Individual ProductLimited Warranty3M warrants to the Distributor, GraphicsManufacturer and End User for whoma graphic was produced that each3M Product will be free of the defectslisted below and manufactured to thespecications described in the applicableProduct Bulletin in effect at the time ofpurchase. Additional warranties, if any,offered by the Distributor or GraphicsManufacturer are separate and exclusiveof the 3M Warranty.

Expected Performance LifeExpected Performance Life is a reliableexpectation of the period of time that theunprinted, unprocessed 3M Product shouldperform satisfactorily for its intendedpurpose when applied to at, verticalsubstrates in a non-abusive environment.Expected Performance Life is not awarranted period of time.

Defect CoverageThis coverage applies only when thedefect results in the 3M Product notmeeting the description stated in theapplicable Product Bulletin and whethersuch defects affect the usefulness ofthe Graphic as determined by customaryindustry standards.

Physical Defects . Defects incurredduring 3M manufacturing processes,packaging or shipment.

Manufacturing Defects . Visualand adhesive defects due to 3Mmanufacturing processes.

Graphic Appearance Defects. Defectssuch as excessive dimensional changeor loss of adhesion or reectivity thatmakes the graphic visually unsuitable forits intended purpose when viewed withthe intended lighting, angle and distancefor such a graphic, as determined bycustomary industry standards.

Warranty Limitations3M Product Bulletins may includelimitations specic to the 3M Product(s)being used or its intended applications,which take precedence over any statement

These limitations apply when the BasicProduct Warranty is the only warrantyoffered, and are due to factors over which3M has no control, including the widevariety of ink, printing and manufacturingprocesses that may be employed.

Fitness for Use Limitation . 3M mayrecommend but does not warrant tnessfor any particular use or any particularcompatible products.

Product Misuse Limitation. Thiswarranty does not cover graphicproducts that are modied or damagedthrough improper storage, misuse,

abuse, accident, vandalism, neglector mishandling of processed orunprocessed products by any person.

Printing and Visual AppearanceLimitation. No warranty is given forsatisfactory printing, including but notlimited to type or manufacturer of ink,color delity or density.

Adhesion, Changeability andRemovability Limitation. No warranty isgiven for initial or long term adhesion orthe ease or efciency of removing a lm

identied as changeable or removable. Damage to the Substrate. No warranty

is given for damage to the substrate dueto the effect of the adhesive, ink bleedthrough or fading.

Remedies andLimitation of Liability3Ms sole liability under the terms ofthe Basic Product Warranty is creditor replacement of the 3M Product. 3Mrequires samples of the defective 3MProduct and the return of the remainingunused 3M Product before a claim isevaluated for approval.

Warranty PeriodThe Warranty Period for the 3MPerformance Guarantee is a period oftime during which 3M guarantees thatthe 3M Products used in a graphic,but not the OEM ink and therefore not thenished graphic, will perform as stated inthe 3M Base Films current Product Bulletinwhen the 3M Product is processed, usedand applied according to 3Ms Product andInstruction Bulletins.

Defect Coverage for all3M Graphic ProductsThis coverage applies only when the defectresults in the 3M Product not meeting thedescription stated in the applicable ProductBulletin and whether such defects affectthe usefulness of the Graphic as determined

by customary industry standards.

Physical Defects. Defects incurredduring manufacturing, packagingor shipment.

Manufacturing Defects. Visual andadhesive defects that prevent usingthe Product as described in its ProductBulletin, including adhesion to therecommended substrates and removalwhen using removable or changeablelm.

Printing Defects. Artifacts or misprintsthat occur due to a defect in the 3MProduct when printing on 3M GraphicFilms specied in the 3M PerformanceGuarantee Matrix and using the3M-qualied printers and OEM inks.

Cutting Defects . Clean cutting andweeding characteristics when cutas recommended in the lmsProduct Bulletin.

Graphic Appearance Defects . Defectssuch as excessive dimensional change,loss of adhesion or loss of reectivityof 3M Graphic Films that makes thegraphic visually unsuitable for itsintended purpose when viewed withthe intended lighting, angle anddistance for such a graphic.

Improper Substrate PreparationLimitation. 3M does not warrant3M Product failure that resultsfrom an improperly cleaned andprepared substrate.

