TJkg kingdom Come{ The material for this book was published serially in me Beacon

Light, last year, and presented to the public in book form in October; and has created something of a sensation among thinkers, especially

among men and women who are leaders among leaders. We.have le t- . tors from ministers of many denominations, and the book has only been Out about 30 days os this is written. Metaphysical students of many schools have proclaimed it the Book of the Age,

Let me quote one of the many enthusiastic testimonials, received from Or. Juno Kayy Walton, daughter of Julie Seton, internationally known Truth teacher, and herself president of California Institute of Numerical Research Inc. and the acknowledged leoder in the field of numerology: 1

“Dear Mr. Kullgren: Congratulations! Too have put out a wonderful book.It la colorful and attractive from the first glance, and the Bible references quoted make it very valuable.

“ It le gratifying to toe to know that the Letters axe now In book form for all to read; they are too valuable to be given only to the few, and this is written with bo much sincerity, lore and sweetness. I first received them in 1934, and at that time it seemed an impossibility that a greater war could come, or any of the prophecies of change could come. But year by year I have seen the | prophecies come true, and there to every reason now to believe the rest will lik e-f wtm be true, .

“There to nothing to fear in the prophecy of change; instead, they give a feeling of joy, that so aoon the old. false ways of living and the unfair methods ’ of business and politics will' be a thing of the past. Then we will alt share tat a * happier world, good to live in.”

Thy Kingdom Come' contains a m essage of hope for a- despairing world, for It gives the workable econom ic plan of the future; a divine blue prin t of God's plan for the hum an race, based on the laws of God, or if you prefer the Sows of Nature.

This «s the goal of oil idealists, and this plan should appeal to all sincere seekers for a workable solution to the world's problems.

W ORLD GOVERNMENTCHAS. W. PHILLIPS in “The Individualist

During the past year a great deal has been included in these bulletins showing some of the different aspects of world government as contemplated by those who have taken it upon themselves, for business reasons or otherwise, to plan for the new world order. Excerpts from books, articles and speeches were also quoted which showed that the main features of the various plans for world government adhered to a common pattern. The majority of people still imagine that the campaign for world government at the expense of our own national independence, has not passed beyond the oca- demic stage. They have not heard of the Humber resolution which was introduced in the North Carolina Legislature and to which lost week's bulletin referred. The Humber resolution was a product of the "World Government Foundation".

"W o rld G o v ern m en t F o u n d a tio n "

According to its own literature, the "World Government Foundation" is an auxiliary of "W orld Fellowship, Inc." which was begun in 1918 and which will be discussed at a later time. The "World Government Foundation" is responsible for some very well prepared and expensive literature which sets forth its aims and some of) its background. It also discloses a few of the factors responsible for the motivation of its founder and trustee, Charles Henry Davis.

Mr Robert Lee Humber, who was responsible for the North Carolina Resolution endorsing "The Declaration of the Federation of the World", works with Charles Henry Davis who is Founder and Trustee of the "World Government Foundation". Mr. Davis and DarwinJ. Meserole gave a luncheon at the Town Hall Club in New York City on January 23, 1942, at which luncheon the main speaker was Robert Lee Humber. Considering the efforts of Humber and Davis to unite cur country with Britain, Meserole, when we examine his background, might be considered a discordant note in the trio. However, their co-operation testifies to the efficiency of internationalist direction that is able to lead different groups and individuals, ostensibly working at cross purposes, towards a common goal.

During World W ar I, Mr. Meserole's efforts were along another direction entirely. According to the New York Legislature on "Revolutionary Radicalism" and "Subversive Movements", published in 1920, Mr. Meserole gave valuable assistance to the "First American Conference of Democracy and Terms of Peace", held in New York City on

2 THE BEACON LIGHT — June, 1942

May 30-31, 1917. This group, at a time when Russia was threatening to make a separate peace with Germany and desert the Allies following the first Russian Revolution in March, 1917, decided it was the proper moment tcj present what the New York Legislative Committee defined as "a thoroughly socialistic, prc.-German and undemocratic program under the name of 'Democracy'."

In referring to the published report of the conference, the Lusk Report went on to say:

"In the very foreword of this peculiarly un-American document, in the very act of shrieking aloud its Americanism, we find this sinister juggling of words and motives. After a diatribe against militarism justifying the organization of the Conference, representing the combined Socialist, pacifist and antj- military leagues of the country, we are told that these are 'a mighty force demanding that American democracy, American ideals, American peace be preserved inviolate'. The foreword then continues:

" 'Such an organization was rendered doubly necessary by the revolution in Russia . . . They (the American people) wanted to make known to this free Russian people that the feelings of those who dwell in America were not truly expressed by the warlike and undemocratic action of the official government that was elected to represent them. They wanted to show that they stand solid behind the Russian democracy and are ready to work with them until the autocracy of the entire world is overthrown'.

"In plain words, the Socialists and their pacifist allies of this country, thoroughly in sympathy with the Socialist program of Russia, were preparing to join them in an effort to overthrow the so-called autocracies (our own Government included, as we shall presently see) of the world.

"That this program of international Socialism is sounded over and over aogin in the proceedings of the Conference— and along with it more or less open sympathy with Germany)— we are about to illustrate step by step. . . ." ("Lusk Report", Vol. 1, pages 1039-40, underlining added.)

That was 25 years ago. Today, we find some of these very same people or their spiritual brethren who were pro-German and against our war efforts in 1917, leading the pack all out for everything like "Union Now" or a federation with England. But they are not

THE BEACON LIGHT — June, 1942 3inconsistent. Twenty-five years ago the soviet empire, not quite fu lly hatched, was about to leave the nest of the A llies and make a separate peace with Germany. So why shouldn't they take the part of Germany then! Today, the U. S. S. R ., even though she still rec- ognizes her neutrality pact witlh Japan, considers herself a member of the United Nations. Then, as now, the collectivists worked for a new world order based on the principle of international socialism . They evaluated our own war effort then solely from the standpoint of how it could most benefit the socialist cause and they use the same yardstick now. But now they receive the assistance of the international business men who, in conspiring to install international industrialism throughout the world, JO IN them in promoting movements tor world government .

Th foregoing is tendered with the hope that some of us who are in this fight today to defend our people and our institutions from both foreign and domestic aggressors will see through the doubledealing of those who are seeking to utilize our war program as a means of defending the soviet regime or as a means of removing the barriers to their international business schemes imposed by our Republic as a national sovereignty. If the honest new world order- ites are so naive as to be unable to understand the motives underlying most of the assistance given to their movements, they ore not proper leaders for any movement which threatens the sovereignty of our Republic.

The "World Government Foundation" has proposed a constitution for world government which is called the "United World Peace Em pire Magna Carta— United States of the W orld". Their suggested constitution has thirteen articles which read as follows:

"A R T IC LE 1 :— The People of the British Empire, its Dominions and Overseas Possessions, and the United States of America, its States, Territories and Dependencies, declare their union as Commonwealths under ONE FLA G for W orld Peace through their mutual and voluntary adoption and adherence to the obligations, terms arid conditions of this United W orld Peace Empire Magna Carta.

"A R T IC LE 2 :— The Government of the United W orld Peace Empire shall consist of His Excellency the World Peace Potentate and the World Peace Supreme Council of twenty-four (2 4) World Peace Councillors until increased under A rtic le 12.

"A R T IC L E 3 :— The First World Peace Councillors shall be

4 THE BEACON LIGHT — June, 1942named from the British Empire and fromthe United States of America. The World Peace Councillors shall hold office for such period of time as each Commonwealth may determine and shall not again hold such office thereafter at any time.

"ARTICLE 4 :—The World Peace Supreme Council shall unanimously name for life His Excellency The World Peace Potentate subject to removal at any time by the joint action of three- fourths of the World Peace Supreme Council.

"ARTICLE 5:— His Excellency The World Peace Potentate and the World Peace Supreme Council shall by unanimous action control and regulate all relationships, financial, commercial, industrial, political, social and otherwise whatsoever between the Commonwealths themselves and between the Commonwealths severally or together or the United World Peace Empire or any of their peoples with the outside world.

"ARTICLE 6 :— His Excellency The World Peace Potentate shall from time to time determine, in his sole and absolute discretion, the amount of monies needed by the United World Peace Empire and shall collect these monies from the several Comonwealths.

"ARTICLE 7 :—The World Peace Supreme Council shall by unanimous action apportion the taxes upon and between the Commonwealths and political subdivisions thereof, in such amounts, in such manner and at such times, in the sole and absolute discretion of the World Peace Supreme Council, as will enable His Excellency Thd Wbrld Peace Potentate to collect the monies needed by the United World Peace Empire to the amount as may be determined by him under Article 6.

"ARTICLE 8 :— All executive, legislative and judicial powers, rights, privileges dnd discretions of the Government of the United World Peace Empire, save those under Articles 4, 5 and 7, shall rest solely in the hands of and be exercised by His Excellency The World Peace Potentate without limitations or qualifications of any kind or description to the end that his decisions and acts shall be conclusive and absolute.

"ARTICLE 9 :—The World Peace Councillors shall have the right to advise His Excellency The World Peace Potentate, individually, in groups or unanimously at the request of His Excellency The World Peace Potentate or on their own initiative

THE BEACON LIGHT — June, 1942 5or at the request of any Government of any Commonwealth or political subdivisions thereof or at the request of any of their peoples.

"ARTICLE 10:— A printed record of all decisions and acts of His Excellency The World Peace Potentate and a printed record of the decisions, acts and advices of the World Peace— Councillors together with a printed record of all requests to the World Peace Councillors from the Governments of their Commonwealths or political subdivisions thereof or their peoples shall be lodged with each and every daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly and quarterly publication throughout the United World ,Peoce Empire and shall be open at all times to any and all peoples of the Urtited World Peace Empire.

"ARTICLE 11 :— His Excellency The World Peace Potentate shall create, organize, build, acquire, maintain, use and command such armies, navies, qir forces and other military means together with oil properties, structures, devices and means which he deems esential thereto in his sole and absolute discretion necessary to maintain or restore peace throughout the world and shall use them for no other purpose whatsoever.

' "ARTICLE 12:— At any time hereafter any nation may become a Commonwealth under the United World Peace Empire by the voluntary adoption and adherence to the obligations, terms and conditions of this United World Peace Empire Magna Carta and naming their World Peace Councillors to the United World Peace Empire to the number designated unanimously by the World Peace Councillors then in office.

"ARTICLE 13:— Thai powers not delegated to the United World Peace Empire by this United World Peace Empire Magna Carta are reserved to the Commonwealths respectively or to their peoples".While the "World Government Foundation's" constitution is more

specific in its treatment of the executive and legislative mechanisms for a proposed world government, it reminds one of Russell W. Davenport's "Area of Freedom" prospectus described in the August, 19 4 1 , issue of "Fortune" magazine.' (See Bulletin No. 143). Mr. Davenport did not discuss "His Excellency the World Peace Potentate" or the "World Peace Supreme Council" but he did take up a phase of political internationalism under a section df his article bearing the sub-caption, "An International Party". Mr. Davenport

: . (

6 THE BEACON LIGHT — June, 1942referred to o tentative platform suitable for an international political party which would not be out of place in the election of such a world government mochine os is contemplated by the "W orld Government Foundation's" constitution.

