After heavy rains, the Don Valley Bible Chapel’s storm drain system, located throughout the facility, would leak. Finding these leaks to be much of a nuisance and an obvious sign of pipe system failure, church staff members sought after a long-term x that would not cause interruption with the church’s scheduled events and daycare. After heavy rains, the Don Valley Bible Chapel’s storm drain system, located throughout the facility, would leak.Finding these leaks to be much of a nuisance and an obvious sign of pipe system failure, church staff members

sought after a long-term x that would not cause interruption with the church’s scheduled events and daycare.

Project: Rehabilitate leaking storm drains

that are suspended 30 feet in the air without

disrupting the church’s structure, daycare

and normal operations.

Customer and Site: Don Valley Bible

Chapel, a Christian church located in

Toronto, Canada, belongs to the Vision

Ministries network of churches throughout

Canada. Don Valley Bible Chapel hasweekly activities for kids of all ages, a

daycare facility and a gymnasium.

System: The 4" cast iron storm drain

system consists of pipes located on the

roof, which pass through concrete walls

and into the gymnasium, where they are

suspended 30 feet in the air, and then into

the kitchen. The storm drain system and

the chapel are around 30 years old.

Situation: Corrosion and rust caused the aged storm drain pipes to leak after heavy rains, which evoked disturbance

in several areas of the busy church. The customer did not want a messy, destructive and time-consuming repair method that would interrupt scheduled events and cost the church a lot of money.

Solution: A traditional re-pipe repair would have been three times the cost of Nu Flow’s Pull-in-Place technology, so

the customer was happy to utilize our trenchless technology. Nu Flow technicians thoroughly cleaned the cast iron

storm drain system and then installed our structural liners in-place. Nu Flow technicians worked at night so there

was no interference with daycare or other normal operations, and the project was completed in four nights.

Whether employees had instead decided to x the storm drains via traditional re-pipe method or continually x the

leaks with patch-like repairs, Nu Flow’s unobtrusive process was better for the customer, because it prevented

disruption, destruction and high costs. That makes it a successful job worth praising.

Nu Flow was able to retrot storm drain pipes

located in concrete walls and suspended 30 feet in

the air without causing disruption to the chapel. A

traditional re-pipe would have been three times

Nu Flow’s price.
