General Information

Eventful is a Premium Wordpress Theme developed to create events-

oriented websites. Takingadvantage of the powerful custom-post-type

feature in Wordpress (v 3.0 and above), we created acomplex platform

that can handle events, locations and artists with a bundle of features

and options. Eventful - Events Premium Wordpress Theme is sold

through MoJo-Themes.com website.

How-to use Eventful

While Eventful - Premium Wordpress Theme is an intuitive platform

we strongly recommend reading the Documentation before

installation.Youwill find many interesting things and it will also provide

answers to many of thequestions you might have.

EventfulOptions

InWordpress Dashboard click on wpEventfulin left-hand menu. Here

you will see a list of customizable features accessible through DWS

ConfigurationPanel. Anothergreat featureintroduced in version 1.3

is the Import / Exportof your theme configuration. Pleasesee below for

more details.

7General Settings

These are the most important features of the theme that you can

modify in order to create a website that reflects your company's

identity or your personaltaste.

Select theme:Youcan select between 3predefinedthemes (Main Style

Theme, Vintage Style Theme and Dark Style Theme) created to cover a

variety of colors andbackgrounds.

Custom Frontend CSS: This text area field will allow you to create

custom CSS in order to further customize your theme.Just find the

class you want to modify and enter de adequate CSS to change the

style. (Optionintroducedin version1.3.)

Your Logo: Youcan upload your .png transparent logo.

Recommended size:should not be bigger than width: 320px; height:100px.

Logo type: This option allows you to choose between Text Type Logo

or Image Type Logo. If you select Image Type Logo you must also

upload a .png transparent file (seeabove) withyou logo. Text Logo Type

option will display the title of your website, that you can modify in

Dashboard > Settings > General.

Custom Text: Custom text that will show in a special box on your

website.If you leave thisfieldempty, the box will not be displayed.

Contact info: insert your email,phone number and address. This

informationwillbedisplayed on your front-endsite so use only public

information.

CopyrightInfo: Insert your custom copyright text. This field will

display htmlcode in the footerbarbefore Developer Link information.

9Developer Link: Insert your developer website or any information

about thecustomization of your theme. This field will display htmlcode

in the footerbar next to copyrightinformation.

Display ads in sidebar: If you click to activate this options, you willbe

able to display theadvertisingcode you have insertedin the field below

- AdvertisingCode.

Advertising code: Here you can insert a wide variety of advertising

codes,from simplebanner links to AdSensecode in order to monetize

your website.

Recommended size:should not be bigger than width: 260px.

Analytics code: This will be use in the header to help you track your

visitors.

404 - Page Not FoundCustomText:By default, Eventful has a 404

error message. Using thisfield will allow you to change the text/html

code you will display to your visitors on error pages.

Backgrounds & Colors

This menu allows you to customize the background and offers a vast

list of color options .

Header/FooterOptions

Background image: Here you can upload your favorite background.

After you upload your imagemake sure you press Save changes button

in order to see modifications to your website.

Background option (Repeat/No-Repeat/Repeat-X/Repeat-Y): Repeat

will repeat on both y and x axis the background image you uploaded,

repeat-Xwill repeat the image on X axis (horizontal)and repeat-Ywill

Bottom Bar OptionsText Color: text color for the Bottom footer bar. This color setting is

also used in other websiteareas with inverted background color.

Link Color: link color for the Bottom footer bar. This color setting is

also used in otherwebsite areas with inverted background color.

Link Hover Color: sets color of link hover instance for the Bottom

footer bar. This color setting is also used in other website areas with

inverted background color.

This menu allows you to easily customize the type and the size of the

fonts youll be using in various areas of your website. Press Save

Settings to apply changes. To revert to a default state press the Reset

button.

Header - Page Title

Font: Select a font for the headerpage title.

FontSize:Select the font size for the header page title.

Body - Section Titles

Font: Select a font for the body section title heading.

FontSize: Select the font size for the body section titleheadings.

Body - Sidebar Titles

Font:Select a font for the body sidebartitlesheadings.

FontSize: Select the font size for the body sidebar titles headings.

fonts sizes, letter spacing and colors from General Settings > Custom

Frontend CSS.

Social Networks

In version 1.4.2 of Eventful - Premium Wordpress Theme you can use

six social network iconsthat will link to your Social Accounts.

Slider Options

You can select between two sliders on frontpage: Flash - Piecemaker

3D and jQuery - CoinSlider. Both sliders will display images uploaded

from Events,Locations orArtists.

Please read chapter "Custom fields" in this documentation for more

details on how to sendcontent to these sliders.

Contact/Booking

Informationprovided here willbe used to send confirmation emails on

both Booking system and Contact form. As an additional feature, you

can activate/deactivatethebookingsystem on yourwhole website.

In version 1.3 we introduced a Custom Message text area field where

you can customize themessage you send to users that book an events.

