Noble Charles Titus was named 2015 Shriner of the Year by Ill. Sir Connie
Jacobi. Since Noble Charles has been here he has always stepped forward to
help wherever he can. The most recent was when we needed someone to take over
the Bingo kitchen after Noble Fred Phillips passed away. Noble Charlie assumed
the kitchen duties on Tuesdays for the weekly Bingo. We never miss a Tuesday
without having food ready for our Bingo players.
Here are some interesting things about Noble Charles Titus. Charlie started out
in Bloomington, Indiana. He retired from Bloomington, Indiana Fire Department
in 1977. He joined the Masonic Lodge No. 245 in Ellettsville, Indiana and the
York Rite in Bloomington, Indiana both in 1972. Then on to the Murat Shrine in
Indianapolis in 1972 and the Scottish Rite in 1975.
Charlie belonged to the Stone Belt Shrine Club in Bloomington, Indiana and
rode in the Cycle Unit and he also was on the Board of Directors. In 1980, Charlie
joined Araba Temple in Fort Myers, Florida with a dual membership with Murat
where he also rode a motorcycle. He transferred from Murat in 2012 to become a
member of Sahib Shriners. He has joined the Aides, Greeters, Kentucky Colonels
and the Manatee Shrine Club.
He met his wife, Lady Pat, in 1982 and became a permanent resident of Florida
in 2002 settling in Bradenton, Florida.
Ill. Sir Connie was proud to name this very active Shriner “Shriner of the Year
for Sahib Shriners”. Please congratulate Charlie when you see him.

Potentate’snotes
Greetings nobles and ladies, On October 3, 2015, Shriners Hospital for Children in Tampa held its 30th Anniversary Celebration.
They opened the hospital in 1985. Sahib’s Divan, Motor Corps, Clowns, Model Ts and Sahib Members helped to get the celebration off to a great day. Noble Bob Rodd was there taking many pictures. Thanks to all that attended. Time flies when you are having fun and Sahib is the place to have a good time with fellow Shriners and their ladies. If you missed any of the things going on this year it is not too late as there are many good times left during 2015. Hope to see you there.
During this year, 2015, we had thirty-three new nobles to join Sahib Shriners. The Full Ceremonial held on September 16, 18 and 19 was a great thing for Sahib as many new nobles have joined a club or unit. Some are still looking, so if you see them ask them to join you at your club or unit meeting.
Noble Delbert Rawlinson was appointed High Priest & Prophet to fulfill the term of Noble Dorè Patlian who resigned due to personal reasons. We will miss Noble Dorè but be sure to give a high-five to new High Priest & Prophet Del.
The Memorial Brick Walk project in front of the building is being completed by the Boy Scouts (Eagle Scout Project). Be sure to see the flyer in this Reporter and order your brick. This is an ongoing fundraiser for Sahib.
A special thanks to the nobles and ladies who worked selling Sahib Shrine Circus tickets at the UTC kiosk and Sahib Atrium. We really had a great Circus team. Thanks to all for your hard work. Ill. Sir Dale and his team really worked hard to get all these things together.
A Memorial Service for all of our nobles that were taken by the Black Camel will be held on November 8 at 1:00 p.m.
Our Crabfest or Prime Rib Dinner will be featured in the Main Hall on Friday, November 13. Be sure to contact Marylou for your tickets at (941) 366-4449, ext. 320. The Divan ladies are having a Fashion Show at Sahib in the Main Hall on November 14. This is a fundraiser for Sahib Shriners and we hope many of our ladies support this. Be sure to see one of the Divan ladies for your tickets.
The Salute to Veterans will be November 20 at 6:00 p.m. Look for more information in this Reporter. On November 26, Sahib Shriners will have the Thanksgiving Day Grand Buffet in the Sahara Room. Chef Bob and Ed Shauan and staff have many good food items planned for your enjoyment. Be sure to make your reservations through Marylou. Be sure to tell her what seating you would like to attend.
The FEZtival of Trees will begin on Friday, November 27 in the Main Hall of Sahib Shriners. Bring the kids, grandkids, neighbors and friends for a fun time. Santa and his Elves will be there for pictures. You could even win a decorated Christmas tree. If you would like to participate in this fundraiser, contact Chief Rabban Carroll Scribner who is doing an excellent job heading up this Sahib fundraiser.
Remember, December 2 is the Stated Meeting and Election of Sahib Officers for 2016, at 7:30 p.m. in the Main Hall. I am proud to serve the nobility. Stay healthy and remember those who are not.(Yours in the Faith)
Respectfully,
Connie Jacobi, Potentate

