Bosca’s future is always a challenge, its present is a combination of daily work and new ideas planned and conceived minutely in advance. This is how Bodega Luigi Bosca is, how it has been conceived by the Arizu Family, and how every day a new story starts anew, because for them, the past is always a prologue.

Luigi Bosca’s seven vineyard estates are located in the most priviledged areas in Mendoza: Luján de Cuyo, Maipú and Valle de Uco. The different vine varieties grown in these areas were brought from Europe to-wards the end of the XIX century, and today’s vineyards are the result of a selection of the best old family vineyards that underwent a very slow transformation process to adapt themselves to harsh environmental demands. During this period, the interbreeding of numerous grape varieties was favored, reinforcing the unique personal character of the vineyards and their fruits.

In addition, in the year 1989 Bodega Luigi Bosca actively participated in the creation of the first C.D.O. in Argentina, called Luján de Cuyo Controlled Denomination of Origin, which can be proudly compared to other worldwide denominations.

Bodega Luigi Bosca exports its products to 50 countries worldwide, including US, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, the Netherlands, UK, etc. Its wines are present in the most exclusive gastronomic sites across the world, and served aboard the most reputable international airlines. It currently exports 60% of its production, while maintaining a leading position in the premium segment of the local market.

· LUIGI BOSCA

Luigi Bosca. It is Bodega Luigi Bosca’s flagship bearing the Family’s name, and the summary of its origin’s story. True to their tradition, the Arizus have been successful craftmen who knew all too well how to interpret the secrets of the vineyard and the terroir, to reflect in each bottle the varietal sophistication and achieve a timeless collection with purity, typicity and style.

Gala | Luigi Bosca. As reflected by its name, these wines were conceived to star a splendid ceremony. A deluxe collection that is at the forefront of the winemaking industry, its four va-rieties are made with different cepages that are combined to invite you to gradually discover its best kept secrets.

Bohème Luigi Bosca | Brut Nature. The Arizu family was inspired by the classic La Bohème opera to choose the name of this intense and complex sparkling wine, made according to the rules of the traditional method. It is the result of a perfect combination of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay, and owns a great finesse obtained after partial fermentation in French oak casks.

Finca Los Nobles Luigi Bosca. A line that pays tribute to the terroir from where the grapes come from. For more than ninety years, a unique event takes place in this vineyard estate at Lu-ján de Cuyo: the natural intertwining of different varieties that make these wines unrepeatable.

Ícono Luigi Bosca. For more than a century, Luigi Bosca has been working to achieve the ultimate expression of Argentine wine. Ícono Luigi Bosca was created as a tribute to the land and to four generations of winemakers, and as the most ambitious effort fueled by the firm. It is the red wine that crowns the collection and is meant to be a true icon of the Argentine winemaking industry.