Paint Staining Limitation. 3M doesnot warrant vehicle paint staining thatmay be visible after removing an inkjetprinted graphic with an overlaminate.

Remedies andLimitation of Liability3Ms sole liability under the terms of thePerformance Guarantee is replacementor credit for the defective 3M Productswithin the Warranty Period of the Product.3M requires that samples of the failure besubmitted when a claim is made and beforea remedy is offered.

Finished ProductLimited Warranty3M further warrants to the End User forwhom a graphic was produced that whengraphics are made using exclusively 3MGraphics Products, 3M will honor allwarranties extended to the Distributoror Graphics Manufacturer who sold orproduced the graphics as described inthe applicable 3M Product and InstructionBulletins in effect at the time of the Productpurchase. Additional warranties, if any,offered by the Distributor or GraphicsManufacturer are separate and exclusive

from the 3M Warranty.

Warranty Period forFinished GraphicsThe Warranty Period is the period of timeduring which 3M guarantees that whenall 3M Products are used in a graphicconstruction, the graphic construction willperform as stated in the 3M Base Film orSubstrates current Product Bulletin whenthe 3M Products are processed, used andapplied according to 3Ms Product andInstruction Bulletins.

the recommended substrates. Printing and Ink Defects . Artifacts

or misprints over which the graphicsmanufacturer has no control whenprinting on 3M Graphic Film or 3MFlexible Substrate with the recommended3M Inks or 3M Toners and relatedimaging equipment.

Cutting Defects. Clean cutting andweeding characteristics when cutas recommended in the applicable3M Product Bulletin.

Finished Graphic Appearance Defects. Defects, including those attributedto 3M ink, such as excessive fading,discoloration, cracking, crazing, peeling,blistering, excessive dimensional changeor loss of adhesion or reectivity thatmakes the graphic visually unsuitable forits intended purpose when viewed withthe intended lighting, angle and distancefor such a graphic, as determined bycustomary industry standards.

Warranty Limitations3M Product Bulletins may includelimitations specic to the 3M Product(s)being used or its intended applications,which take precedence over any statement

De ned End Uses Limitation. Thiswarranty only applies to 3M GraphicsProducts that are used by knowledgeableand skilled graphics manufacturers and

installers for the end uses and in thecombinations described in the applicable3M Product and Instruction Bulletins.For any other use, the user is responsiblefor determining the suitability of theProduct and for any and all risk or liabilityassociated with that use or application.

3M MCS Warranty

Product Misuse Limitation. Thiswarranty does not cover graphic productsor nished graphics that are modiedor damaged through improper storage,misuse, abuse, accident, vandalism,neglect or mishandling of processed orunprocessed products by any person.

Adhesion to ApplicationSurfacesLimitation.This warrantydoes not coverthe graphicor damage to the substrate because thelayers of the substrate (such as a clearcoat and paint on a metal substrate)separate due to a lower bond betweenthose layers than the bond between thegraphic and the top layer of the substrate.

Weathering Effects Limitation. Somedegradation of 3M Products and FinishedGraphics over time is considered normalwear. 3M warrants that at the end ofthe Warranty Period, the graphics willbe in commercially-acceptable servicecondition from normal viewing distancesand the 3M Graphic Products will retaintheir stated properties.

Printhead Limitation. 3M does notwarrant the performance of printheads.Contact the printer manufacturer forevaluation of any problem.

Improper Substrate PreparationLimitation. 3M does not warrant productfailure that results from an improperlycleaned and prepared substrate.

Paint Staining Limitation. 3M does notwarrant vehicle paint staining that maybe visible after removing an inkjet printedgraphic with an overlaminate.

Glass Breakage Limitation. Thiswarranty does not cover glass breakage.

Special Defect Coverage andWarranty Limitations for3M Panaex Awning andSign Facing Material and3M Panagraphics Flexible SubstrateThese Defect Coverages and WarrantyLimitations apply only to 3M FlexibleSubstrates and are in addition to otherDefect Coverages and Warranty Limitationsdescribed in this document.

Seam or Splice Failure. When using areliable, professional hardware systemthat is specically designed for mountingexible sign materials that meets local,state and national codes, is properlydesigned and the awning or sign isinstalled by a professional sign installer,3M warrants that awning or sign faceseams or splices made by 3M or itsapproved fabricators will not separate,the facing will not delaminate, applied 3Mgraphics will not have excessive crackingor peeling, and the nished graphic will

not excessively stretch, wrinkle or sag forthe Warranty Period.

