• Doordarshan, one of the largest broadcasting organization in the world .

• The experimental telecast started in Delhi in September 1959 with a small transmitter .

• Doordarshan opened its windows to the world by launching its international channel on 14th March, 1995

• Presently, Doordarshan operates 19 cahnnels-2 all India channel,11 regional satellite language channel, four state network (SN), an international and a sport channel.

• DD-NEWS channel launched in 3rd November,2003,replacing existing DD-METRO entertainment channel, provide 24 hours news to viewers in all variety.

• To make available to the producer various technical resources according to the rhythm of the event.

• The word DSNG means DIGITAL SATELLITE NEWS GATHERING. it is just like a Digital Earth Station. Programme may be up-linked through DSNG from any place. Its up-linking chain have a MPEG-2 Encoder, Modulator, Up-converter, HPA, wave guide mechanism and PDA. HPA consists of traveling wave tube Amplifier

• Satellite offers the unique possibility to transmit images and sound from almost anywhere on the planet. From a fully equipped uplink truck or from a light flyaway travel case, DSNG makes it possible to bring live news and sport to millions of viewers.