Chief Rabban’s notesby Carroll G. Scribner, [email protected]
Recorder’s notesby Ed Firquin, [email protected]
The coolness is here and we Floridians are thankful for nature’s air conditioner. Our friends are back in
town so let us welcome them back at Sahib. There are many activities this month for your social enjoyment around the temple; there are parades, dances, Motor Corps Spaghetti Dinner to consume, Thanksgiving Grand Buffet and the FEZtival of Trees to name a few.
This has been a challenging year with activity for the nobles, ladies and friends. As for the future of Sahib we know not what it will hold; we must strive to continue our noble cause for the hospitals and keeping Sahib Shriners as solvent as possible. It is imperative to search for income to meet our financial obligations. One such search is continuing with contractual negotiations with Verizon Cellular Service. The Divan and our attorney are involved in this process. A contract agreement is being worked on now, governmental approval must be met and community hearings are part of this process. Not counting the construction of
a cellular pole if approved and agreed on, this is not a short-term process. If an agreement is arranged and permits from the local government agencies are granted this will give us a substantial monthly income for twenty years plus.
We will need additional ideas and activities to help with our solvency. I am sure this will be done as there are nobles that are willing to work as our noble ancestry did. Let us continue as Nobles of the Mystic Shrine with fun and celebration for what we are, Shriners International.
Election of Sahib Officers will take place December 2 at 7:30 p.m. It will be an important meeting as members will elect those to lead and govern Sahib for 2016. Mark your calendars for this meeting or make arrangements with a noble brother to attend this meeting. Remember the child within and I will see you around Sahib.
Where has this year gone? It seems that only yesterday we began Potentate Connie’s administration
and here it is three-quarters over. November is a busy month for all but particularly for your FEZtival of Trees Committee. We have worked long and hard to make our FEZtival bigger and better than 2014 and I think we have succeeded. The only way we will know is when we open the doors on November 27 and watch the faces of the kids (young and old) as they enter a wonderland of trees and crafts.
You can be a part of this great time by volunteering to help. We have plenty of jobs and we know you will have a great time meeting all of the folks and kids who visit us. Email me, Scrib, to volunteer at [email protected].
You have seen our “Giving Tree” in Sahib’s Lobby. You can help by sponsoring items from the tree to help
us defray our costs. You can also help by bringing your family and friends to enjoy a special Holiday treat. Please remember, without your support, we cannot do our jobs so please help your temple.
We had a great Ceremonial, a couple of snafus but not of our making. Lots of smiling new Shriners and ladies and opportunities for our units to gain new members. Reach out, do not let them feel unwanted, give them a call.
Finally, Sandy and I are inviting you to join us in an early fall 2016 Cruise to New England and Canada, a beautiful September trip with lobsters and great ports of call. Please join us on November 4 at 7:00 p.m. at Sahib Shriners for an introduction to our cruise with our trip Directors Jeff and Diane Pick. Thanks for your friendship and support.
Assistant Rabban’s notesby Bill Balkwill, [email protected]
Well, that was a hot summer; I hope this fall will cool us off. Fall is my favorite time of the year; the
leaves change color, a little cool air in the mornings, hot cider and football. There is nothing like college football.
Congratulations to Roadrunner Noble Jim Pinson as “Shriner of the Month.” Keep on driving those patients to the hospital. I believe he now has over 600-plus runs. Give him a pat on the back. You know those old mailmen just like to drive.
We are getting ready to start a new project thanks to a young man named Ben Berg. Ben is working on his Eagle project with Troop 103. He is a senior at Sarasota Military Academy and approached me at the beginning
of the year for a project. Well, he got it approved through the Boy Scout office and started October 3. His project is building a brick walkway from the east front of Sahib Shriners out and around the Walking Tall Statute. We will be selling the individual bricks as a fundraiser, so look for the ad in The Reporter that states “Sahib Brick Paver Project.” You will have an opportunity to place your name or someone else’s name, your unit or club on the brick to be at Sahib Shriners forever. Oh, by the way, our Eagle Scout Ben acquired all the material, labor and plans for free! The project will take about three Saturdays to be completed. Remember, support the Shrine and keep a child in your heart.

