G-G-G (Goal line Give and Go)Objective: Passing. Catching. Moving w/o the ball. Shots on goal. How it Works: Based on a hockey drill. Balls up top, split between 2 lines. 1 player on cone located on the starting side of the drill, slightly behind the net. Drill starts with a pass from the line on the right down to the player behind the goal. Once the pass is made, player who threw cuts to the goal. Player who received pass feeds ball back to cutting player, who catches and shoots QUICKLY(avoid cradling to the crease…) Once shot is made, shooter runs to other cone to receive pass from the player in line on opposite side. Once pass is received and pass made, proceed to end of line. (Note: have coaches back up plays)

Ball
Iron ManObjective: Passing. Catching. Ground Balls. Conditioning. How it Works: Great drill with lots of touches for everyone. Groups of 4. 2 balls for each group. 2 players start in the middle, back to back, with the two balls. On the whistle, players in the middle pass balls to players at the ends. Middle players then run around end players, who roll the ball for a ground ball for the running player. Once player scoops ball, he/she continues to the other end, passes to the end player, and repeats process. Switch players on ends and middle frequently.

Full Field MotionObjective: Passing. Catching. Moving to the ball. Shooting. Clearing. How it Works: Ball starts with the goalie. Goalie yells “clear”, releasing player from line “A” to break up field and receive pass from goalie. Once line “A” player controls ball, player in line “B” releases up field to receive pass (after passing, player from line A enter Line B). Once player from line “B” controls ball, player from line “C” breaks towards the ball to receive pass. Line B player then breaks to goal, receives pass from Line C player and shoots (Line B player goes to Line C, Line C Player goes to Line D). Goalierecovers shot and lay begins again. Drill works best with 2 balls going at one time. (Lines A, B, C going one way, Lines D, E, F going the other.)

West Genesee 4-3 (Alt 3-2)Objective: Passing. Catching. Moving to the ball. Shooting. Conditioning. How it Works: 3 defenders (O’s) in position in front of a goal. 4 attackers (X’s) rush down length of field with ball. Creates odd man situation. Attackers attempt to score with ball movement to open man. At shot, change in possession, dropped ball, or whistle, all 3 defenders AND last attacker to handle ball (in this example, x1, the shooter) leave field. Three remaining attackers (x2, x3, x4) retreat and are now on defense. 4 new attackers (now O’s) take ball length of field to score. Repeat cycle.
