Dr. Felix Huber, Steinbeis-Transferzentrum Raumfahrt, Stuttgart, will follow Prof. Dr. Klaus Wittmann as head of GSOC in 2009.

German Lunar Mission

- Lunar Exploration Orbiter (LEO)

- Launch: 2012

- Mission Duration: > 4 years

- Orbit: polar < 70 km

- Data Rate: > 500 GBit/day

- Objective: Global high resolution mapping

Areas of interest

As being up to now not involved in building spacecrafts and only responsible for ground operations the main interest of DLR/GSOC still focus on ground related issues.

Areas of interest (2)

Security DLR support the clear planning of the publishing of the upcoming security

books.

Service Management DLR supports the reorganization of the current SM book. One of the main

issues from DLR here is during this process, to keep service management as simple as possible.

LEC DLR supports the setup of a LEC working group. The workplan should be

published for review before end of the year.

Optical links DLR supports the idea of an BOF on optical links to check the need of a

WG in this area.

Remarks on current CCSDS work

RegistrationNew kind of registration with note to the heads of delegations was found helpful for DLR. But there are still registrations with company names or agencies titled others.

Promotion of CCSDS StandardsA section in the CWE should be defined to keep training material as developed for specific WGs as well as CCSDS overview material. (e.g. material presented at SpaceOps,…)