We welcome our two new members, Paul Zeissler and Michael Wood. We continue to grow with our
men and ladies. We do not have bulk mail any more, so paper copy of the monthly news is “gone with the wind.” We will be emailing in the 21st Century. There also will be important reminders in The Reporter.
November‘s entree is fruited stuffed pork loin with apricot glaze, parslied red potatoes and vegetable or southwestern chicken salad. Cookies will be dessert. December’s choice is chicken calvados (with mushrooms and apples in apple brandy), potatoes and vegetable or harvest salad with grilled chicken, grapes, nuts and apple with raspberry vinaigrette dressing. Dessert is a brownie sundae. Send your reservation and food choice to Tom Willeman, (941) 544-0926 or email at [email protected] through December and then our new Vice President in 2016 will take over for January.
The Nominating Committee is Tom Willeman, Jim Fletcher and Jim Smith. We do need officers and directors to volunteer for just one hour each month for nine months to make the Manatee Shrine Club’s Board function properly. If we do not receive enough
volunteers to fill all of the positions, we will propose to reduce the board to one Vice President instead of three and one director instead of three plus the Secretary and Treasurer at our November meeting.
Fewer officers are needed since we do not have the ballpark anymore and do not need to have Vice Presidents as supervisors in each booth. This is a mailed notice that this motion will be proposed to our board at the October meeting, brought before the general meeting in November and voted on in December, which is required, to change our By-Laws. Consider volunteering and talk to me personally or any officer.
Thanks for giving your support to the Sahib Shriners Circus. If you are working at the UTC Mall kiosk, we suggest you come in at the Macy’s entrance.
A special reminder: the first Friday in January 2016 is the 1st so we will be changing our meeting to the second Friday, January 8. This will not interfere with LOSNA ladies due to change of date of their meeting for the Grand High Priestess’ visit. I am looking forward to seeing you at the meetings. Come join us.

Motor Corps Shrine Clubby Giles Light (G-man), Secretary, [email protected]
Looks like my creative writing skills are going to take a hit. Got to stay within The Reporter
guidelines for the foreseeable future. So, the G-man gets to the point - now!
The Motor Corps has several new members. We welcome Darren Bracken, Mark DeStefano, John Machanska and Rich Robbins. Glad to have them onboard. The Motor Corps participated in the Sahib Shrine Ceremonial Parade on September 19. Kudos to Bob Rodd for the great photos which appeared in the Sahib Webletter.
Several Motor Corps members rode to the Tampa Hospital on Saturday, October 3 to help celebrate the hospital’s 30th anniversary. Thanks to those who participated. Our annual fall “ride to the mountains” trip to Murphy, North Carolina took place from October 8 - 11 this year. This is a great time of the year to ride a motorcycle as the chances of rain are less and the beautiful fall colors of the trees make for great rides.
Motor Corps members brought their Harley Davidson motorcycles for a static display at the Sahib Shrine Circus performance for school kids on Friday, October 23. We enjoy this event every year and so do the kids as evidenced by a lot of high-fives to our members. The fall Motor Corps Spaghetti Dinner is
Sunday, November 15. We hope to see a lot of our fellow Shriners, families and friends on the 15th between 3:30 - 6:30 p.m. It is all the spaghetti you can eat, our famous salad, Italian dinner rolls and wine. All this for only $10 in advance, $11 at the door. Children 12 and under eat free!
Unfortunately, we were unable to participate in the Sun Fiesta parade in Venice this year due to a number of conflicts. Nevertheless, we expect to participate in the Holiday parades in Venice and Sarasota and the Poinsettia Parade in North Port.
We are happy to report that the Motor Corps will have a Christmas tree in the FEZtival of Trees later this month. You should have no problem spotting it because of the little motorcycle ornaments on it. We sure would appreciate your votes for our tree. We have a few birthdays and an anniversary to report in November. Birthdays this month are: Lady Andrea (Piper) Hart on the 18th, Temp Hamilton (Snoozy) on the 20th and Lady Connie Lacey (Cooter) on the 27th. We have one anniversary in November which is Barry Hart (Policyman) and Barbara (B-ball) on November 15. Well, I made it within the word limit. Whew. Until next month.
We can’t grow, if they don’t know!