For instance, the "Fortune" orticle suggest', that the Internotion- ol Party includes the following os one of the planks in its platform;

"The International party invites oil peoples who hove, or who eornestly desire, freedom to join in creating a new politico! area, which shall be called the Area of Freedom, The essential principles of this Area will be; that the people of each m em ber state acknowledge the possession, in common with other peoples of the area, of certain principles and values indispensable to liberty; thot they therefore ocknowledge certain responsibilities, whether political, economic, or moral, to the peoples of all the other states; thot they will accordingly forego, in the interests of the whole, the exercise of certain of their supposedly sovereign rights and privileges; and that such rights and privilege* shall hereafter be exercised only with the consent ond approval of all the Fredom peoples.......... " (pages 133and 140,)

The "World Government Foundation", "Union Now", Fortune's "Area of Freedom" ond the "Atlontic Chorter' could be dovetoiled so perfectly, one with another, that each one could constitute a port of the same mosaic. While the foregoing Magna Gsrto reads like an international financier's or an international business man's pipe dream, it in no woy violates either the spirit or substance of the Roosevelt-Churchill "Alontic Chorter" or the plan for the "Area of Freedom" os interpreted by the gentleman who wos attached to Wendell Willkie to moke sure that the latter would not go astray during his presidential campaign.

W hen we ore reminded thot some of our h ighest administration officials ore known to be in favor of such in terna tional schemes, w hen o thers high in new deal circles sign the ir nam es to huge newspaper ads endorsing a plan for world governm ent, and when powerful newspapers throw their editorial weight towards the revision of o u r own Constitution ond the drafting of a declaration of interdependence to take the place of our Decloration of Independence, the "W orld Governnvmt Foudotion's" prospectus ceases to remain a joke For professional politicians, however, there would be a redeem ing feature Think of the international boondoggling, of the

THE BEACON LIGHT — June, 1942 7International political campaigns, and the international pork barrels!

Nicholas Roerich Inspired Its Promoter The flag proposed by the "W orld Government Foundation" for

the new world order which it seeks to establish is on American flog with a design sim ilar to the British Union Jack substituted for the s ta r field in the upper left hand corner. Then, on the left hand end of the flag is odd'ccf a design containing a large circle with three small spheres inside. T hh design, while called the "Peace Circle", reminds one of a pawn broker's cluster of three balls and would be appropria te in that under such a world program the people of our Republic would be pawning their liberties and resources to the sovereignty of international finance, According to a prospectus for the "W orld Government Foundation", the design cam e about in the following m anner:

"This conception of a 'Peace Circle' cam e from Davis' at-, tendance as a delegate of the 'Third International Convention, Roerich Poet and Bonner of Peace ', W ashington, D, C,, November 17-18, 1933, This banner has come to be known as the 'Red C ircle' whose history is given below. From this 'Red Circle ' grew the 'Peoce C ircle '," Chorles Henry Davis, founder and trustee.)No doubt, Davis' interest in Roerich is only slight bu t as vjill be

shown later, this some design follows a num ber-pattern that Is becoming too prevalent in d ifferen t new deals throughout the world to be passed over very lightly, Moybe a word about Nicholas Roerich would n o t be amiss.

According to an article written by Serge W hitm an in 1925: "W e who search the paths of interr ational understanding and the structu re of universal peoce, m ust look upon Roerich os the apostle and forerunner of the new world of all nations", ("The Trail Of The Serpent", p. 301 .) Roerich's writings reveol his preference for those orieritol philosophies that ore incom patible with the Christian doctrine responsible for the liberties heretofore associated with western civilization. Roerich is a mysterious figure with world wide activities and connections in the realm of occultism and his influence has extended to others having a g rea t deal to soy in our notional affairs.

In his book, "N ew Frontiers", published in 1934, Henry Wallace adopted the three-ball symbol. On page 279 of his book he fold where he go t it. He go t it from Roerich! Raoul Detvernine, in his book en titled "D em ocratic Despotism", com m ented on the fact that 6 copies of this issue for $1-00; circulate them among your friends.

8 THE BEACON LIGHT — June, 1942Wallace's philosophy as revealed in "New Frontiers" was also the philosophy of Dr. Tugwell's "Third Economy". Mr. Desvernine then proceeded to call our attention to the universal manner in which collectivist formulas were associated with the number three. Not only was there the "Third Economy", but the world was a fflic ted with Hitler's "Third Reich" and Stalin's "Third International". There is also the tripartite nature of Mussolini's Corporation ism. The use of the three-ball symbol to designate one of the widely ballyhoo plans for world government is not very comforting.

Initiating Campaigns-— 1914 and 1941 The Roosevelt-Churchill meeting in August of 1941 with its re

sulting Atlantic Charter was the event that seems to have inspired those behind the "World Government Foundation" to swing into high gear. It was what they had been waiting for. Forthwith a World Government Convention was held at the W orld Fellowship Center at Conway, N. H., August 31, 1941, under the auspices of "W orld Fellowship, Inc." The Honorary Chairman of the W orld Government Foundation", Dr. Irving Fisher, was the principal speaker and on him fell the task of passing on to those assembled, an outline of the objectives for which they were to work. Dr. Fisher declared that the world government program for which they were to labor was politically implementing Roosevelt's and Church ill's A tlantic Charter. Once again, we are to watch the development, noted in all great movements directed towards the establishment* of a financial world empire, from moral appeals to a definite and a ll- in clusive economic plan.

Numbers are not the only things to show a persistency of recurrence in the politics of internationolism. Sometimes certain individuals are given preference when it comes to fu lfilling certain definite roles throughout the course of years. Dr. Fisher is evidently an acceptable lead-off man in world government campaigns for the newspaper item describing the world government convention, also included the following paragraphs:

"As a graduate student in 1890, Dr. Fisher presented a paper before the Yale Political Science Club that argues that future wars were inevitable unless they were headed o ff by some e ffective international government.

"On the basis of this paper, he published an artic le in T H E NEW YORK TIM ES of Aug. 16, 1914, soon after the outbreak of the war, calling for the 'League of Peace' to be organized upon its close. With Hamilton Holt he began in 1914 the se-

9THE BEACON LIGHT — June, 1942ries of conferences which eventuated in the League to Enforce Peace, before which Woodrow Wilson first announced his proposed League of Nations". ("The New York Times", Sept. 1, 1941.)"World Government Foundation" and /'Union Now" campaigns

are simply a revival of the "League of Nations" campaign twenty- five years ago. If you have them handy, this would be a good time for you to review Bulletins 137-139 inclusive. Those issues described a series of organizations which were progressively developed from the "New York Peace Society" through the "League to Enforce Peace" and the "League of Free Nations Association" to the "Foreign Policy Association". These organizations were referred to in those three bulletins in subject matter appearing under the title: "The Soviet Lobby In America". In that series of organizations which handled the campaign for the "League of Nations" in this country, could also be noted a persistent campaign for, first the establishment and later the protection of, the communist regime which was to take the leadership in directing the program for world wide revolution and international socialism. By taking note cf the relationship between world government programs and world communist programs it is with less difficulty that we understand the gift of the two billions of dollars to Stalin, the permitting of communist controlled labor racketeers to interfere with our defense and wdr efforts, the removal of those who are known to be anti-Marxian from responsible positions in the executive and administrative departments, and the attempts to disrupt our industrial and economic structure to the greatest possible extent.

tDr. Fisher was well qualified for outlining a program for the new world order acceptable to the socialists. According to "Who's Who In America", he was a lecturer at the London School of Economics and Political Science which was founded by the Fabians and the purpose of which was to "train the bureaucracy for the future Socialist State". The internationalist have no reason to complain of his fifty years of service, much of which has been given for the cause of socialism.

So far, the "World Government Foundation" propaganda machine is still in its infancy. A large number of supporting councils and associations iare being rapidly organized or revived on paper and one can be safe in predicting that in the not too distant future, there will be an array of committees that will be quite devastating. At the present time the aforementioned Charles H. Davis, Irving Fisher and

10 THE BEACON LIGHT — June, 1942Darwin J . Meserole appear to be the most active of those openlypromoting if.

Many of you doubtless thought that the constitution, proposed by the "World Government Foundation" and reproduced in the preceding bulletin, sounded like an internationalist's brain-storm; that it was only for fictional purposes and not apt to be taken seriously by anyone with any real influence with our administration. This is only wishful thinking. "World Fellowship, Inc.," of which "World Government Foundation" is an auxiliary, has a very long and imposing list of National Advisors. Furthermore, it must be distinguished from "Union Now" with respect to its major objectives. Many of the forces behind "World Fellowship, Inc.," when past activities are analyzed, are working for world government in the fullest sense of the term. They are not working to preserve the British Empire intact as are the backers of "Union Now". They are seeking, indirectly, to destroy the British Empire as it stands today. They want to see British possessions become independent members of the commonwealth. Those behind "Union Now" want to keep the British Empire fully intact but they also seek to merge it and our Republic. While their objectives differ somewhat, they both have the same obstacle to overcome which is the sovereign independence of both the British Commonwealth and cur Republic.

"W orld Fellowship, In c ."As has already been shown, the propaganda literature put out by

the "World Government Foundation" states that it is an auxiliary of the "World Fellowship, Inc." whose founder and president is Charles Frederick Weller. According to its letterhead, "World Fellowship, Inc." was started in 1918. "Who's Who in America" credits Charles Frederick Weller with the founding of the organization but it doesn't give any date for its creation. Inasmuch as Mr W eller was one of the cc-founders of the "Fellowship of Faiths" which Was later developed into the World Fellowship of Faith in 1933, the "World Fellowship, Inc." appears to be simply the 1933 version of Weller's organization plus another extension in the scope of its activities. The history of Mr. Weller's activities is a history of "World Fellowship, Inc.

In 1910 Kedarnath Das Gupta, a native of Eastern Bengal, organized the "Union of East and West". Das Gupta was assisted in this venture by such prominent figures as H. G. Wells, Mrs. Annie Besant and Keir Hardie. Of course there were others but these three 6 copies of this issue for $1 .0 0 ; c ircu la te th em am o n g your friends.

THE BEACON LIGHT — June, 1942 Uare indicative of its type of leadership. Wells was a Fabian-Socialist, member of "Clarte", and active in the "Society for Cultural Relations with Soviet Russia". Hardie, a tool of Friedrich Engels who was Marx's collaborator, founded the Independent Labour Party in England in 1.893. Mrs. Annie Besant, a Fabian, was a disciple of Madam Blavatsky. Madam Blavatsky was prominent in revolutionary circles and had been initiated into the Carbonari by Mazzini. She claimed to receive direction from the "Great White Lodge" which was claimed to be the occult hierarchy which "secretly governs the world". She was introduced to Mrs. Besant by the English socialist Herbert Burrows and Mrs. Besant was later to follow him in Madam Blavatsky's footsteps, assuming the leadership of the Theosophioal Society upon the latter's death.

