From the editors’ desk Crazy September 2013 @ Area 2 with the tablers just not stopping at DOing MORE with unlimited events, the 2 Inter table Events and the Fund Raisers to add icing to the cake. The star events for the month were MSRT123’s Inter Table event BOOZE & BRAINS which managed to rattle the brains of the best of Area 2 after they were all boozed out. Lior Surchard and his mesmerizing show kept the audience spellbound thanks to MMRT3 who are on a Fund Raising Marathon this calendar year. 39, 159, 181 too had their Dandia celebrations as a joint fellowship event adding to the Joint Fellowships mania @ A2 which A2Fellowship Convernor Tr.Narendar Shah & A2Inter Table Convenor Tr.Kaushal Shah have been successful in making the A2 DO much MORE. Projects & LAPD too had their share in September’13, especially the interesting Teachers Day lunch box concept, initiated by the Area 2 projects Convernor Tr.Kavalpreet ,which made this month an action packed one. So enjoy reading what you did or what you missed (since there was so much action in Area2). Inter-Table @ Area 2 Badminton @ Pondy Tables: 22nd Sep’13 saw the Pondy Paiyyas battle it out for the best in Badminton – this was also a first of its kind inter table sports event for the Pondicherry Tablers. A fun packed Sunday with a lot of fitness.

BOOZE & BRAINS by MSRT123: 28th Sep’13 saw the best of Area 2, partying, dancing, quizzing – absolutely being themselves DOING MORE at the BOOZE & BRAINS event hosted by MSRT123 & MSLC63. This event was a total entertainer and most of the A2 tables made it. The ones who missed the event will not take a chance to miss it again – this was the quality of the event. Everybody who took part went back smiling and “happy” (with “whose a happy table” ringing in their ears). Mark Rego was an amazing host who kept everyone captivated right from the first ice breaker game of sucking beer from a baby bottle to the different questions. Disco Dandia by MSRT39-MSRT159-MKRT181 A true reflection of Indian Tradition and culture was celebrated in style in Area 2. A joint dinner meet by MKRT 181, MSRT 159 and MSRT 39 hosted by Sonal & Tr.Pratik Shah (MKRT 181), Priya & Tr.Mitesh (MSRT 159), Neetu & Tr.Ankit Gupta (MSRT 39). This fellowship was all about fun, frolic and dancing. Ethnic wear dominated the entire evening bringing out the real charm of our Tablers and Circlers. The twinklers had a great time trying their hand at Dandiya.


LAPD @ Area 2 DO MORE LAPD @ Area2 A2’s very own Tr.Rishi Kapur conducted an “APT” (A Proud Tabler) training module for Area 2 along with National LAPD convener Tr.Brijesh on 21st Sep 2013. The APT was attended by around 20 tablers from various tables of Area. Tables 10, 30, 82, 95, 123, 159, 181 had representation at the APT. It was a fantastic learning experience for all the Tablers. Kudos to the LAPD guru of A2 Varinder “Bobby” Sahwney for co-ordinating this event.

MWRT10 WHY THINGS HAPPEN TO US - by T10 ke guru HT Aloke Mimani an avid follower of infinitheism was the LAPD session for the Tenors. How to control the mind and the thinking process and how one should use positive vocabulary on a day to day basis to increase the positive air around us were the crux of the session - all in all a fantastic session by the fantastic HT.

MCRT94 With guest speaker Mr.Balaji of Kern Consulting and Tr.Rajesh pioneering the Management LAPD session on “What is Identity 2.0?”, this table is surely looking at going high-tech. MSRT123 How Experts Think – was another LAPD on mail by 123. It speaks of how the practiced brain eliminates poor solutions before they reach the conscious mind. Grandmasters have not been grandmasters forever. When they were masters, they played like masters, evaluating more moves more frequently. When they were expert-level players, they played like expert-level players, evaluating even more moves even more frequently, and so on. By evaluating so many moves, grandmasters accumulate so much experience that they can pay selective attention to a game.

What a week end it was !!! With 6 AST (AST's of Area 2,4,6,7,9,10) from 11 Area attending an AST meet convened by A2AST Tr.Vinay Grandhi guided by NS.Suman Voora & NT.Mukesh Lund at the Temple Bay Resort on Being inspired by our National and Area theme, the event was named BELIEVE TO DO MORE. A perfect platform for all ASTs to bond and share their area experience apart from learning a bit of MOMO, partying in A2 style and ofcourse attending A2 table meetings.

Projects @ Area 2 As part of the area project initiative, on Teachers Day, Area Project Convenor Tr.Kavalpreet took the lead, and helped tables gift Lunch Boxes to School teachers, by organizing the lunch boxes with RTI branding/logos. A tribute to the teachers and a brilliant idea by the A2 PC.

