Potenziodinamic curves arte often used toinvestigate material characteristics.Salt spray fog tests are only a qualitativecharacterization and are influenced by manyvariables.Potenziodinamic curves providequantitative data very usefull in order toinvestigate the pretreatment characteristics.Potenziodinamic curves are really replicableand could provide data usefull to comparedifferent pretreatments in a very fast test(few hrs).

In the last 5 years this process was adopted by many customersas final passivation for iron, aluminium and HDG.
Old process: after 175 hrs this ironpanel showes a paint detachment
New process: after 800 hrs this ironpassivated panel is still in excellentconditions
SEM CHARACTERIZATION
At 5000x, it’s evident the complex structure of nanotechnologic passivation.
Cataphoresis thickness: 10 µm
Nanotechnologic passivation on a perfectly degreased surface
Changing the composition ofthe alkaline degreaser, thenanotechnologic passivationshows a different aspect and aworse paint adhesion.

• DOLLCOAT SA 121 is an approvedQUALICOAT pretreatment
• DOLLCOAT SA 121 contains synthesisoligomers in order to improve paintadhesion and chemical corrosion resistence.
• Paint adhesion is a critical problem inaluminium coil specially for the postforming phase. Sometimes this problemcould occours also on twisted profiles
• DOLLCOAT SA 121 could be used also ondie cast aluminium with good results.

The right side of the steel panel was treated with DOLLCOAT SA 113. His very low surface tension avoid a good adhesion of inks and paints.

Anticorrosive properties are in anycase very good.