An important point to keep in mind at this time is that the occult side of the Fabian movement, as it functioned through the activities of theosophical leaders under the direction of Mrs. Besant, had fOr its purpose the disintegration of the Asiatic part of the British Empire beginning with India. Mrs. Besant's "Co-Masonry", which was organized as an offshoot of the "Thosophical Society", served as a cover under which the directors of the Indian Home Rule agitation could function. (See Bulletin No. 44). As was pointed out in Bulletin No. 33, most of the directors of thq London newspapers published by the "Socialist Publishing Company" were members of London theosophical organizations or "Co-Masonry". We therefore find that the socialist activities in the English labor movement and the Indian Home Rule agitation were synchronized and gave each other mutual support.

Charles Frederich Weller, a socialist, founded the "League of Neighbors" in 1920 according to "Who's Who In America". While he succeeded in getting the names of many prominent individuals listed as its endorsers, the real support came from a group of radicals to be found in such organizations as the "American Civil Liberties Union" and it was they who were to exert the greatest influence over Weller's organization. Socialist sympathizers from all faiths gave support to it. Rabbi Stephen Wise, Father John A. Ryan, Upton Sinclair and Madam Sun Yat Sen were among them.

In 1924 the "Union of East and West" and the "League of Neighbors" were merged in a new organization known as the "Fellowship of Faiths". This organization was described in Bulletin No. 33. It held its frrst World Congress in Chicago in 1933 and the meeting was noted' for its socialist and communist complexion. The star

speaker was Bishop William Montgomery Brown who, besides being notional chairman of the communist “Workers' International Relief" at the time, belonged to a number of communist directed organizations. At the close of one of his addresses he stated that: "If World-Unity is to be attained it must be through International Communism, which can only be arrived at by the .slogan 'Banish the Gods from the Skies ond the Capitalists from the Earth'. Then, and then only, will there exist a complete World Fellowship of Faiths".

After the applause, Charles Weller arose and asked the "Bishop" to repeat his concluding remarks after which Weller thanked him, ending his own statement with: "I want to say that I am in thorough agreement with the sentiments as expressed by Bishop Brown'. Bishop Brown's addresses before the Congress were later printed for the communists in pamphlet form under the title "Communism— The New Faith For The New World".

Many members of the British section of the "Fellowship of Faiths" were also members of the "Friends of the U. S. S. R." Among them were to be found such leaders as Sir Norman Angel I and the Dean of Canterbury. Other British supporters included the Rt. Hon. Herbert Samuel and Lord Halifax.

We are threatened with more than world government. We are faced with the threat of a new world order in which the same forces that inspired and guided the Russian debacle will play an important part. If these forces are allowed to havet their own way we will have world government under which an attempt will be made to "Banish God from the Skies and the Capitalists from the Earth". Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty.

CHATS - By the EditorFollowing the blast in 'Life' magazine for April 13th, and the

Winchell smear of April 19th (at which time I was in San Francisco), an officer from Sacramento County called with a subpoena in which I was commanded to present myself at a Grand Jury hearing .on April 28th in the case of Robert Noble, Ellis 0 . Jones and some of their associates.

I was in Sacramento two days; my testimony took about 30 minutes; but it had little or nothing to do with Noble or Jones. It was my understanding thot a Grand Jury session was secret and sacred; but the Sacramento and other papers carried items from testimony given, inclding my own, which, by the way, was flatly contradictory

to the 'Voices of Defeat' article in Life magazine. Of course readers know we attached a mimeogrophed sheet to the January number regarding the war, which was anything but a statement of defeatism. If you check the statements in Life with my statements in the January number you will see how they were distorted; of course they were just intended as a smear, to be followed up, they hoped, by an investigation.

I would have no trouble in proving that Winchell and Life made libelous statements about me; and as we have a goodly number of attorneys who read The Beacon Light I would appreciate their opinion on the matter. Remember, I have no money for legal defense or prosecution; and you attorneys are also Americans, and Christians,I hope; s6 do your stuff.

NOTE: We have lust received a shipm ent from England, which, incidentally will be th e last, for we have to pay for all lost shipm ents. This shipm ent Includes The Socialist Network, for which we have had m any calls recently.

I t also includes a supply of The G reat Pyram id's Prophecy Concerning The B ritish Em pire and America (Note new price 75c.) We have been out of th is for some time, and unable to fill a num ber of orders for it.

W A L T E R W IN C H E L LThe Editor of The Beacon Light has been flayed by Red sheets

and m agazines and Red and Pink radio commentators. Now they say a man is known by the company he keeps. The

blasts by W inchell and Life m agazine are identical, word for word, with the story that appears in the various Communist sheets throughout the nation, showing conclusively the Red tie-up. As a matter of fact the first blast as far as I can trace, came from a so- called labor paper in San Francisco; I believe the name was The People's World. I have the item somewhere amidst an avalanche of press clippings. And so you see W alter W inchell gets his inspiration from the Communist press.

W alter W inchell is in very bad company; for I have before me the whole Red set-up wherein the Communists plot to use the war to overthrow our American form of government.

Now if W inchell is looking for treason, let him search the records of his pals from whom he gets his inspiration. As far back as February, 1937, Stalin, speaking at Moscow, warned that Russia must prepare for war with capitalist countries; he called for world wide co-operation of workers in all nations, to insure final victory for Socialism (Communism). Could anything be clearer than that? This is only one of hundreds of quotations from their books and papers.

14 THE BEACON LIGHT — June, 1942

And now if you will turn to your Christian Bible a n d read the 38th and 39th chapters of Ezekiel, you will see th a t your Christian Bible also testifies as to the real in ten t of Soviet Russia. T he Bible clearly stotes that Russia and Germany will fight together, and not each other, in the end. And so, this is the program of those with whom W alter Winchell is affiliated.

Let me give you onother quotation of Stalin 's:"I consider that the Communist Party of the U n ited S ta tes is one

of the few Communist Parties to which history has given decisive tasks from the point of view of the world revolutionary m ovement. The revolutionary crisis has not yet reached the U nited S tates, but we already have knowledge of numerous facts which suggest th a t it is approaching.

" I t is necessary that the American C om m unist Party should be capable of meeting the moment of crisis fully equ ipped to tak e direction of the future class wars in the U nited S tates. You must prepare for that, comrades, with all your s tren g th and by every means; you must constantly improve and bolshevise th e American Communist Party. You must forge real revolutionary cadres and leaders of the proletariat who will be capable of leading th e miliions of American workers toward the revolutionary class w ars". ("C om m unist International", Russian edition, M arch 20 , 1930; U. S. Gov. Report No. 2290, p. 8)". And he ends up with '"F orw ard to victory!"

And whose victory does Stalin hail? "O ur v icto ry". A Soviet Union-Communist Party victory. A victory for w hat? A victory for the only cause that Stalin knows: a world revolution, th e trium ph of Soviet power over all nations, the estab lishm ent of Com m unism throuhout the earth, a Communist dictatorship over all th e peoples of the world, and a Communist Party-Soviet Union cap ita l a t Moscow.

And so Stalin and the Bible agree as to the end of th e present struggle; our Christian Bible says this is a spiritual w ar betw een the forces of darkness and the forces of light. As St. Paul says, "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, bu t ag a in st principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of th is world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. W herefo re tak e unto you the whole armour of God, tha t ye m ay be ab le to w ithstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 15TH E B E A C O N L IG H T ---- June, 1942be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

And now for a little history of V/alter \Minchell. His scurrilous remarks over the air have brought O n avalanche of lawsuits. Elizabeth Diling, author of The Red Network, is suing him for a million dollars for the vile remarks he made about her over the air. Mrs. Eleanor Patterson, owner of the Washington Times-Herald, has filed suit for $100,000 as punitive damages for remarks which she said were ci'sfamatory, and another $100,000 as compensation from Win- chell, his radio sponsor and a broadvasting company which broadcast the program.

And now we will give you a quotation from the Congressional Record, which speaks for itself:

"S c av e n g e r" W in ch e llThe following exchange of remarks occurred February 13th, on

the floor of the House of Representatives . . as reported in the Congressional Record1:

Mr. Hoffman: Mr. Speaker, I ask unanimous consent to address the House for 1 minute.

The Speaker: ^Vithout objection, it is so ordered.Mr. Hoffman: Mr. Speaker, the distinguished gentleman from

Georgia, chairman of the Committee on Naval Affairs, has just rendered us a very note worthy service in quoting the record with reference to Lieutenant Roosevelt. There is another topic on which he can give some information. I want to ask him if he will be so kind as to inform us about Lieutenant Commander ^Vinchell, who, it is reported, gets $5000 a broadcast once a week on a radio program, advertising a hand lotion and peddling dirty gossip, and does It in the uniform of a lieutenant commander in the Navy. Now, I may be wrong about that, and I wish the gentleman would give us information on his record tomorrow.

Mr. Vinson of Georgia: I can tell the gentleman about that now.1 have advised the Navy Department either to call him to active uty or disenroll him.Mr. Hoffman: I thank the gentleman.

On March 3, 1942, Congressman Hoffman again asked and ob- ned permission to address the House. Hisi remarks were as fol- s :Mr. Speaker, some of the boys in the Press Gallery sugested that 'ter V/inchell was coming down here to find out just how he

could serve in the Navy. My thought would be th a t in view of his past experience and operations there might be in the Navy some division correspnoding to the scavenger departm ent, in which he has been operating, and he might get in that. He is fully qualified for th a t from past experience".

Now remember, W alter Winchell is a Lieutenant Com m ander in the Navy. You will ask, 'How Come?' If you will read the reports o f the Dies Committee as to the hordes of Reds in key positions in the Government, you will understand why.

A t the present time, patriotic Americans all over the nation are receiving subpoenas from State and Federal courts. It is a program of intimidation. See the article in this issue on Senate Bill 2399, and you will understand my predictions in the January Beacon Light, th a t the Administration does not intend an election th is year.

' But, the Administration is counting without the H igher Powers. God Almgihty is going to play the last card in this gam e; and when He plays it, there will be nothing left of the New Deal and the Red hordes in the nation.

FREE SPEECH, FREE PRESS, ASSEMBLY IN DANGERRegardless of opinions, it is the im perative duty of every Am eri

can to fight to the last ditch to prevent the passage of Senate Bill 2399, for upon this bill hinges the last vestige of Consfitutional Government.

This Bill, S-2399 is a t present in the Judiciary C om m ittee of the House, and, if passed, it is our studied opinion, will em power the Attorney General to imprison even a M em ber of C ongress for criticizing the Adm inistration's foreign policies.