Blowout. An internally-illuminated signface up to 625 square feet (56.25 squaremeters) will not be damaged by windsup to the velocities that the sign cabinetis designed to withstand. Blowout isdened as the failure of a seam or splice,tearing of the 3M Product, or separationof a sign face from its cabinet due towind pressure that does not affect thedisplay cabinet or structure when

3M recommended installation proceduresare followed.

Mildewing. These 3M Products will notpromote mildew growth, and any such

growth will be non-invasive and cleanableby following the 3M-recommendedcleaning instructions.

Wicking . These 3M Products will resistwicking, which is the absorption ofdirt and contaminants by the internalreinforcing fabric.

Remedies and Limitations of Liability.3M does not warrant the following items.

Also see the Warranty Limitations andRemedies and Limitations of Liability inthe following section of this brochure.

Damage due to force majeure, such asabnormally high winds or objects beingblown against the sign face.

Damage to an awning or sign facedue to improper frame or sign cabinetconstruction, installation or tensioning.

The reapplication of new graphics toan existing awning or sign face.

Cleaning with a pressure washer.

Wicking when the 3M Product isnot discolored.

Vandalism.

Offering peace of mindto discriminating users.

Remedies and Limitationsof Liability3M Products. For any 3M Graphic Productthat does not meet the above warrantyterms (for approved warranty claims),upon timely notification, 3Ms soleresponsibility, and the Distributor,Graphics Manufacturer and End Usersexclusive remedy shall be at 3Ms option:(A) Credit the full purchase price of all 3MProducts used to produce the graphic; or(B) Replace all 3M Products consumedin the manufacture of the graphics.

No Extension of Warranty. In the caseof an approved warranty claim, thereplacement graphic or 3M Products

carry only the remaining term of theoriginal graphic or 3M Products WarrantyPeriod as stated in the applicable3M Product Bulletin.

Special Reimbursement Remedies forSpecic Approved Warranty Claims Removable and Changeable Films

Removal Remedy. Does not include FleetLabor claims. If the 3M Film describedin the applicable 3M Product Bulletin asRemovable or Changeable cannot besuccessfully removed or an excessive

amount of adhesive residue remains onthe surface exceeding the expectationsset in the Base Films Product Bulletin,3M will reimburse the purchaser forreasonable and documented additionalcosts over and above normal labor costsfor removal for approved warranty claims.

Labor Reimbursement Remedy forStraight Trucks, Semi-Tractors andSemi-Trailers Covered by the LifetimeWarranty. This remedy is offeredexclusively to the original graphics

purchaser with these limitations: (a) thegraphics are made from one of the 3MProducts listed below, and (b) appliedto new Straight Trucks, Semi-Tractorsand Semi-Trailers that (c) are still ownedby the original graphics purchaser. Theproducts included in this Remedy are thefollowing 3M Films in white and selectedcolors as described in the applicable3M Product Bulletin: 3M Controltac Graphic Films (with and without Comply

Adhesive) 180, 180C, 180Cv2, 8620,8620C, and 3M Scotchlite ReectiveGraphic Film (with and without Comply

Adhesive) 680, 680CR. For applicationsthat meet these requirements, 3M willreimburse a reasonable portion of the

direct costs, based on the pro-rated3M Product replacement and laborreimbursement described in the BaseFilms Product Bulletin, to remove,remake and reapply graphics thatmeet these requirements for approvedwarranty claims.

Paint Refurbishing Remedy forCommercial Vehicle and Recreational

Vehicles. Does not include PersonalVehicles Claims. When (a) graphicsare made using exclusively3M-recommended removable orchangeable lms, products andprocedures, and (b) there is proof thatthe 3M Pre-Installation Inspection andRecord (available in 3M InstructionBulletin 5.36) was completed, includingphotographs of the vehicle, before thegraphics were installed, 3M will paya portion of the reasonable costs ofrefurbishing painted surfaces when thevehicle surface is damaged during lmremoval (not including damage caused bytools or chemicals) for approved warranty

claims. 3Ms coverage will not exceedtwo times (2X) the cost of 3M Productsused to mark an individual vehicle andwill be limited to an annual disbursementof no more than 2% of the graphicsmanufacturers total 3M Productspurchased during the calendar yearfor the production of vehicle graphics.This limitation applies to eachmanufacturers total purchases for alllocations. The amount of total purchasesdoes not accumulate and cannot becarried over to future years.