SHRINE UNIT NEWS
It was a pleasure for the Clowns to participate at the 30th Anniversary of the Shriners Hospital for
Children in Tampa on October 3. What a pleasure for the Clowns to interact with all the children and to see their smiling faces despite their medical problems. Of course, it was very interesting to listen to the staff and our Shrine leaders tell of the past and then the future plans for the hospital and their ability to service our Shrine children. The Clowns were very happy to participate in this year’s new project/program of selling Circus tickets at the new University Town Center. We were able to make some new friends for the Shrine and its hospital program and getting children and adults interested in attending the Sahib Shrine Circus. Participating Clowns were Harold “Ding-a-Ling” Bell, Butch “Sparky” Power and boss Clown Rick “Sliver” Taylor. Circus days have come and gone. The Clowns hoped that you enjoyed our two skits in the Shrine Circus. By the way, we are looking for someone new to shoot
out of the cannon since “Casey” told us that his flying days are over since this is the third straight time that he missed the net. Did you notice how worthless that “Joe the Barber” (Boogie) was at guarding our safe? Of course, “Sparky” is still smiling at his expertise of providing the big booms. What booms will he come up with for next year’s Circus? By the way, I did notice the many big big eyes as many of you noticed our lady clowns participating with us. They were a big help and a pleasure to have them on our team. Yes, I know it is November. All of the Clowns are looking forward to the continuance of the parade season. We had fun at the Venice Sun Fiesta and look forward to the Christmas Parades starting Saturday, November 28 in Venice. Oh yes, our calliope will be playing the Christmas music. Until we meet again, we should always remember our children in the Shriners Hospitals. Until we meet again, do not break a leg.

Boy, what a great Circus we just had. Thanks to all who worked so hard to make it a great success.
We are looking forward to providing the music, as we proudly salute our Veterans on Friday, November 20. We owe so much to those that have served and the men and women who are now actively serving our country. Again this year, we have been asked to help open our FEZtival of Trees program at 9:00 a.m. Friday, November 27. It is an honor for us to participate. How time flies! We are talking Christmas already.
We have been rehearsing some new arrangements for next month’s Christmas Concert at the Nobles and Ladies Luncheon, Thursday, December 10. Noble, if your lady is unable to attend, we still look forward to you being with us at this special Holiday Thursday Luncheon and Concert. This Thanksgiving Day, please pause to give thanks for all your blessings. Even though sickness and difficult times, we are still blessed. May God be with you.