>■ In England, where a similar bill was passed, hundreds of loyal Englishmen and Members of Parliam ent, for the firs t tim e in the history of England, have been placed in concen tra tion cam ps. Not only are these people unable to ascerta in the charges ag a in st them to warrant such imprisonment, but no one, not even a H igh Justice, a M ember of Parliament, A ttorney or relative may see such charges. All protests have thus far been unavailing, according to th e "W eek ly Patrio t", published in London.

Since many of ,the p resent A dm in istra tion 's a c tiv itie s parallel those of England— the Bill S-2399 holds the sam e th re a t to A m erican s th a t the English Law holds for Englishmen.

the same day in both Senate and House without a record vote and without debate on Section J— just prior to last Christmas The Pres-' ident sent S Bill 2060 back for modification and it is now due to come before the House as S Bill 2399.

Section J. of this Bill reads:—

K "The term 'political propaganda includes A N Y oral, visual, graphic, written’ political or other communication or expression by A N Y person (1) which is reasonably adapted to or which the person disseminating the same believes will, or which he intends to, prevail upon, indoctrinate, convert, induce or in any way influence a recipient or any section of the public within the U. S., with reference to the political or public interests, policies, or relations of a government of a foreign country or a foreign political party or with reference to the foreign policies of the United States or promote in the U. S., racial, religious or social dissensions, or (2) which advocates, advises, instigates, or promotes any racial, social, poliitical or religious disorder, civil riot, or any other conflict involving the use of force or violence in any other American Republic or the overthrow of any government or political subdivision of any other American Republic or the overthrow of any government or political subdivision of any other American Republic by any means involving the use of force or violence. As used in this Section I (J)

, the term 'disseminating/ includes transmitting or causing to be transm;ii?cl in the U. S. Mails or by any means or instrumentality of interstate or foreign commerce or offering or causing to be offered in the U. S. Mails; . . . "

"Section 8 (a) A N Y person who wilfully violates A N Y provision of T H IS A C T or A N Y regulation thereunder . . . shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine of not more than $10,000 or by imprisonment for not more than five years or both".

Obviously, in our estimation, S. BUI 2399 gives the Attorney Gen- ral unlimited power to fine and imprison any person found guilty { even talking to a person or group in a critical way about the >mmunists in America or Russia. Any remarks or printed matter or tings, even quotations from the Bible, could be called "promoting ial, religious or social dissension".i our opinion, should Senate Bill 2399 become a law, it could sed to stop the preaching of Christianity— as was done in Rus-

X The present state of affairs is being brought about by the cowardly actions o f the people o f this nation. < This is the last stro n g h o ld of liberty a n d fre e d o m as guaranteed by our Christian Bible and the Constitution with the Bill of Rights. This Bill S-2399, even if passed is absolutely un-Constitutional and should it pass, patriotic individuals and organizations and also the big newspapers will surely fight it in the courts because the Constitution of the United States of America is the supreme law of the land. THE BEACON L IGH T — June, 1942 19

man of Washington has more perfectly reflected the decadent state of the Nation's political, structure than those of Harold L. I ekes.

For blatant vulgarity, obnoxious speech and childlike behavior, lekes' equal has never been known in any previous Administration. When cornered or criticized, he invariably resorts to profanity, and fogs the atmosphere with the kind of language one might expect to hear in the slums of New York's East Side.

The most recent example of what decent citizens would not expect from a Cabinet member, was discussed on the floor of Congress by Clare E. Hoffman, late last month.

Mr. Hoffman, a defender of old fashioned Americanism, represents the Fourth Congressional District of Michigan, in the House of Representatives.

Congressmen listened in shocked silence as Mr. Hoffman read publicly a typical lekes' letter, sent recently to the editor of a small New England newspaper. Sections of the missive! were so vile that they could not be printed. The portions deemed printable without violating postal laws against obscenity, is as follows:

"Washington, D. C., February 2, 1942* Mr. Robert M. Sperry,

Publisher, Bridgeport Life,Bridgeport, Conn.Dear Sir:

A man whom I do not know has sent to me a tear sheet from your issue of Saturday, July 26, 1941. My correspondent speaks of your "filthy mind and paper", and he also seems to think that you are a coward. Undoubtedly he is right on all scores. The impression seems to be that the filth in this editorial surged up from the cesspool that passes with you for a mind. However, it doesn't much matter whether you actually wrote the thing or not; as publisher you are responsible.

I don't know you and had never heard of you until this letter came. Now, although I still have never met you, I feel that I know you very iwifii as a cowardly, skulking cur.

(At this point lekes vented his spleen in virulent terms regarded by journalists as being wholly unprintable.)

The letter closed as follows:'It is undoubtedly perfectly natural for you to think the putrid

thoughts which you naturally express in the language of the gutter.Harold L. lekes,

Secretary of the Interior".

20 T N I BEACON LIGHT — June; 1942

Mr. H o ffm a n explained that he regretted having to odd such mo- teriol to the enduring records o f the United States Congress but said he believed the matter worthy o f the attention of the House of Representatives. He also suggested that steps be token to "disinfect, fumigate, and, i f possible, render inocuous" the Secretary's utter- anew.

The fckes letter was published in the February 14th issue of the Bridgeport Life, accompanied by the following reply by the Editor, Mr. Robert M. Sperry:

'[Hod this letter been written by an inebriated derelict from the slums, the language would have caused it to be relegated to the wot ic bosket, but written as it was by a supereducated member of the President's Cabinet, we pass it along to show the revengeful temper of Its author. . .

"His (lekes') opinion of editors and the press has been well established The freedom of the press has long been one of his pet peeves. Mr. Ickes has proved in his letter that should President. Roosevelt ever drop him os he did Jim Farley, he can get a job as columnist on a tabloid or run Walter Winchell a close second on the radio. His vocabulary in the lower brockets assures him this. . .

0 "With what little freedom there is left to the press, Mr. Ickes, permit us to maintain that we hove o right to think that, if we hurl a stone at o gong of dogs, the one doing the yelping is the one we think we hit. So kee£ on writing, you are going places. The place we will leave to your own selection".

Incidents of this kind come as o solemn reminder that the year 1942 finds the United States passing through a moral sag— a period of spiritual declension. Only a rebuilding of the Nation's character and revitalizing of the notional conscience, will deliver America from the scourge reflected in the Ickes' psychology and type of leadership.

FROM A COLONEL:

“The Beacon Light” certainly is well named. Yes, it Is a spark of truth that gtimmers in these days of confusion. I t is the light th a t guides the ships of tru th seeking people to the shore* of happiness and personal liberty.

Keep up the fine work, and you will be rewarded in the very near future, When Christian Nationalism will once again sweep thld country from all directions of the compass. T h a t will be the day when the in ternational robbers will be cast into the sea. Then we here in America will look up to God and say, T hy Will Be Done, Thy Kingdom Come.

May God’s blessings be with all the co-workers of The Beacon Light and may you go on casting the light of tru th across this land of ours. Long live the Constitution of the United States and long live C hrist the K ing” .

THE BEACON LIGHT — June, 1942

W H O M A R E Y O U F O L L O W I N G ?

21

I have received a great many letters of late asking me to help different men in the field. For instonce, I received a long letter from a lady in Los Angeles asking me to help Robert Noble and Ellis Jones. Unfortunately, I can not comply with her wish. I have never met these men. All I know of them is what I read in the daily papers I agree with their criticisms of the Administration, but there is a gulf between us. On his own confession Ellis Jones is not basically a Christian . He does not believe in Christianity, is materialistic; and so we have no common bond.

If the report of the Tenney investigation is correct, these men are not even American, for Robert Noble stated at the trial that he was pro-German and pro-Japanese. I have never been pro-German and never pro-Japanese. I have always been pro-American and pro- Christian, and so we have practically nothing in common.

Personally, I think that these men are mixed up in their own minds as to what they are fighting for. How can one fight Christianity and be pro-American? I can understand their fighting the so- called Christianity racket. I judge there are many who do that, I do myself. But Christian fundamentals are something else, and American fundamentals have their roots in Christian fundamentals. So leaders of this kind are bound to fail because they are unsound. They will run afoul of the laws of the land, and rightly so.

They will also run afoul of the spiritual law which is even more devastating. If ever there was a time when we needed to know that the roots of our belief run down into the fundamentals of Christianity and Americanism, it is now.

I am sorry for these men and I pray that their eyes may be opened to the light.

There are many other men and women in the field that the above criticism could apply to; well-meaning, but ignorant of the fundamental laws.

Then there are those who are inciting others against National Defense That is treason in war-time, and it is also a violation of spiritual law. The Bible makes provision for national defense, making special reference to the Israel nations. Israel was to be numbered for war, which was the same as our conscription. In Numbers 1: 2 and 3 and 26:2 we see that Israel was numbered.

"Take ye the sum of all the congregation (oil the nation) of the Children of Israel, by their families, by their fathers' houses, arco-d-

22 THE BEACON LIGHT — June, 1942

ing to the number of names, every male, by their polls; from twenty years old and upward, all that are able to go forth to war in Israel, thou and Aaron shall number them by their hosts".

And again, we read, " Take the sum of all the congregation of the Children of Israel from twenty years old and upward, by their fathers' houses, all that are able to go forth to war". .

At this time war was always offensive, because as long as Israel kept faith with Jehovah, obeying His laws, they were always defended and protected. It was only when they broke faith and wandered away that their enemies had any power over them. Their defense was their faith in Jehovah and ours could be the same if we kept the laws of Cod.

Now these men who are pro-Russian, pro-German, pro-Italian or pro-Jonpnese do not know the Bible. God has a definite plan for the leading nations of this world. There has always been such a nation carrying in advance the torch. For instance, for many centuries it was carried by England and then by her Empire. A t the time of the American Revolution that torch was taken across the Atlantic Ocean. It is now the possession of the United States of America. After this conflict this country and Canada will be one nation. The Empire will be gone and England reduced to a fourth rate power. We have, at times allowed the torch of truth to burn very dim.

In the meantime Australia has been watching us very closely and has been getting inspiration from us as much as from England. We prophesied that three or four years ago. I think that was in October, 1939. There is going to be a very close tie between Australia, New Zealand and the United States of America. And in addition to Canada it would not surprise me to see Mexico in the picture.

Now you can see that, believing as I do, I can not help any man or woman who runs afoul of the laws of the land or of the spiritual laws. I do not condemn them, I am sorry for any one who sins through ignorance. My attitude toward them is exactly the same as that toward Jewry. They, too, violate both the American and the Israel laws.

But there are some men and women in the field to whom I feel I must extend a helping hand, not that I agree entirely with them in their platform, but because they are. real Americans and they do believe in Christian ethics. Many of them have erroneous ideas, believing in the vicarious atonement and other doctrines to which I can not subscribe and which Jesus did not teach. The futuristic views of the interpretation of prophecy are Babylonian, but they know it not.