MCRT94 Teachers Day | Gift Distribution | Govt. Schools Tablers of MCRT94 visited schools near Sanjeevi and donated Rs.10000/- towards the Teachers Day project. Acknowledgements and wishes were showered by the teachers for the warm gesture of MCRT94 & RTI A2. Schools visited were Karuneelam Govt School, Thirukkachur Govt School, & Thirukkachur Govt High School.

MRT1 Donation of Life Saving Drug | Govt. Children's Hospital, Egmore Ekam foundation was in need of a life saving drug IVIG, which costed 65000/- and was required for a very poor child admitted in Govt. Children's hospital, Egmore. and who other than the big daddy of RTI MRT1 stood up to this and donated the amount. The response from Ch.Manu Wassan was faster than lightning. No wonder they are Table No.1.

MERT30 Teachers Day | Best out of Waste | Giriappa Tution Centre, T.Nagar Teachers day was celebrated on 5th Sep’13 at Giriappa Tution Centre. Dance, Speech, gymnastics, entertainment program were the highlight.Apart from this a session for making the best out of waste - a craft session was organized were Mrs.Khashifa, a mentor, taught students to pencil boxes ouot of waste soft drink bottles - a GO GREEN, LAPD & CS all bundled in one. Shoe Donation | Little Flower Convent School for the blind and deaf, T.Nagar On 20th Sep’13, 30ers met at Little Flower Convent School for the blind and deaf, T.Nagar and distributed 158 pair of shoes to the needy students – aptly the project was named Soles for the Souls.

MMRT42 Teachers Day | Distribution of Lunch Boxes | Pallikaranai Govt School On 5th Sep’13 Teachers day was celebrated at Pallikaranai Govt School and MMRT42 donated 85 lunch boxes ,to the Teachers, which carry RTI Logo.

MSRT123 Teachers Day | Distribution of Lunch Boxes | Hope Foundation On Teachers Day i.e. 5th Sep’13, MSRT123 & MSLC63 distributed the RTI Lunch Boxes to the teachers of HOPE FOUNDATION NURSERY & PRIMARY SCHOOL, OMR. DOing MORE for the teachers, the Table & Circle decided to serve the teachers special Biryani from Cream Centre in the Lunch Boxes. This was an additional effort, thanks to Tr. Bharat Bhandari who sponsored the Biryani as part of the company’s CSR activity. Nutrition Week | Distribution of Health Biscuits | Hope Foundation Nutrition & Hygiene are very important areas for growing children and MSRT123 & MSLC63 decided to distribute health biscuits to the school children at HOPE FOUNDATION NURSERY & PRIMARY SCHOOL, OMR on the 5th of Sep’13. Khelega India, Badhega India | Distribution of Sports Goods | Hope Foundation On 28th Sep’13, the Table & Circle decided to donate Sports goods for the school children as part of the LCI initiative of Khelega India, Badhega India. The presence of LC National President LMF Cr.Pooja Galundia, Area2 Chairperson Cr.Shweta Sampat, National Co-opt Trust Treasurer and Area 2 Projects Convenor Cr.Kajal Chhabria added glamour to the project.

MSRT159 Teachers Day |Donation of Bags | Government (Girls) Sr Sec School, Padapai MSRT159 distributed 38 bags to the teachers of Government (Girls) Sr Sec School, Padapai as part of the Teachers Day project on the 10th of Sep’13. it is indeed heartwarming to see the help rendered to the teachers, who have helped improving the quality of education and develop future of the country.

MKRT181 Support a Child |Education Fees | M/s.Victoria Education Trust A mail requesting help for Ms.Mangairkarasi & M/s.Victoria Education was received through the Area Board and HT Ram immediately mailed the Table that he would like to sponsor their education via MKRT 181. HT Ram as always displayed the true spirit of Tabling and he donated Rs. 11600 towards their college fees. HT Ram leading the way in DOing MORE. Teachers Day | Distribution of Lunch Boxes | EyeCamp | Distribution of Spectacles | Siragu Montessori School MKRT181 distributed 50 RTI Lunch Boxes to the teachers at Siragu Montessori School. They also conducted an eye camp and gave away spectacles courtesy Specsmakers. In total 134 people including teachers and students were screened. Unite for Sight an association that comes forward to promote eye care from the United States of America in association with Pranav eye care centre also supported this event.

