Assessing and Rationalising (RL1) open space policy areas

The table below identifies open space policy areas (UDP policy RL1) some of which do not appear to

have been identified in the Green Space Audits of 2001, 2007 and most recently 2013 re-audit. A

desk top survey has been carried out to identify if the areas should be retained or not, amended

and retained, or retained as shown on the original UDP Proposals Map. The table also shows the

reasons behind the decision. Where the decision has been to retain the area it will be added to the

open space policy map. The information below will contribute toward informing the defined ‘open

space’ on the Policies Map in the Local Plan to ensure the areas are protected from inappropriate

development.