THE BEACON LIGHT — June, 1942 23

They certainly are not Christian. This doctrine is a part off the Roman Catholic set-up.

it At the present time every one who dares to speak the truth is subject to pressure. Now Mrs. Elizabeth Dilling is having a cruel smearing at the hands of the Synagogue of Satan through its various emissaries. Mrs. Dilling is a 100 per cent American patriot. She has done much to awaken people through her Bulletins and books. She has been smeared primarily because she is the author of The Red Network and The Roosevelt Red Record. Those two valuable books have made those in high places squirm, and they are determined to silence her at any cost; but I do not think they will ever succeed.

^ Rev. Gerald B. Winrod had his family tern asunder by individuals who would step at nothing. They have smeared him unmercifully. His conceptions of Christianity differ from mine, but that makes no difference. I believe he is conscientious and sincere, and. living up to the light he has, as is Mrs. Dilling. They are both working for the preservation of Christian America, and because of this they are entitled to our support.

V Down in San Diego we have one of the bravest men I have ever contacted. Not only is he brave and. fearless, but he is highly intelligent. He has an education in national and| world' affairs such as few men possess. Naturally a man whose life is dedicated to truth will make enemies, and C. Leon De Aryan, Editor of "The Broom" certainly has made them. He is also one of the kindest and most genercus men that I have ever met. Although born a Greek, I know of no one who is more zealous as a Christian American patriot than is De Aryan. This man is worth in dollars and cents, a million dollars to the City of San Diego, and to the nation at large, money beyond my ability to compute. The powers of darkness, through their vassals, are striving desperately to still his voice, and it would surely be a tragedy for them to suceed. I do not believe they will, for De Aryan leans heavily on the arm of God. I have never met his equal in that respect.

His views and mine are very similar, we have a great deal in common. Of course, we differ in some things, but that is our privilege. Now they are trying to strip him of his citizenship for no other reason than that he takes that duty in dead earnest. Would to God we had more De Aryan's. We need them, just as we need more Elizabeth Dillings and Gerald B. Winrods.

Of course, there are many others in the field whom I have mentioned from time to time. It- would take too long to enumerate

24 THE BEACON LSGHT June, 1942

them all. Right now Mrs. Elizabeth Di fling and De Aryag a re having an especially tough time. If these two go down it v/i!I he a tragic loss to this Republic. We need more such torches of t ru th , not fewer.

The common enemies think they are going to dxtinnu>h th e various torches carried by these men and women. I am firm ly convinced that they will not suceed because! God is in fu ll co m m an d , and his Satanic Majesty is steadily losing power, even a s th e "little brown men" fight in a losing cause in the Pacific oiidi fue m ighty Mussolini, now on his last legs, has become a m ere va sal of Germany and her dictator.

The world is now being judged, and the evil forces can not possibly win, in spite of outward appearances. So I am going to ask you to use discrimination as to the men and women you support. Be sure that you follow no one who is not pro-Am erican and pro-C hristian, otherwise, you, too, will land where they do, in th e junk pile.

During the past week there has been running through my head this quotation from the Letter to the Ephesians, w ritten by Paul. It was impressed on me during my visit, to San Francisco a few days ago. As there was no Gideon Bible in the hotel, I looked it up when I reached home. You understand why some hotels have no Bibles. Here is the complete quotation:

THE WHOLE ARMOR OP GOD. Ephesians 6:10-1''“Finally be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. P u t on the

whole armor of God that ye may be able to stand against the wiles cf the devil. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of darkness, against the spiritual wickedness in the heavenly places.

“Wherefore take up, the whole armor of God th a t ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and havng done all to ‘stand.

“Stand, therefore, having girded your loins withh truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having your feet shod with the preparation of the Gospel of peace. Withal taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one. And take the helm et of salvation, and the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God: with all prayer and supplication praying at all seasons in the spirit and watching thereunto in all perseverance and supplication for all the sain ts” .

I hope you will memorize it because it will give you renewed strength. Now, as I see it, if you accept our platform , you m ust stand fearlessly with the men and women who are figh ting our b a ttles. Remember, if you don't, it will be of no avail to ask God to help you with your problems. God only helps those who stand by His disciples, those who dare to carry the torch of liberty and tru th constantly before them.

In this connection I suggest you read our article on sp iritual p reparation in The Beacon Light for September, 1939, for it tells in de-

THE BEACON LIGHT — June, 1942 25tail how to get spiritual protection.

There are not many hours left of this old dispensation, and if you continue to compromise with evil, you will be definitely tied and destroyed with it. This is the law and not my opinion. So for your own prOtecton, take your stand with the God-fearing group of Americans who are bravely proclaiming the truth about national affairs and spiritual law.

Perhaps, even before this is |in print, |God is going to spepk through the elem ents in a way tha t will strike terror to the Administration and all who work for them. Again I say "Read the Preparation N um ber" and also "W hy Physical Disasters?"1 in the| April Num ber for 1940.

"W hen you see these things come to pass, rejoice, for your redem ption draw eth nigh". (Luke 21 :28).

No doctrine involving more pernicious consequences was ever devised by the wit of ,man, than th a t any of its provisions can ever be suspended during any of the great exigencies of governm ent".

4. QUESTION. Suppose for instance, that a Representative or Senator were to rise from his seat in Congress and denounce an occupant of the W hite House as a "stooge of foreign interests" or as

2 6 THE BEACON LIGHT — Ju n e , 1 9 4 2

an "enemy of the people", could the President order his arrest or sue him for libel?

ANSWER. No. Our wise forefathers not only guaranteed free speech for all citizens in the Amended! Bill of Rights, but they doubly protected the Senators and Representatives from despotism, by inserting in the original Constitution, Article I, Sec. 6, Clause 1, these words: "For any speech or debate in either House, they shall not be questioned in any other place".

5. QUESTION. Does the Constitution mention the words "Political", "party", or "nominating convention"?

ANSWER. No. Provision was not made in the Constitution for political parties or politics. The founding fathers considered such things evil, a failure throughout history, and destructive of represen- taitve institutions. President Washington in his Farewell Address referred to party politics as perpetrating the "most horrid enormities" and predicted a "formal and permanent despotism" if the destiny of the government should, at a future time, be shaped under such management. Our Fathers believed in wise representative government, and thought that citizens should elect self-supporting representatives who were statesmen at heart, interested in home and country, beyond the level of serving a political oligarchy as a means of livelihood.

6. QUESTION. Does the Constitution provide for the election of the President by the people?

ANSWER. It most emphatically does not, and the first six Presidents were not elected by the people. They were selected by "Electors", and these men were the ablest Executives ever to serve the Nation.

QUESTION. Were the early Electors chosen by vote of the people?

ANSWER. No. They were "appointed" by the legislatures, us the Constitution provides in Article 2, Sec. 1, Clause 2.

All the time the Constitutionaf delegates worked on the Constitution at Philadelphia, during May, June, July and August, 1787, they planned and assumed that the President would be elected by Congress. But as the session, drew near an end ip September and aversion to partyism increased, they devised ,a plan to lift the selection of a Chief Executive above the muck and' mire of politics, by creating the position and function of a new group, never before known in world history— an "Electoral College", whose members would be charged with responsibility of selecting some great and able

27THE BEACON LIGHT — June, 1942

man to fill the high office. It was, and is, charged in the Constitution that the President pickers must be free from the control or influence of the Chief Executive, in other words: "No Senators or Representatives, or person holding AN OFFICE OF TRUST OR PROFIT UNDER THE UNITED STATES, shall be appointed an Elector".

Our ancestors never dreamed that the Electors would be emasculated, made into puppets by a political oligarchy. They knew that a direct vote by the people for the Presidency would result in demagoguery and corruption of the worst sort. They never visioned the Frankenstein monsters of these later days, known as political machines and party oligarchies.

8. QUESTION. Do national political conventions have the sanction of the Constitution or Federal law?

ANSWER. No. The national party conventions which met in Philadelphia and Chicago in 1940, for instance, were governed by no law, except as created by their own political hacks, heels and stooges.

9. QUESTION. Do the people have anything to say about the selection of presidential candidates or delegates to national political conventions?

ANSWER. Nothing in most States, and very little in others. There are approximately 3300 small oligarchies, or political machines, one for each county in the United States. The rank and file of the people have little to do with the selection of delegates to district, state and national conventions. It is well nigh impossible for a private citizen to obtain hearing before a platform committee of such conventions, or even gain admittance to the hall where a district gathering is being held.

The Democratic convention of 1940 at Chicago, was packed with Federal appointees, as well as Senators, Representatives and other political stooges, in direct violation of the spirit of the United States Constitution. The Republican convention of 1940 at Philadelphia, which selected a turncoat Democrat named Willkie, was a similar monstrosity. The enslaved delegates were pushed and shoved around like so many cattle. When the political heads got together, less than one-tenth of them really preferred Willkie and three-fourths were postively opposed to him. Remember that this convention, like the one in Chicago, was a non-Constitutional affair, governed by no statue, Federal or State.

10. QUESTION. In what chief respect was the Electoral system superior to the present non-legal convention system used in selecting the. President?

28 THE BEACON LIGHT — June, 1942

ANSWER. The free Electors balloted for a President, and they selected the man they thought would make the best President. In a political convention the delegate stooges vote for the man they are told will be the greatest demagogue in courting votes from the lowest classes, also a m an who will be a politician and reward them with soft jobs os units of his political machine. Electors pick statesmen, while porty hocks and heels pick politicians and demagogues.

11. QUESTION. What is a political party?ANSWER. "A political party is a substitute for revolution", says

Professor Morse of Amherst in his book, "Parties and Party Leaders". Ballots are to be substituted for bullets. The government changes hands at the ballot box. But history affords no instance of the permanent success of any form of government which permits political hacks to pick a demagogue to direct the Country as he alone sees fit. Its end is always despotism because of the certain and sure tendency of the master faction to become an oligarchy, crushing organized opposition.

If the South had attained its independence in the American Civil War, the Slavery party of the South and the anti-Slavery party of the North, would each have become one party oligarchies in their respective nations. The South has long suffered under one-party political despotism (see W. H. Skagg' book, "The Southern Oligarchy"). White Republicans are today ostracized.in eight states where not one opposition vote exists in whole counties.

12. QUESTION. What are the weakest points of our Constitution?ANSWER. Failure to limit the tenure of the Presidential office,

to designate the number of Supreme Court judges on the bench, and to require judicial experience for eligibility; also to provide against political oligarchies.

13. QUESTION. Who are the leading critics and opponents of our present Constitution?

ANSWER. First, the Communists. Second, New Deal Socialists.14. QUESTION. What did Vice President Wallace say abour the

Constitution in 1935?ANSWER. In his book, "Whose Constitution?", the last chapter,

he says he hopes we can get rid of the old Constitution without bloodshed, and obtain a new one as easily as the first was adopted.

15. QUESTION. Can the United States be converted into a "Socialist Democracy" (or despotism) without amending the Constitution?