Fellowships @ Area 2 A2 DOing MORE in Fellowships As part of the A2 initiative of DOing MORE, A2 Fellowship Convenor Tr.Narendar Shah has been instrumental in making sure all tables DO MORE in the Fellowship Front. Apart from rewarding the Tablers who complete the Jigsaw puzzle of collecting Area Pins and completing it to form the Area Pin, A2FC is giving away Fellowship T-Shirts to the best Fellowship Tabler in every quarter from each table – Procedure: the Chairman of each Table selects the Fellowship Tabler for the Quarter and informs the A2FC, and the Fellowship tabler gets a special Fellowship T-Shirt from the FC – WOW..what an innovative method to not just DO MORE, but enjoy doing more fellowships. Fund Raisers @ Area 2 MMRT3 As part of their annual Fund Raiser, MMRT3 organized the Lior Surchard entertainment evening at Lady Andal on 29th Sep’13. A complete mentalist performing in front of a crown which just did not want him to stop with his tricks. One of the finest shows Chennai has ever witnessed and a fantastic concept for a fund raiser.


MMRT95 Teachers Day |Lunch Boxes Distribution | Gangadevi Bajranglal Chowkani Vivekananda Vidyala MMRT95 distributed Lunch boxed to the teachers to the teachers and they inturn reciprocated by planting 900 saplings as part of the GO Green initiative of MMRT95. Meal for a Child |Guild of Service MMRT95 served Breakfast & Dinner to 65 children at Guid of Service on 30th Sep’13. What better than providing a meal for needy children who are the future of this nation.

MWRT10 Tenors were supposed to meet for cricket, and thanks to the Table Time, all were bang on time for Beer at Presidency club. The Sports Convenor did get a support for the next cricket session, but for this time it was just the exercise of the Beer and for the Belly. It was a Blue Sunday where Tr.Sachin hosted his social at the Park Pod, on 29th Sep’13 and it was indeed cloudy and made the atmosphere a perfect one for a Sunday Fellowship.

MERT30 30ers met at Sathyam Cineplex on 6th Sep’13 where they got to know the Millers “WE are the MILLERS” a hilarious riot comedy of a family mixed up with some drug smuggling. A complete wild humor, a perfect entertainer for a Friday Night show where 14 Tablers & Circlers attended. 14th Sep’13 saw the best of Bollywod music Mohit Chauhan in Chennai and MERT30 were there to rock with him too in large numbers. Cricket time on the 15th Sep’13 at Nets Cricket, City Centre, Chennai. Rains dampen the moods of the cricket lovers, but the boys @ 30 will do just anything to play cricket and so they landed up at the indoor cricketing venue at City Centre for some 'gaaji' we should say. Diwali time and the cards season have begun. MERT30 & MELC100 met up on 20th September'13 for a gala cards night thanks to hosts AMAN & Neha. with 32 heads present it was all Cards + Drinks + Snacks = Total Entertainment. @30 they don’t forget their Sq. Legs - they celebrated the b’day of Sql. Varinder Arya too - may be an easy way to cajole him to play more. It was a Family Outing from 27-30 Sep'13 for 30ers and it was a hectic one indeed where they not only partied and drank till they dropped - they had some entertaining adzap kind of act by the tablers trying to release their television channels. Looks like the Area AGM Informal Night bug has really influenced them. Be it a cage dance, be it a rain dance, or be it shedding a few kilos for the volleyball game - it was a complete family outing and entertainer – GO GOA GONE.


MSRT39 13th Sep’13 and another fellowship in the kitty of MSRT 39 where all laughed their guts out in the movie Grand Masti. 38 heads turned up for this fellowship. An evening filled with laughter and entertainment at the Escape, Satyam Cinemas. 39ers left no stone unturned by DOING MORE FELLOWSHIPPING at Hong Kong along with the President of Hong Kong Tr. Gareth from Hong Kong Round Table 10. One of the unique fellowships was Sky Walk in Macau. A walk on the Macau Tower, 233 meters above the ground, being tied to a rope and walking on a 2 feet path 360 degree around the Tower was no easy task. Thanks GOD has many names so chanting all the names, they completed the 360 degree walk.

MMRT42 A fantastic Sunday Lunch hosted by Tr.Vasu at the scenic ECR farm house which was the backdrop for a lazy Sunday afternoon pool party with Circlers and Twinklers. A perfect time for family bonding. Tr.Vivek Syal and Cr. Saakshi Syal the latest kids on the block @42 hosted their dinner Social on 28th September at the Gymkhana Club. It was a perfect setup for networking and knowing each tabler especially the new guns of 42.

