TERMS AND CONDITIONS:Door Controls’ published prices, discounts, payment terms and transportation methods in effect at the time of shipment shall apply unless otherwise expressly stated. Any deviation from stated terms and conditions must be agreed to in writing prior to purchase.

CORE RETURNS: All rebuilt products are priced with “CORE EXCHANGE DUE”. This means a core to be returned shall be the EXACT same product as was purchased with normal wear so that the item can be rebuilt for future sale. The core should be shipped to Door Controls as soon as reasonablypractical, but no later than 90 days after purchase. A core charge will be made if the core to be returned is not received by Door Controlswithin 90 days of purchase. If the EXACT same product cannot be returned for some reason, please contact our core department to negotiatea substitution of some other products of equivalent value.

CLAIMS: All claims must be made within 10 days of receipt of shipment. All shipments made F.O.B. Door Controls, 321 VZ County Road 4500, BenWheeler, Texas 75754 (unless otherwise agreed), and risk of loss shall pass to the buyer upon shipment.

RETURNS: Products to be returned must use a Return Goods Authorization (RGA) form provided by Door Controls. Failure to properly complete the RGA form may delay processing or even result in lost items. All requests for returns must be made within 90 days of original purchase. A 30%restock charge may be assessed for all unused parts returned to Door Controls. A 60% restock fee may be assessed for all special order items.All returns must be shipped prepaid. Credit will be given toward future purchase only, and no cash refunds will be given.

REPAIR AND RETURNS: For your convenience, products can be sent for repair and return at a reduced price. Most products can be repaired the same day received andreturned according to your shipping instructions. If your product is deemed non-repairable, we will replace with a rebuilt unit.

In most cases, we will replace your unit with the same item from our warehouse to expedite processing while allowing you the advantage ofreduced pricing. If you prefer to have the exact unit sent to us repaired, please indicate on the RGA form.

INVOICES: Upon acceptance of goods from Door Controls, the full amount of the invoice is due and payable Net 30 days from invoice date. Invoices not paid within 30 days are subject to a service charge of 1.5% per month (18% per annum). Invoices not paid within 60 days may cause theaccount to be placed on credit hold, and no additional orders will be shipped until payment is received. Should Door Controls have to institutecollection proceedings to secure payment of amounts due, Door Controls may also be entitled to recover reasonable attorney fees, cost andcollection expenses.

SALES TAX AND INSURANCE: All customers must furnish Door Controls a Resale Tax Certificate or an Exempt Tax Certificate in order to avoid being charged any applicabletaxes. Door Controls reserves the right to request a proof of insurance certificate.

WARRANTY:Our warranty for new and rebuilt parts is one year from date of purchase. Any Door Controls product found to be defective will be replaced atno charge and shipped back to the customer via UPS Ground. Out of warranty parts will be invoiced in full, including freight. Items found notto be defective will be assessed a 30% handling fee plus freight.

BACKCHECK Optional hydraulic feature that prevents the door from opening too fast and damaging the closer or anything else in its path. Backcheck usually takes place about 15 degrees before maximum degree of opening is reached.

CEMENT CASE Plastic or cast iron case that is set into the finished floor. The closer is then fastened to the case,allowing the closer to be removed easily from the floor.

CENTER HUNG Center hung closers locate the pivot in the center of the door opening and require a frame applied stop at 0 degrees in single acting applications.

COLD WEATHER Special cold weather closer fluid used in extreme cold to prevent the closer from freezing.FLUID

CLOSER SIZE A term used to describe the strength of a door closer. Generally, the greater the door width, the larger the closer size should be.

CLOSING/LATCH The cycle of closing from initial degree to about 10 degrees from closing position. This cycle is SPEED controlled by valve to speed up or slow down the closing of the door.

DEAD STOP A positive stop built in the closer prevents the door from going beyond the desired degree of opening.

DEGREE OF Maximum opening that a door is allowed to open. Floor closers openings range from 85 - 105 OPENING degrees in 5 degree increments.

DELAY ACTION Delays closing at any point from fully opening, down to 70 degrees to allow for wheelchairs or carts.Note: In order for the delay feature to engage, the door must reach its maximum degree of opening.

DETERMINING Stand with your back to the hinge end of the door. Hand of door will be determined by which of yourDOOR HAND hands the door swings to.

DOUBLE ACTING Double acting doors swing in both directions. Double acting closers are self centering and center hung.

DROP PLATES Necessary when narrow top rails or narrow frame face prevent standard closer mounting.

EXTENDED Certain floor conditions may require the spindle of the closer to be longer than standard. SpindlesSPINDLE may be increased in size by 1/2” increments up to 2” max.

FIRE RATED Closer that is made of approved fire-rated materials.CLOSERS

FLOOR CLOSER A door closer that is mounted in the floor. A floor closer not only closes the door but also hangs it.Standard floor closers come complete with top pivot. Side jamb pivots need to be ordered separately.

HAND Term used to indicate the direction a door swings.

HANDICAP CODE Also referred to as barrier code or accessible code. A term used to describe a standard that is intended for use in making buildings and facilities accessible to the physically challenged.

HEAVY DUTY Heavy duty floor closers are designed for use on heavy doors or doors subject to heavy use/abuse.

HOLD OPEN Optional mechanical feature that is incorporated into the door closer arm assembly. Hold openarms cannot be used on “UL” or fire rated door assemblies.

LEAD LINED L series closers have an arm and top pivot with a special screw pattern to span the lead lining ona door with lead mounted in the middle. If lead is mounted elsewhere in door, consult with us beforeordering. Lead lined closers can handle extremely heavy door loads.

MULTI-SIZED Door closers with adjustable spring power, to permit the adjustment of closing power to meet the needs of most doors. They are available with normal power range adjustments or with barriercode and power range adjustments (Sizes 1-4 and 3-6).

NON-HANDED Door closers which are non-handed permit installation on doors of either hand without modificationto the door closer.

OFFSET HUNG Offset closers locate the pivot point from the heel edge of the door and from the face of door. 1-1/2” offset closers locate the pivot point from the heel edge of the door and 1-1/2” fromthe face of the door.

PARALLEL An exceptionally sturdy arm assembly for parallel arm application only.RIGID ARM

REVEAL The distance measured from the surface of the frame face to the surface of the door.

SEALED CLOSER Closer sealed in cement case preventing debris from getting in between the closer body and cementcase.

SINGLE ACTING Doors that swing in one direction. All offset hung closers are single acting. Center hung closers maybe single acting as well.

SLIDE TRACK For installations where an aesthetic appearance is desirable. There is no arm or bracket projectingfrom the face of the door.

SPRING POWER On sized closers, power can be increased by 50% over the minimum closing force for each closer ADJUSTMENT size.

SWEEP SPEED Standard hydraulic feature that permits adjustment of the doors’ closing speed from the fully openposition down to approximately 10 degrees from the closed position. Also referred to as closing speed.

THRU-BOLTS Bolts commonly used to secure door closer to “UL” rated wood fire doors.(SEX NUT & BOLTS)

TRI-PACK A term used to describe the packaging of most closers for installation, regular arm, top jamb andparallel arm mountings.