ANSWER. No; not legally. The rights of free enterprise and pri-

THE BEACON LIGHT — June, 1942 29

vote ownership are among the powers reserved to the people in the Constitution.

16. QUESTION. Can Congress tax the American people for the support of a foreign government?

ANSWER. Not legally, without first amending the Constitution.

B O O K R E V I E W STHOUGHTS THROUGH SPACE: By Sir Hubert Wilkins and Harold Sherman.

In such a materialistic as* as we are living in, this is rather a comforting book because while it makes no pretense at being spiritual in character, it does place emphasis on something that is not material. Wilkins is known as a realist. as he must be to be an explorer, and yet he gives us a book of over 400 pares, which is history of telepathic messages between himself and Mr. Sherman.

S ir Hubert was in the Arctic searching for six lost Russian aviators, and Mr. Sherman vras in New York City. The results are rather uncanny. I have been receiv ing telepathic messages nearly all of my life, so I know It can be done. It is a daily occurrence with me. so I am in position to know. In addtion you get a t first hand, the experiences of Wilkins.

This book will be accepted as a textbook: of that there is no doubt, because th e calibre and prominence of the men and the uncanny occurrences will force i t s recognition and acceptance.

Ths is a fine bock for the boy or girl who has been poisoned with the materialistic doctrines at college. Youngsters will enjoy it because it is fascinating to say th e least. It is rather a massive volume of 421 pages and contains 11 illustrations including a portrait of Sir Hubert. It is attractvely bound in cloth a n d sells for $4-50. A NEW EARTH AND A NEW HUM A N ITY : B y O liv e r L . R e is e r .The title is very attractive. It was written by a college professor and it will

take college people to appreciate it because I don’t. I t is ACADEMIC in capital letters, certainly not a book for practical every day hum an beings.

Of course, the book is not without its points, but I simply am giving my impression of it. However, I agree with it in this: “Education is a racket”.Amen. I would like the book if the author had used fewer and simpler words. The academic type of mind might enjoy it.

It surely has a wonderful Index of 25 pages. The main p art of the book has 209 pages with an Appendix of 12 pages. The volume is cloth bound and sells for $250.THE CONFLICT OF THE AGES OR GOD’S BLUEPRINTS:

By Tacy Weinreber. This is a book of Israel teachings, but it confines itsefl to Israel and leaves

the word British out, that, is to say, it is not all built around Britain as most of these books are. On the contrary the writer said, “ America is the appropriate place for Israel” not England.

If you are a Bible student and especially if you are acquainted with the Israel theory, you will learn much. The author is an original thinker, he follows no one. It is too bad that most of our New Dealers can not read it. They might learn something.

The author challenges the idea of the Immaculate Conception as not being listed in God’s Blueprint and quotes Scripture to prove his point.

The chapter, “Rome’s Part in This Drama of Destiny” is ra ther interesting. Then the next chapter, “Martin Luther Appears on the S tage” takes up many knotty problems of Scripture that we do not usually find discussed.

In closing, we especially recommend the chapter devoted to Rome. The bok contains 128 pages, is cloth bound and sells for $1.00.

HOW TO LEARN ASTROLOGY: By Marc Edmund Jones. This is another of the Marc Edmund Jones series written for beginners. It

reminds me somewhat of Allen Leo’s “ Everybody’s Astrology”, now out of print. Of course, there is much new material here, and I see th a t there is also much that has been quoted from Allen Leo.

As one would find true in the previous books, so you will find many charts used in this one as illustrations. Some of these are Woodrow Wilson, Queen Victoria, Martin Luther and many others.

This is a very fine book to give to a beginner as a foundation, and also have one for yourself. Even if you are well advanced, you will find some parts very helpful.

The volume is cloth bound, contains 178 pages and sells for $1.50.LIVES CONTROLLED, OUR GLANDS A N D O U R E V O L V E M E N T .

By M. W. Kapp, M. D.Briefly, as the title implies, this book depicts the tremendous effect on our

lives by various glands in the body. I t is unusual in this respect, th a t here is s man who gives the spiritual side of man its proper place. In fact, he believes in spiritual evolution. He gives you the history of the study of the types of endocrines and hormones.

In reading this book I was struck with the idea of what a fine substitute this book would make in High Schools and Colleges, whose shelves are loaded down with books that treat man purely as an animal.

Here is a Doctor who considers man as a whole, or ra ther the ego and the four bodies, the Physical, the Emotional, the Mental arid the Spiritual. Of course, it would raise a controversy because he contradicted, and rightly so. the materialistic philosophy, the whole emphasis of which is on the physical body of man, especially sex.

He ends with sugestive items of diet to strengthen weakened glands. I t is not a large book. It has fewer than a hundred pages with a few illustrations and charts, but it does contain meat.

It has soft paper cover and sells for $1.00,

THE BEACON LIGHT — June, 1942 35

T H E L U N A T I O N O F J U N E 1 3 , 1 9 4 2

This is a very interesting lunation, rather outstanding. You recall th a t in our lunation for November 18th, printed in the December num ber, on page 19, we said 'H ere we find M ars in Aries, its own sign, in the 10th house', warlike activities by the Administration and in Congress. Later on we said 'you may expect unexpected tragedy; the unexpected will happen '. And again, 'You may expect another incident similar to th a t of the Kearney'. And again : 'N ote the presence of M ars, right on the cusp of the house of war, ad verse to Sun and Saturn. . . I trem ble for the outcome of this configuration. If we keep out of a shooting war throughout the period while M ars is in Aries, I shall call it a modern miracle. The first week of December is extrem ely critical, for then M ars is exactly ad verse to our national Sun, and the latter posted in the 9 th house, all the indications of a conflict on foreign soil'. And we had Pearl Horboi.

But now, in this lunation, we have just the reverse; M ars is in Cancer, a sign where it is very weak. W e say it is the sigh of its fall. On the other hand, we find Venus instead of M ars in the house of war, and Venus is the p lanet of peace; and Venus is in its own sign, a t home in Taurus. It also rules the 12th house of this chart. And, to sum it up, I would say there is a trem endous under-cover sentim ent in favor of peace; but the average individual is afraid to express his sentim ents. Revelations a t W ashington have had a very bad effect on the morale of the nation; many are beginning to per- cieve that the country vyas engineered into war, and the shocking disclosures of the A dm inistration 's plans, land th a t the \yinning of the war is of secondary im portance to their social program, have come as a shock to the nation. And so the peace indications of this chart will find many who were decidedly warlike three m onths ago, who now have considerable doubts. However, I do not believe peace will prevail, nor am I personally in favor of it, although you may be shocked a t this announcem ent. For a patched-up or negotiated peace a t th is tim e, especially as fa r as Japan is concerned, will only bring a resum ption of this trouble later on. America m ust be freed of the Japanese m enace once and for oil, and they m ust and will be m ade im potent. The Japanese are below the people of Am erica in evolution, and suprem acy of Jap an would be a blow to the advancem ent of civilization.

Regarding the conflict in Europe, I am still of the opinion th a t

36 THE BEACON LIGHT — June, 1942

Germany and Russia should fight until exhausted; and th a t would have happened, ha d we stayed out of the picture. However, I still believe there is a secret agreement between Russia and Germany.

Of course we have Scorpio rising in this chart, pulling against the influence of Venus in the 7th, but Venus is morg powerfully placed than Mars. Nevertheless, Mars, the ruler of the ascendant, in the 9th, both water signs, indicates tremendous naval ba ttles adjoining foreign countries and not close to our shores. And we must not lose sight of the fact that Mars and Pluto are ih conjunction. And so o very outstanding naval engagement will take) place, and both sides will foke tremendous odds, and the seemingly impossible will be accomplished. We shall find that Uncle Sam's sailor boys a rc very superior to the best the enemy can offer, o h I

It is not merely a material superiority, for we do no t have it; there is a spiritual superiority. As we review the chart of the United States, we can not possibly hope for peace of a lasting nature; our national chart indicates conflict for a long time to come, within and without. Every astrological student knows th a t the passage of Uranus through Gemini means 7 years of conflict. For details, read 'National Destiny', which goes into it in a very exhaustive manner. And so, in spite of all our fine theories of peace, it's not in the cards. Only the purifying fire of war will regenerate this nation. The Synagogue of Satan are in full control here, as abroad; and the sorrow and suffering from war will awoken our people to a spiritual realization. The modern prophets have preached for years on the necessity of housecleaning and regeneration; but it never caused a ripple. If the nation had heeded the voice of the prophets, this war would not have happened.

We refused that appeal, but we can not refuse regeneration through the blood-bath of war. Suppose a negotiated peace were brought about; we would slide back into the old channels of complacency. But God will not permit our returning to the old ways; and so, through earthquakes and tidal waves and pestilence, we would get the some results, regeneration through suffering.

The average man and woman think they can set certa in forces in motion, and then tease God into setting aside the law of cause and effect. It is not quite so simple. The Good Book says, Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a m an soweth, th a t shall he also reap. Look at the corruption jn our Government a t W ashington today; no semblance of Christian culture remains. But W ashington is a symbol of the degeneracy gf the nation. However, through

THE BEACON LIGHT — June, 1942 37suffering, they will send a different type of people to represent them. There is no remission of sins without the shedding of blood, whether you bglieve it or not.

Another reason why I believe peace impossible: Take the souls who came into incarnation during the last war, at which time we had some very vicious planetary configurations, mostly from the fixed signs of Leo and Aquarius. I had an astrological study class in 1912; and I remarked to my class, '|The souls who come into incarnation in the next ten years will be fighters; warriors; which indicates to me that when they grow up there will be a big world conflict— that is, 20 to 25 years later". And so I was not surprised to see that war, I knew it would come; and I believe it beyond the power of man to stop it, unless it were possible to break down the corruption that exists throughout the world over night. I am convinced that only suffering will do that, and so I do not look for permanent peace; and I have given my reasons for so stating.

There is still an other indication th a t we can not expect peace, in spite of the fact that the bulk of humanity, the world over, does not want war. Only those in control want war, but those in control are being used by Divinity to force humanity to liquidate their debts to spiritual law.

But to come back to the chart; we have Uranus also in the 7th but fairly close to the cusp of the 8th, and it is in good aspect to Mars and Pluto, and indicates that even the dictators would like to have peace. But they are powerless to stop the machine tjney have se: in motion.

It also indicates some startling new methods on the part of our enemies, Uranan methods, the product of science and invention, and with unusual air activity. And with Uranus now in Gemini, more and more of the conflict will be in the air. And we may expect to see the use of poison gas, an indication tha t the war is in the third and last stage of its activities. The war will be more savage, more brutal and more devastating as poison gas will snuff out the lives of tens of thousands, yes, millions, over night. And it will be directed, to a large extent, a t the civil population of the large centers. Cities and countries ruled by Gemini will bear the brunt of this. We haven't very much reliable information on American cities, although today most astrologers think San Francisco is ruled by Gemini. We do know that London, England, is ruled by Gemini; and it will be one of the major focusing centers of gas a ttack, and very few will survive.

