rule over it."

Genesis 19:17-26 (NKJV) 17 So it came to pass, when they had brought them outside, that he said, "Escape for your

life! Do not look behind you nor stay anywhere in the plain. Escape to the

mountains, lest you be destroyed.“ . . . 25 So He overthrew those cities, all the plain, all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground. 26 But his wife looked back

behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.

Lot and Mrs. Lot had daughters still in Sodom - Gen 19:8,12-15

Lot’s wife perished because her heart was still in Sodom! – Prov 14:14

Hebrews 10:36-39 (NKJV) 36 For you have need of endurance, so that

after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise: 37 "For yet a little while, And He who is coming will come and will not tarry. 38 Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him." 39 But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to

the saving of the soul.

What did Cornelius NOT know??

Felix heard Paul preach about “the faith in Christ” - which included - righteousness, self-control, and the judgment to come – (Vs. 24,25)

Felix was afraid – Why?? He knew he stood condemned!! (25)

He delayed - Why? Christianity requires righteous conduct and he was not yet ready to live for Christ! (v. 25),

Not saved by Good intentions! - (26-27)

27 King Agrippa, do you believe the prophets? I know that you do believe."

28 Then Agrippa said to Paul, "You almost persuade me to become a

Christian." 29 And Paul said, "I would to God that not only you, but also all who hear me today, might become

both almost and altogether such as I am, except for these chains."