This feature uses shortcodes to customize:

[DWS_BOOKING_NAME] Name of the person that made the

reservation.

[DWS_BOOKING_PHONE] Telephonenumber of the person that

madethe reservation.

[DWS_BOOKING_COMMENT] Booking comments and additional

information.

[DWS_BOOKING_SEAT_NO] Number of seatsbooked.

[DWS_BOOKING_EVENT_TITLE] Name of the event.

Import / Export

In version 1.3 we introduced a new great feature: Import / Export your

theme configuration. If you wish to reinstall the theme, now you can

save your settings and reload them whenever you need them. This

feature is a powerful tool so use it carefully because will overwrite any

settingsthat werentexported.

When you click on ExportSettings button, the theme will generate a .txt

file that you can download.After you finish your reinstalljustbrowse

for theme_export.txtand click Upload file and importButton.

EventsManagement

Events management on Eventful Premium Wordpress Theme is based

on Custom Post Type feature available in Wordpress +3.0. When you

want to add a new event is recommended to have basic knowledge of

the administrationpanelin Wodpress.

Step 1 - go to the left-hand menu in administration panel and click on

the Eventsbutton

Step 2 - In the drop-downmenu click on Add Eventlink

Step 3 - Enteryou title in the appropriate field

Step 4 - Add a descriptionto your new event

Step 5 - In"Event Date and Time Info" box click on the "From:" field and

a calendar will appear.Selectyour desired date and then shift the slides

to the right in order to set the starting hour and minutes of your

event. Repeat in "To:" field the same procedure to set the end

date/hour/minutes. From version 1.4 you can now display the period of

events with start/end date.

21You can leave these fields empty but your event will be visible in the

front-end of your website just in the selected category.

Step 6 - Select or create a new category that fits your event.

Step 7 - Select a featured image for your event. If you do not add an

image to your event, Eventful will add a default "no-image" picture.

Since Wordpress does such a good job to resize images we would only

want to recommend you not to use imagesbigger then 1400px widthor

tocheck the file upload limit on your server.

Step 8 In the "Features" box if you click the "Featured"option, this

event will be displayed in "Featured Events" slider available on the

front-end.

Steps 9-10 - In order to display your article in the main slider

(Flash/jQuery)available onhome-page, you must activatethe "Enable in

Front-page Slider" option. Also, you must upload an image of 960px

width and 360px height for your event.

Step 11 - In the "Tag Artist" box you can add as many artists or

performers as you want. All the artists inserted here will be

automatically linkedto the event.

24Step 12 - In order to display Booking Form on this event you must

select "Enable Booking" in "Booking Information" box. Also, please

remember to add the number of places/seats available for booking.

Once the number ofreservations is equal to number of seats, Eventful

will display a "Sold Out" message to your visitors.

Step 13 - In "Location" box enter the name of the location hosting this

event. This will link your event to a specific location that you can

add/edit after you publishyour event.

Step 14 - Publish your event and you will be able to see it on your

website.

Shortcode Description

Accordions In Eventful Theme you can easily create accordions in a multitude of styles and

sizes. Using the Accordions Shortcode you can create specification lists, FAQs or

any other content that needs interactive lists.

Blockquotes

and Special

Boxes

With blockquotes and boxes you can redirect viewers attention to certain

content areas. In Eventful Theme you have the ability to select between three

types of blockquotes and four special boxes. Using these shortcodes with

columns options you can create hundreds of layout variations.

Columns With columns shortcodes you can create a unique layout for each page. You can

use these shortcodes in order to format any kind of content: text, images, lists,

tables, videos, etc. You can combine these in a bunch of possibilities. Bellow

you can see simple text column in action:

Dropcaps You can use these six Dropcaps shortcodes to lead your viewers, usually, into a

paragraph.

29Headings Using headers you can style in a canonical way your content and attract

viewers attention to important sections of your pages. In Eventful Theme you

can use H1H6 heading in various contexts.

Highlights If you need to attract viewers eyes on a specific area of text, you can use

Highlights Shortcode. In Eventful Theme you can set four different kind of

highlights w/o colored background.

Image Effects Using Images Shortcode you can apply four kinds of effects on your images.

Using these features of Eventful Theme you will improve the design of your

webpage.

Lists Eventful Theme now offers you eight different list styles: Simple Arrow, Black

Arrows, Stars, Pluses, Horizontal Bars, Dots, Down Arrows and Checks. Using

columns shortcodes you can group lists by length, combine them with other

content such as images, text and/or video. Bellow you can see simple lists in

action.

Miscellaneous

- Teaser

MiscellaneousTeaser Shortcode adds a special paragraph. This is ideal for

highlighting a catch phrase or a glimpse of your article. It is best to use this

option at the beginning of your post.