"We have a grouping of planets in the 8th house in this lunation,

a n d S a tu rn a n d Uranus n e a r th e cusp. Sun, Moon, Mercury and Jupiter are also there, the latter four are all a d v e rse to Neptune; and so we may e xp e c t an epidemic of sickness and death. T h at Saturn- Uranus position indicates a very heavy mortality. Neptune in the 11th, and with 4 planets adverse to it, indicates th a t Congress is beginning to realize the enormity of some of their past acts; they are beginning to see the fruits of some of the vicious laws they passed, the billions of dollars they voted without dueThought and consideration. They ore beginning to review the vicious W bgner Act because the actions erf labor in conjunction with the Administration will show them that it can have only one end, namely, bankruptcy for the middle class— the employer, the m anufacturer, the backbone of the nation. But the Wagner Act does not stand alone; they will begin to p e rc ie ve that the 'm ust' legislation of the President, with the capstone ̂ of the lend-lease bilf7 means the end of the American way of life. The people already percieve it; and Sun, Moon and Mercury adverse to Neptune indicates tha t the people are conveying that informatjon to their representatives jn Congress. Congress is panicky, and you may expect to see sudden deaths of members of that body; andthough it may never be announced as such, there will be suicides_of Congressmen. The news will be cam ouflaged, and announced to the public as sudden heart attack.

The little puppets in Washington will begin to perceive nor only the voice of the people, but the hand of God. And like King Belshazzar, they will see the handwriting on the wall. M any who come up for re-election will decide they don 't want to go back.

This lunation will have a marked effect in the nation as ir pertains to the coming election; the Primaries will already be settled by the time you receive this, and the powers tha t be will be scheming for the way out to prevent the' election. Rest assured, as I stated in the January number, the New Deal can not afford to have an election this year; and the voters will need to be on guara.

We have repeatedly told the indications of sickness, in the past few months. I want you to realize that the planets do not m ake you sick; they only indicate harvest time. If you are sick, one of two things, possibly both,, have happened. First, you are suffering from toxemia, a poisoned bloodstream due to a d iet 'th a t is clogging; white bread, white sugar, 4white of eggs, meat, and excess proteins, clog the system and you have congestion and sickness. Then uyain,

THE BEACON LIGHT — Ju n e , 1942 39

90 per cent of the nation is under-nourished. Oh, yes, they nave three square meals a day— of devitalized foods. Their blooa is deficient in the natural salts of the body. There are two ways t o replace the deficiency of salts and vitamins. Cell salts will do wonders; herbs and vegetables will replace the vitamins, besides casting out the refuse of the toxins in the system. You will find the Kamba herb very efficient in cleaning up the intestinal tract, which is the first place to start. Eliminate bread from your diet entirely if you are an adult— although children would be better off without it. White bread, white sugar, polished rice and starches are the devitalized foods that cause the accumulation of pus and bring about inflamed tonsils, adenoids and the catarrhal, congested condition. Fruits, vegetables and herbs are life-giving, and are the natural food of man. Eliminate alcohol and tobacco, and nature will do the rest. Those who observe these rules will not suffer when the epidemics of sickness sweep the land. These epidemics will strike only those with fertile soil in their bloodstreams; so eliminate the poisons, anc supply the deficiencies, and cultivate a profound faith in God, and you will have no health problem.

One more thing; don 't try to work the clock around. That has been my undoing for many years. But the very nature of my work makes it impossible for me to carry out my own prescription; you wouldn't have a Beacon Light if I did. I am doing better than I used to since we have eliminated all personal readings; but there is still more work than two people should be doing, and we still find it necessary to work 7 days a week, although it is contrary to spiritual law.

Y O U A N D Y O U R A S P E C T S F O R J U N E , 1 9 4 2

Inasmuch as most of the planets are in common signs, the natives of the 4 common signs will begin to feel the pressure very heavily this month; th a t is, the Pisceans; Geminis, Virgos and Sagittarians. You see we have no less than 7 planets in common signs, and 3 of them powerful malefics. Those born in the first 5 days of common signs will feel the effect of the Saturn-Uranus combination, and those born the last 5 degrees will feel the effect of the square, conjunction or opposition of Neptune. Any beginners' book on astrology will give you the dates; we have given it repeatedly in the past. Get yourself a copy of Practical Astrology for Everybody ($1.05, see our book lists) and you will find the dates when the Sun enters

40 THE BEACON LIGHT — June, 1942

the 4 common signs, which is usually about the 20th to 21st of the months of February, May, August and November; the days vary a little. The Sun enters Pisces on February 19th, into Virgo around the 22nd or 23 rd of August.

Now those born the last few days of the common signs are going to feel the effect of tha t Sun, Moon and M ercury adverse to Neptune; that is, those born around M arch 18, June 19, Septem ber 20 and December 20. If any of these dates is your birthday, you need to see that the colon is thoroughly cleansed, e ither through herb treatm ents or colonic irrigation; for this is’ judgm ent day, and if your colon is full of putrefaction M other N ature will let you know, in no uncertain terms. And if you are lacking in the natu ra l salts and vitamins you will have an unnatural craving for stim ulants of some kind; teia, coffee, chocolate, coca-cola, beer, liquor and cigarettes.

|Now in spite of what you may think to the contrary, none of these are foods; and they are mighty poisonous substitu tes for the natural salts and vitamins which you lack. W atch your acquain tances who are born around these dates, and you will see the tru th of my sta tements. This Neptune ray turns the searchlight upon them ; as a result, they go for stimulants instead of supplying the required needs of the body in salts and vitamins.

The man or woman who says 'I c an 't do w ithout my tea, or coffee', is no better off than the man who can 't do w ithout his liquor on beer or tobacco; for they all have the sam e effec t on the vital organs, especially the liver, kidney and stom ach, and so eventually a ffect the heart. The very fact th a t coffee drinkers havel a headache when they don't get their coffee gives the gam e away; they have a toxfc headache.

Now we are a t war, let’s make it thorough; le t's declare active warfare on the sale of anything that tears down and produces sickness in the body; let's close these fancy bejeweled saloons, politely called cocktail bars. We can soon cut off their wind by denying tires for their trucks; why not? The milkman can ge t no tires..

Astrology indicates th a t booze is going to go as soon as Neptune enters Libra; and it will go to stay this time. And so let's declare war on all alcoholic drinks and tobacco; look a t the dam nable effect it has on school girls and boys. W omen have less restra in t than men in smoking. Soft drinks as we have them today m ust go; they are almost as disastrous in their effect on the stom ach, liver and 6 copies o f th is issue for $ 1 .0 0 ; c ircu la te th e m a m o n g y o u r friends.

THE BEACON LIGHT — June, 1942 41kidneys as whiskey. The same is true of tea, coffee and cocoa; the latter is a very bilious concoction.

Now I know we all like to pick on the other fellow's sins; the Prohibitionist is usually very fond of his coffee or tea; but this time we must make a clean sweep, and get back to healthful living. All that is not in harmony with the laws of God or nature must go, and those who refuse will walk the plank, as individuals or nations. There can be no use for these things in the kingdom of God that is going to prevail here on earth. Read 'Thy Kingdom Corns' for details.

And so, while we are tearing down the old, let's take in the departm ent of diet, and clean house there.

And in the realm of economics, let's overhaul our financial structure; we will have to anyway, the old system is crumbling. And so- again I say, these adverse aspects of Saturn and Neptune are merely natu re 's efforts toward spring cleaning, through sickness; they represent judgm ent day and are really beneficial in nature because through sickness they throw off the poisons that are killing you. Nevertheless, much dead wood will be eliminated this month; a lready the world is much cleaner and lighter than it was a year ago. Any sentitive can tell you th a t; I am fully| conscious of it. Many karmic debts have been paid during the last six months especially.

This Neptunian vibration will strike hard around the 19th of the month when the Sun squares th a t point; it will make itself felt for a week before and after, however. Fortunately it is offset considerably by M ars favorable to Uranus on the 17th and to Saturn on the 23rd, and further the Sun conjoined to Jupiter on the 25th; otherwise it would be considerably worse.

As the m onth closes, Mercury and Venus parallel to Mars and conjoined to Uranus will bring sensational news; note the 21st and 30th of the m onth, for on the 21st we have Mars conjoined with Pluto and parallel to Uranus. There will undoubtedly be a tremendous naval engagem ent on th a t date. And the Moon will be coming up to a conjunction of Neptune and adverse to. the Sun; not a very auspicious day. And on .the 30th Mercury and Venus are parallel and conjunction to M ars and Uranus. In addition, we have the Moon in opposition to Mars. And so history will be mode on these two c’ates. The 21st d a te will have a marked effect on Congress; watch your papers. And the 30th date the Moon is in the 3rd house, sensational news.

and very depressing in others. SatO rn-U ranus in th e H e a v e n s : The conjunction of Saturn and Uranus in the heavens, on the cusp of Gemini, will affect every human | b e in g on earth. I will attempt to apply it to a few„charts within the limits of our space.

Let us apply it to the chart of Japan. It falls right over Neptune, posted in their first house, and is square to Mercury and coming up to a conjunction of Pluto. However, I think their goose will be cooked before Pluto gets into action, the latter being 3 degrees, 55 minutes in Gemini. Even at that, Saturn will be sitting right over their Pluto during the first half -ef June. In my opinion this conjunction will produce chaos in Japan; and that chaos will come largely'through American bombers in the air. And by the way, it is the airplane that will win this war, now that U ranus is in Gemini. The Uranian airships will carry Saturnian death. V / / S f i t (j! C

By a strange coincidence, the chart of Henry W a llace and the chart of Japan are very similar; the Japanese chart is 18 degrees of Taurus on the ascendant, and W a llace 's has 14 degrees. W a llace was born October 7, 1888, and the Japanese national chart is on February 11,1889; and so you see there is only a difference of 4 months between these charts. And as Japan is being licked, so you will find the prestige of Henry W allace go down. Both have Saturn in Leo and in the 4th house, not a very good omen.

But I had better stick to Japan, except to say that as far os W a llace is concerned, his future, as the I rishm an expressed it, is all behind him. The date given above for the chart of Japan is the date| on which she adopted her present form of government.