MMRT95 Cr. Sophie & Tr. Hemant hosted yet another fellowship at their terrace on 15th Sep’13, this time, it was to celebrate the success of MMRT95’s success at the AAGM.The guests were treated to homemade Sangria & Tapas by Cr.Sophie. It was a relaxed evening coupled with good weather, good music and good company. There were games for Twinklers & Adults. As usual, dumb charade was the most popular of them all. On 26th Sep’13, the BDO (Boys Day Out) Trip was to Tirumala & SriKalahasti. An amazing early morning VVIP Darshan of Lord Balaji courtesy Ch.Sachin followed by the overnight accommodation organized by Tr. Mohit, which again was five star by Tirumala Standards. This was followed by a surprise darshan, thanks to IPC Rahoul, at SriKalahasti temple followed by a a quick peek into the magnanimous Kalki Temple on the way back. The “Kannan” and Aloo Paratha Stories are best left to AHT.Punit & Tr.Mohit to describe. Tr. Arvind’s dinner meet was held on 21.09.2013 at Hotel President. The theme of the evening was “50 Shades of Black and white”. Post the success and fun at MSRT123’s Booze & Brains, Tablers & Circlers caught up at Taj Connemara coffee Shop for dinner and more.

MCRT94 Lunch Meet with Family and Kids is the ideal Sunday afternoon activity. Hosted by Dr.Atheeshwar Das and Swetha Atheesh at the Beach House where Kids had a ball of a time in the pool. Tablers also celebrated the b’day of Special Invitee Sql..K.S.Senthil Kumar’s in the pool, and as they claim, the water had to be refilled in the pool once Scendy dived in.

Fellowships @ Area 2

MART100 MARTians planned a movie fellowship to watch the Once a upon a time in Mumbai Dobara. Total 12 heads had made it to the movie and they bumped into tables 123 and 3 and it almost became an unofficial inter table event where Ch.Rajiv was seen making his special mix of popcorn. The movie bug even caught the twinklers where they too had their movie fellowship. The flagship extension meet of MART100, The Buddies Meet, a meet aimed at extensions where Tablers can call their friends over and get to know Tabling and Tablers, was held on the 29th of Sep'13 at 10 Downing and was again a huge success. A party was called and that too on weekday, and most of the talers were not up for it, but an out of the way hospitality by Tr.Sanjay ensured maximum attendance. The theme was gangsters and yes all the 100 gangsters were present including Mr. India of 100 Tr.Bhavesh. 13th Sep'13 saw some Grand Masti - thanks to the "R" it makes the name sound grand. A nostalgic feling of back to school days after watching this movie which had complete pun where every scene was morphed to each tablers real life and then began the laugh riot. At 100 they are crazy - so true. A Week with 3 Birthday Fellowships - Tr.Satish Mehta, Tr.Kunal & Tr.Apoorva - what it had in common - a cake facial - ofcourse with new cakes followed by a lot of masti and party.


Fellowships @ Area 2 PRT104 LB2 Party was held on the 22nd Sep’13 after the Shuttle tournament at the LB2 Bar for REHYDRATING the bodies after a serious game. Cr Twinkle and Tr.Shilendra Gupta hosted a party on 15th Sep’13 which was the first social of the year for 104 and it was a great one indeed with water polo matches, T & sumptuous dinner to top it all. 104ers joined the Circle for lunch at Suguru on 18th Sep’13. A treat by the Circle – quite an

MSRT123 an 7th Sep’13 After distributing lunch boxes to teachers @ Hope Foundation School (Teacher's Day project) and biscuit packets to the kids (World Nutrition Day project), 123ers headed to Kilpling Cafe for a lazy lunch where they got a glimpse of actor Vikram and his R8. What else can a man ask for – hope they mean the R8. Tr.Bharat’s had plans to have quiet b’day with his family, but 123ers are non-sparing and gate crashed once they got to know his ware bouts. They made themselves comfortable in the swimming pool and then what they made of him is history. On 9th Sep’13, 123ers visited Tr.Vikrams Residence for the Ganesha Pooja and they were treated with the best of food after the pooja. All got to see the exclusive car collection of Tr.Vikram and the amazing art works of Cr.Hema. 19th Sep’13, and 123ers made sure they were seen at Hagen Daz to celebrate Tr.Vikram’s b’day. It was a complete sweet treat for all tablers, circlers and twinklers. Sports & 123 go a long way and these young boys decided to meet at Tr.navals residence for a game of snooker. After finally managing to get into the correct room in the mansion, the tablers got going with the game and Tr. Vikram did have is last ball. On 24th Sep’13, Cream Centre was the venue for Booze & Brains discussion session before the gala A2 Inter table took final shape on 28th Sep’13. A crisp presentation by AKD and crisper Cream Centre snacks made the evening a memorable one. If all of the above was not enough, take this – Cr.Divya pesala, one of the best chefs around in A2, thought of challenging herself on her b’day. More than 40 dishes were prepared and all of 123, 63, twinklers, HT’s, SQL’s were invited to her residence on 27th Sep13. Its just 1…2…3..GO..