Slideshow Another great way to display Image content on your page, beside galleries, is a

slideshow. Slideshows are also extremely flexible letting you customize optionssuch as speeds, animations and opacity.

Spacers In order delimitate content through-out the page, you can select between two

options: Horizontal Line Spacer and Div Spacer. The first option adds a

horizontal line inside you content area and the second option gives you more

space between paragraphs, when used.

Tables You can choose between three table styles when you need to present various

data such as reports, statistics or any other kind of content. Just insert your

table inside of the appropriate shortcodes in order to style your tables.

30Tabs Tabs Shortcode offers you the possibility to create both vertical and horizontal

jQuery tabs. This feature will permit you to group related content and will

reduce the scroll on a certain page.

Video Embeds In Eventful Theme you can now insert video content from Youtube and/or

Vimeo. The Video Embeds Shortcode adds a video using only the

Youtube/Vimeo ID. You can also set multiple other options depending on your

video host.

These Shortcodes can be used in many variations and combinations

accordingly to your needs andexpectations. In order to take advantage

of these new features we added a new meta-box calledShortcodes

available in Posts, Pages, Events,Locations and Artists.Yousimply have

to select therequiredoptionand you will be guidedstepby step.

We advise you to insertyour Shortcodes usingthe method described

above in order to avoidscriptsrelated errors. Also, it isbest that you

have abasic understandingof HTML.

31Menus & Navigation

Eventful - Events Premium Wordpress Theme - comes with a couple of

modifications to the original Wordpress menu system in order to

facilitate the use of features such as Events, Artists and Locations

(CustomPosts Type) . See imagebelow:

In order to customize your website's main menu you must go to

administration, left-hand menu, click on Appearance > Menus.

Immediately you shouldsee 4 additionaloptionboxes/panels:

Location Categories, Event Categories, Artist Categories and Custom

Post Types. In order to insert into your menu the main features

(Events/Locations/Artists) you must go to Custom Post Types box and

click on all 3 options (Locations/Events/Artists). When you are finished

pressthe "Add to menu"button and the selected custom post types will

be added to your menu (rightpanel).

To add sub-navigation to your custom post types just go to Location

Categories, Event Categories, Artist Categories and click on the

categories you want to add to the menu. After you select all your

desiredcategories,go to the rightside panel and move your categories

(drag-and-drop) under theadequateCustomPost Type. After you are

finishedjustpress on Save Menubutton and go to your website and

check the new menu.

Anotherthing you should be aware is that in Eventful - EventsPremium

Wordpress Theme - Default Posts are used as Blog Items. So, the

Categoriesbox in this sectionwill refer to Blog Categories.

Inorder to set-up a link in your menu to your blog we recommend the

following method:

In administration go to the Left-Hand Menu and click on Pages>Add

New. Enterthe titleof your blog (ex. My Blog) and then go to the Page

Attributes panel and at the Select Template box choose "Blog

Template".

Click on the Publish button and return to Appearance>Menus.Here, go

to the Pages panel and select My Blog and press the Add to Menu

button; then go to Categories and click on theblog categories you want

34to add to the menu. When you are finished click the Add to Menu

button and go to the right-hand panel to arrange the newly added

categories under "My Blog"item. When you are ready, just press "Save

Menu" and go to your websiteto check the new menu.

If one or more panels referred in this documentation are not initially

available, click on Screen Options and select them by checking the

adequate checkbox.

Sidebars

In Eventful - Events Premium Wordpress Theme - you can find 6

sidebars:

Events Sidebar - can be found in Events Custom Post Type related

pages such as EventsArchives,EventsCategories and Single Event

Footer Sidebar - this sidebar is inserted in the footer of you website

and it was designed to acceptlist type widgets

display any widget. In the original design this sidebar was created to

incorporate the latest featured Artist.

Artists Sidebar - can be found in Artists Custom Post Type related

pages such as ArtistsArchives,ArtistsCategories and Single Artist

Locations Sidebar - can be found in Locations Custom Post Type

related pages such as Locations Archives, Locations Categories and

Single Locations

Blog Sidebar - is used in blog sections and defaultpages.

Events Calendar

from version 1.3 we introduced this new feature

that allows you to insert an Ajax Calendar to your website. This will

permit you and your websites visitorsto easily navigatethrough events

using a calendar.

Upcoming Events its a list of the latest 5 Upcoming Events that can

be displayed in all sidebarsexcept the FooterSidebar. The list contains

Event's image,titleand the date of the event.

Featured Artist - displays the latest featured artist withpicture, title

and short description and the latest3 events in which the artist was

CustomCategories- you can select the custom post type you need to

theme and handles the values set in Wordpress Dashboard. It is

recommended to avoid modifyingthisfile.

If you wish to modify the look of your theme we suggest to create a

System of Wordpress. You can use Administration Panel > Settings >

Permalinks to set your preferred link structure. Allpredefined Common