Labor Reimbursement RemedyLimitations. None of the reimbursementremedies described above includescoverage for the following:

Labor reimbursement for graphicscovered by any 3M warranty except the3M MCS Warranty.

Compensation for machine burden,overhead, travel, supervision, lost protsor other consequential damages.

Compensation for damage to thefollowing substrates resulting fromgraphic removal, even when using aremovable or changeable graphic lm.

Any interior painted architectural

surface (for example, walls). Any surface that has a pre-existing

unstable or unsound paint orsurface finish.

Any surface that has damage,improperlyrepaired damage, ordamage that occurs while thegraphic is in use, such as holesin walls or body damage on eetor vehicles.

3M MCS Warranty

Denitions Adhesive Changeable Easily removable with no heat and no adhesive residue.

Permanent Not intended to be removed.

Removable Film is removable when heat is used within the specied time period and leaves nomore than 10% adhesive residue on at and simple curves without rivets, and nomore than 30% adhesive residue on rivets and corrugations.

Pressure Activated Adhesive is slideable and repositionable until rm pressure is applied. NOTE: Reective lms with pressure-activated adhesive are slideable only.

Pressure Sensitive Adheres upon contact; is not slideable or repositionable.

Base Film The 3M lm or exible substrate that is decorated with printing or other cut lm tocreate a graphic.

Exposure U.S. Vertical Exposure The face of the graphic is +/ 10 from vertical.

U.S. Non-vertical Exposure The face of the graphic is greater than 10 from vertical and greater than 5 fromhorizontal. This includes non-vertical surfaces of vehicle wraps or eet graphics.

U.S. Horizontal Exposure The face of the graphic is +/ 5 from horizontal.

U.S. Desert Southwest Exposure Any outdoor graphic exposed to solar energy more than half of the daylight hoursin Arizona, New Mexico and the desert areas of California, Nevada, Utah and Texas

is subject to reduced warranties. A detailed map is available at 3Mgraphics.comunder Warranties.

Finished Graphic A graphic that has been applied to the intended substrate and is consideredfully nished.

Graphic Construction The products used to make a graphic, which may include lm and/or exiblesubstrate, graphic protection, ink, printer and application tape.

Graphic Protection Overlaminate lms or clear coats used to protect the graphic and/or change gloss.

Graphic Types Indoor Signs Stationary graphics applied indoors and not exposed to the elements.

Outdoor Signs Stationary graphics applied outdoors and exposed to the elements.

OEM Labels and decorative graphics produced for and used by original equipmentmanufacturers.

Vehicle Vehicle. Buses, vans, passenger vehicles, delivery trucks, pickup trucks, enclosedtrailers. Certain restrictions may apply as noted in the applicable Product Bulletin.

Straight Trucks, Semi-Tractors and Semi-Trailers. Straight trucks, semi-tractorsand semi-trailers used for commercial business purposes. Excludes air shields. Maybe eligible for a Lifetime Warranty.

Recreational Vehicle (RV). Vehicles used for personal pleasure, such as campers,motor homes and trailers, that are not used in connection with any commercial orbusiness enterprise.

Watercraft. Boats intended for personal pleasure such as runabouts and speedboatshaving aluminum and/or smooth berglass/gel coat bodies, including boats usedin shing tournaments and off-shore racing boats, but not 1 to 3 person personalwatercraft or other boats used in connection with commercial or business enterprise.3M specically excludes all other recreational vehicles from this denition.

Rail. Rail cars and lead cars of trains, light rail and subways, but notlocomotives or engines.

Floor Graphics Printed graphics with a slip-resistant overlaminate that are applied to selected indooroor surfaces.

Sidewalk Signs Printed graphics with a slip-resistant overlaminate that are applied to selectedoutdoor pedestrian walkway surfaces.

First Surface Film applied to a substrate so the viewer sees the lm/image before the substrate.

Second Surface Film applied to a substrate so the viewer sees through the substrate to the lm/image.
