Fermanagh needs at least one councillor who is 100% committed to fighting fracking!
Electing Donal will send a clear message to the Assembly – we willnot stand for fracking in Fermanagh! Unlike other councillors whowill simply pocket their allowance, Donal will use his to help supportthe fight against fracking and other community campaigns. OVER THE LAST 3 YEARS, Donal has:
Elect a proven campaigner!
Hydraulic fracturing (fracking) involves pumping huge volumes of water– containing sand and potentially hundreds of chemicals – into the groundat very high pressures to open up cracks in the shale layer and releasenatural gas.
The proposed construction of 2,800 frack wells will destroy the pristinecountryside of Fermanagh. It threatens to pollute Lough Erne, our drinkingwater and environment with a toxic cocktail of chemicals, including many linked to cancer. Unpurified gas will be piped at high pressures across thecounty, posing the risk of gas leaks and explosions.
Fracking will destroy many more jobs than it creates and even a repre-sentative of the industry says its effect on energy prices will be “basicallyinsignificant”.
YOUR CHANCE TO SAYNO TO FRACKING!
Unlike in Scotland, France, Germany and elsewhere where fracking is banned, the Stormont politicians have failedto protect us from these dangers. They have the power to stop it immediately but have failed to do so.
Just like the G8, local politicians are trying to spin fracking as a poten-tial jobs bonanza. Drilling company Tamboran have dropped their figurefor potential jobs from 800 to 180. An independent study estimatedthat only 9 long-term jobs will be created! Meanwhile, thousands willbe threatened in tourism, fishing and agriculture!
INSTEAD OF ALLOWING OUR COUNTY TO BE FRACKED, DONAL WILL CAMPAIGN FOR:£ An end to all public sector job losses. Reverse the cuts!£ Massive public investment in renewable energy£ Public investment in Fermanagh’s pristine lakes, fish-eries, water supply & countryside to create environmen-tally-friendly, sustainable industries
Fermanagh needsREAL Jobs!
NOA vote for any of the STORMONT parties is a vote for
continued inaction on fracking
A vote for Donal sends a clear message:keep our county frack-free!
The politicians have failed!
The DUP or Sinn Feinhave the power to stop frackingtoday by publicly announcing theywill block planning permission atthe Assembly Executive - yet they
have chosen not to do it.
The SDLP – who hold the Environment Ministry – voted
against a ban on fracking at theirmost recent conference.
UUPMEP Jim Nicholson voted against mandatory Environmental Impact
