Potenziodinamic curves

Potenziodinamic curves arte often used toinvestigate material characteristics.Salt spray fog tests are only a qualitativecharacterization and are influenced by manyvariables.Potenziodinamic curves providequantitative data very usefull in order toinvestigate the pretreatment characteristics.Potenziodinamic curves are really replicableand could provide data usefull to comparedifferent pretreatments in a very fast test(few hrs).

ACET method

Page 19: Dollmar Nanotechnologies Campinas September2011

ACET method

• ACET technique allows to predict anticorrosivebehaviour in 24h.

• ACET technique provides quantitative resultsfor mathematical correlations with NSS andASS.• Equivalent circuit modelization allows to know

quantitatively coating and interface properties.

DOLLCOAT SA 115

In the last 5 years this process was adopted by many customersas final passivation for iron, aluminium and HDG.

Page 24: Dollmar Nanotechnologies Campinas September2011

Old process: after 175 hrs this ironpanel showes a paint detachment

New process: after 800 hrs this ironpassivated panel is still in excellentconditions

SEM CHARACTERIZATION

At 5000x, it’s evident the complex structure of nanotechnologic passivation.

Changing the composition ofthe alkaline degreaser, thenanotechnologic passivationshows a different aspect and aworse paint adhesion.

DOLLCOAT SA SA 119

• Product based on non-fluorinated oligomers• DOLLCOAT SA 119 does not contains any metal, resin, salt or

acid.• DOLLCOAT SA 119 does not shows any symbol or hazard

phrase on the labelling.• pH of the concentrated product and work solution is almost 7• Water vapor is the only process effluent• No effluent to dispose• DOLLCOAT SA 119 is used on hot surfaces (up to 450 °C)

Page 34: Dollmar Nanotechnologies Campinas September2011

DOLLCOAT SA 119

• Typical coating thickness < 0,1µm (100nm)• Passivated surfaces are colorless and could be immediatly

painted without any further pretreatment• Paint adhesion is excellent• Passivated HDG not painted and stocked in exteriors does not

shows any surface oxidation for at least 2-3 months.• DOLLCOAT SA 119 is allways compatible with any other

potential pretreatment applied after a long external exposition

DOLLCOAT SA 121Chrome free QUALICOAT pretreatment

• DOLLCOAT SA 121 was originallyformulated for aluminium coil conversion

• DOLLCOAT SA 121 is an approvedQUALICOAT pretreatment

• DOLLCOAT SA 121 contains synthesisoligomers in order to improve paintadhesion and chemical corrosion resistence.

• Paint adhesion is a critical problem inaluminium coil specially for the postforming phase. Sometimes this problemcould occours also on twisted profiles

• DOLLCOAT SA 121 could be used also ondie cast aluminium with good results.

Page 42: Dollmar Nanotechnologies Campinas September2011

DOLLCOAT SA 121

Paint adhesion could became a dramatic problem in coil coating

DOLLCOAT SA 113 - EASY TO CLEAN

• Product based on non-fluorinated oligomers• Typical coating thickness < 0,1µm (100nm)• Colorless• UV resistant• Very low surface tension• Excellent scratch resistence• Dollcoat SA 113 could be used on any metal

Page 46: Dollmar Nanotechnologies Campinas September2011

DOLLCOAT SA 113 - EASY TO CLEAN

Finger prints are evident on upper (not treated) part of the steel panel

Page 47: Dollmar Nanotechnologies Campinas September2011

DOLLCOAT SA 113 – antigraffiti

The right side of the steel panel was treated with DOLLCOAT SA 113. His very low surface tension avoid a good adhesion of inks and paints.

Page 48: Dollmar Nanotechnologies Campinas September2011

DOLLCOAT SA 115 on magnesium

DOLLCOAT SA 115 is evident because of the yellow-violet iridescent color change.

Page 49: Dollmar Nanotechnologies Campinas September2011

DOLLCOAT SA 113 on magnesium

DOLLCOAT SA 113 is colorless

Anticorrosive properties are in anycase very good.

This property could be usefull ifan excellent passivation isneeded and it’s not possible topaint the surface.

DOLLCOAT SA 113: corrosion test

The rights side of the iron panel was treated withDOLLCOAT SA 113 and exposed for 150 hrs in NSS