In our lunation of June 13 we find Jupiter on the cusp of Japan'* 3rd house, adverse to Venus and Uranus, and M ars, the war lord, or the cusp of the 4th, coming up to a conjunction of Saturn. It indi| cotes that Japan's lines of com m unication will be cut. The peopu of Jopan will receive much adverse news; and the passage of M a i

through their 4 th house, especially when it conjoins their Saturn around July 10th, land later opposes their Sun around July 20th, will have a very bad effect on the morale of the Japanese people. Japan can not possibly win. She had a powerful machine to start with, a ir and naval supremacy, and a perfect plan; their naval strength outnum bers ours in the Pacific, by 3 or 4 to one; her navy alm ost equals our total navy. But our one-ocean navy is scattered over 7 oceans and hers is all in the pacific. But the American bomber is going to m ake up the deficiency. The Japanese, like the Germans, are m ethodical, and trained to follow a plan; the moment th a t plan is disrupted, they are chaotic. Americans have initiative, and are able to form ulate their own plans in an emergency. We call it by o ther nam es, but this is spiritual insight, inspiration. And so we shall lick Japan by our spiritual superiority, in spite of our many shortcomings. So I say this Saturn-Uranus conjunction is the death-knell of Japan . And from an astrological point of view, we should concentra te on the Pacific first; and then when Japan is out of the way we can turn our attention to the Atlantic where we can repeat the formula. A t present we are too scattered.

Now in our national chart, th a t Saturn-Uranus combination is in good aspect to Pluto. Jup iter is powerfully placed, right over Venus, and coming up to a conjunction of Jupiter, a wonderful indication of victory. And M ars, the war lord, right over our midheaven. And so I expect a very decisive battle in the Pacific, for it is too early for such a thing to happen on the Atlantic battlefront.

And th a t Jup iter crossing our Venus is another indication of a tremendous peace effort during the month of June. It is not in the cards for Japan to win; the comparison of the charts shows th a t quite clearly. Let us look a t the chart of the Emperor of Japan; we find this Saturn-U ranus combination on the cusp of the 6th house. This rules the arm ed forces of that nation, and it is certainly not an indication of success for their efforts. Saturn in one's 6 th house makes one indisposed, sluggish and demoralized; tha t will be the condition of the arm ed forces of Japan. And Mars going through the Emperor's 8th house, afflicting Venus and the Sun, indicates a tremendous casualty list.

This Saturn combination has a devastating effect in the chart of Mussolini, with no possible chance of going anywhere except to the garbage dump. Mussolini would like peace, and how! But alas for him, I see no prospect of peace; only pieces.

44 THE BEACON LIGHT — June, 1942

As we take a look at Hitler's c h a rt, we find very similar testimonies, Hitler being born in 1889, the same year that Japan adopted her new form of government; and there are only a few months between the two birth dales or charts. The houses are different, however; this Saturn-Uronus combination falls in the house of death, and of the ruler of Germany, and this is likely to come through assassination rather than on the battlefield. Hitler, like Mussolini, is practically finished; even the benefic Jupiter, a t the tim e of the New Moon, is in opposition to his Moon and Jupiter a t birth, and Mars, the war lord, afflicts his Sun at birth, and toward the end of June afflicts his Saturn Venus and Mars in the 10th. And so I am convinced that this summer, June or July, will see the end of Hitler.

Let's take a glance a t the chart of the Third Reich, which came into being on January 30th, 1933. This is a rather powerful chart, more so than the others we have considered, and is second only to the chart of the U. S. The Germans themselves will dispose of Hitler, but there will be a battle-royal when we really tangle with Germany. The Germans will fight stubbornly, bcause they remember the Treaty of Versailles. This treaty brought about the present war; of that there is no question, all statesm en agree on tha t point. And so the.Grmans will fight stubbornly because they will expect another Treaty of Versailles if defeated. However, I may say they will be defeated; but there will be no Treaty of Versailles this time; public opinion will forbid it, even in the U. S. A.

This Saturn-Uranus condition is not so disastrous in the German chart as in the Japanese or Italian. And so you see tha t Hitler and Germany have come to the parting of the ways; their national chart continues to show strength, and Hitler's, death and destruction. However, there will be terrific losses in Germany; a t this time Jupiter afflicts the Moon, and the Moon represents the masses of the people. And here again as in the case of Japan, we find Mars going through the 4th and afflicting Mercury, Saturn and the Sun; again we find indications of body blows as the month of June closes and July opens up.

The German people would like peace, especially after they have disposed of Hitler; and only the shadow of the Treaty of Versailles will hold them back from saying so.

The progresed Moon in the chart of the Third Reich will form some very heavy afflictions throughout 1942, especially the latter

T H E B EA C O N L IG H T — June, 1942 45half of the year and the first few months of '43, indicating a series of disasters, for it afflicts Mercury, Saturn and the Sun. Note the similarity of aspects to those in the chart of Japan.

And here is a remarkable coincidence; both the Japanese chart and the German chart have 18 degrees of Taurus on the ascendant. And so you can see why the tie-up. This is something more than a coincidence.

Now, what does it do for Stalin? The luncation of June 13 is right in Stalin's house of death, afflicting Mercury, Uranus and Ju piter. The shadow of death is in the background. Jupiter in the 8th is usually benefic, but it is coming up to an opposition to the Sun and an adverse to Saturn. Here again, this influence comes into full force in July, as indicated in the other charts. W atch your papers throughout the month of July, when Jupiter touches off this point,, which it does around the 20th. Mars falls in the 9 th house, and comes up to an adverse of Neptune and Mars, which is complete in the first week of July; and so the first half of July will be very critical for Stalin personally.

Now the new Russian set-up came into being on November 9, 1917. Here again, as in Germany, we find tha t the nation and the ruler are divided, for this lunation somewhat favors Russia, falling on the cusp of her 9 th house in good aspect to her Uranus; trem endous help from a foreign nation. And tha t nation will be the U. S. A., for our Sun is in her 9th house. However, I see serious trouble for Russia, culm inating in August. But the presence of Mars in Leo, which enters with the New Moon, soon comes to a conjunction of N eptune around the 20th , and for the tim e being will have a rather disastrous effect, and will bring serious dissention among the leaders of the nation; which will be patched up, but will break out afresh toward the close of th e month. And the first 10 days of July, as M ors conjoins Saturn and afflicts Sun, U ranus and M ercury, will bring serious consequences. And the opposition to U ranus especially m eans internal dissention, for Uranus is posted in the 4 th house, ruling dom estic a ffa irs of the nation.

In conclusion, as we glance at the various charts, we see no unity within the nations; on the contrary we have a serious division; and internal dissention am ong these nations will be a g rea t help to the U. S. in th is trem endous world conflagration known as W orld W ar No. 2. In July and A ugust we shall have even more startling inform ation, for we see world affairs heading up to a serious crisis; an d

Now, acco rd ing to th e solid fac ts which C hairm an Dies has laid before th e A tto rn ey G eneral a t th e la tte r 's own request, our Gove rn m en t is sw arm ing w ith the sam e type of boring insects th a t made of France a hollow house. "Without exception, the evidence' upon which this list has been compiled is taken from original documents. These docum ents are available for the inspection and study of your agents, just as they have been available to all agents of the Federal Governm ent for the past three years". Three years of boring into our very vitals and nothing has been done! We are being subm arined a t home.

Our War and Navy Departments a re reeking with fifth columnists. And nothing is being don e about it!In the appropriation bill passed last June $100 ,000 was voted

for the exclusive use of the FBI to investigate "em ployees of every department, agency and independent establishm ent of the Federal Government who are members of subversive organizations or advocate the overthrow of the Federal Government and report its findings to Congress.

That was six months ago. W hat has become of the money?Where are the results? Where is the report to Congress?Pigeon-holed— Submarined.Chairman Dies has laid names before the prosecuting officer of

the Government. The public has a right to demand again th a t A ttorney General

Biddle print all the names, with their positions and salaries, of the men and women in the Government service who, as Chairm an Dies says, are working for the overthrow of the U nited S tates Government and seek to substitute for it the brutal d ictatorship of Communism.

Turn the light of publicity into the rat-holes of W ashington! THEIR NAMES!"

After having read the above, what are you going to do abou t it? You can do a great deal about it. The A dm inistration has done everything in their power to discredit Dies and his com m ittee. Nothing but public opinion is going to force the Ad'm inistratoin to act, or rather I should say Congress, because the A dm inistration is not going to throw itself out of office. Today Congress is carrying water on both shoulders. This is an election yearj you know. They want the blessing of the Administration and they w ant the votes of their people.

There is where you come in. You m ust let them know in no uncertain terms, that you do the voting and not the A dm inistration.

Why should Congress fear the Administration? In th e first place they are small potatoes in most cases, politicians of the lowest type.

THE BEACON LIGHT — June, 1942 51

Never in the history of our country was the calibre of Congress as low as it is a t present. Let me quote an editorial th a t I picked up recently th a t tells the story of the whip the A dm inistration is using. All the Adm inistration has to do is to accuse them of being pro- Nazi and they shrivel up like a feather in a fire.

“ The technique for holding skittish Democrats in line behind the New Deal appears to have been worked oilt. It is to accuse every critic of the Administration of being a Nazi agent!

The thing is so childish as to be almost unbelievable; but the pattern is clearly discernible and runs like a thread through the canned speeches and statements penned by the New Deal press agencies and spouted by such stooges as dan be induced to put the idea across.

If the President carries out his implied Intention of supporting ior re- election to Congress in November only those who supported his prewar measures, he will most certainly rim into another complication”.

Now th a t we are a t war, the Redd are jumping into every nook and cranny of National Defense, especially the ICD. At this point go back and re-read "W ashington 's Vision in A ction" (Beacon Light, Feb. 1942) because I w ant you to hold th a t p icture in mind, for th a t is a b lu tp rin t of the Reds within our borders.

I am now going to quote an editorial from the Los Angeles Examiner of M arch 9 th , confirm ing the s ta tem en t th a t I have m ade many times, nam ely th a t for one Nazi there are 100 Reds, bu t the N azis ge t a thousand tim es more attention. How does th is come?

There have been investigations w ithout num ber recently . Take the case of Harry Bridges. The investigation of D ean Landis was a farce, but the eleven weeks trial before Judge Sears was d ifferen t. And here we find H arry Bridges, in spite of his conviction, w anting to set up his own defense organization. How do you like th e following? s

AUDACIOUS SCHEME Ascribed to Harry Bridges

The alien labor leader, Harry Bridges, over whom a judicial recom m endation for deportation as an undesirable a lien still hangs, has surpassed his own p ast record for sheer audac ity . It is reported th a t the W est Coast division of the Congress of Industria l O rgan izations has se t up an " independen t" defense o rg an iza tio n fo r the following am azing purposes:

To m ake reports on sabo tage, fires and a ir ra ids d irec tly to Bridges, and to carry ou t specific instructions not to m ake such reports to civil au thorities and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The e ffec t of th is audacious enterprise is to estab lish a purely private and wholly unauthorized defense o rgan ization , a t th e very least in duplication of legal and recognized defense estab lishm ents and alm ost certainly in conflict with au thorita tive agencies. It is contem ptuous and d e fian t of actual Governm ent agencies, bo th Federal and local. It am ounts to the setting up of g o vernm en t within governm ent.

It implies not simply the unauthorized collection of inform ation b u t the unauthorized use of it, which would be an invasion of the legally constitu ted fields of au thority and a usu rpa tion of powers for which there is no shadow of legality. This would be an excessively dangerous enterprise, if undertaken with unassailab le m otives by