Marinersby Lacey Cross, Commodore, [email protected]
Greetings from the Mariners. November will be a very busy month here at Sahib. Please put the
many events on your calendar and support all of these fine activities. We had a good turnout for our weekend in Punta Gorda, including two superb dinners on Friday and Saturday nights. The hospitality room was filled with delicious snacks, brought by our mates. Ladies, you did a great job.
Saturday, November 14, will be the Past Commodores’ Picnic at Lakewood Ranch Park, on Lakewood Ranch Boulevard. The fun begins at 11:00 a.m. This is always a special event.
Mariners, please take note: our November meeting will have to be the third Wednesday, November 18, with dinner beginning at 5:30 p.m. followed by the
Bridge at 6:30 p.m. and our meeting at 7:00 p.m. This important meeting will include nominations and election of Bridge Officers.
Our Christmas Party is scheduled for Wednesday, December 9, at Marina Jack’s. Cocktails at 6:00 p.m. followed by dinner at 7:00 p.m. Call MaryLou at the box office for your tickets. Cash or checks only.
I want to thank all those that attended the Commodore’s Ball. A special “thank you” goes out to Bud Glidden, Cub Dickerson and Frank Matheny for their efforts in making it a very successful evening.
This fall, we welcome two new members, Carroll Scribner and Alan Hochroth. Any Shriner is welcome to join our Mariners Unit. Please call me at (941) 377-9491.

So…read on--- ***The Sahib LOH Regular Meeting for December 2015 and the Election of 2016 Officers (or) vote on taking Sahib LOH forever dark will take place at 12:00 p.m. high noon, December 9 in the downstairs far back Sahib Sahara Room. This will be a working lunch and formal LOH Meeting (combined) for December 2015 and…either the last LOH Meeting for 2015 with 2016 Election of Officers
or the last LOH Meeting forever. The Nominating Committee will recommend and name their 2016 LOH Officer this date and elections will be held this date or the Investigating Committee will announce there is no future for the Sahib LOH and it is time to take Sahib LOH dark. A vote will then be taken. Accordingly (for the Commander): The LOH Membership is hereby given at least thirty (30) days in writing and with advance warning that a final vote will be taken December 9, 2015 at 12:00 high noon at Sahib Shriners as to the future of the Sahib LOH Unit. Bottom line here nobles...we either elect a 2016 LOH Officers Line and continue on with LOH business in 2016 or go dark forever. This should make all LOH nobles happy in that it is day time; you can have lunch and wash it down with your option, plus support your LOH and make final decisions one way or the other way. Note that we can all eat together and mostly at the same time. Your lunch order should be placed prior to 12:00 noon.

I am honored to accept the appointment of the vacated position of High Priest and Prophet. Summer is over
and fall is here? With the summer heat still here, you would not know it. Guess it could be much worse. It is already snowing in some parts of our country. The end of September was our 2015 Fall Ceremonial. What a great class. Thirty-three new nobles. We tip our hats to the recruiters. Membership is and should be a priority. Great job recruiters. October came in like a tornado. These are the events that took place: the monthly King Pin Pancake Breakfast, the Sahib Shriners Corvette Party, the Sahib Shriners Circus, the Commodore’s Ball and the Unit Picnic.
Looks like there is not going to be much rest for this month. So put on your fastest running shoes because here we go. Again, the first Sunday of the month is Pancake Breakfast. Every Thursday is Hillbilly Dinner. November 15 is our Motor Corps Spaghetti Dinner. The 24th through the 29th is the FEZtival of Trees. On November 26 come out for our Thanksgiving Day Grand Buffet. The Venice Holiday Parade will finish the month. Come join in on the fun. Support our units, clubs and temple. Until next month, be kind to one another.
New Procedure for Divan’s Birthday WishNobles your birthday will now be listed in the Reporter. The Divan will provide you a birthday well drink or beer in the lounge any time during your birth month or within 10 days from the end of your birth month. Scottish Riteby Casey A. Fletcher, KCCH, [email protected]
The world seems to be getting smaller. Economic systems intermingle. Cultures, traditions and
worldviews overlap and interact. When cultural exchanges or collisions occur, societies respond in different ways. Professor Grant Hardy of the University of North Carolina identifies four: First, societies assert the superiority of their own system; these he calls traditionalists. Second, a society selectively accepts the customs of another, he calls these adopters. Third, a society may endeavor to change the other society and these are aptly called proselytizers. Finally, some societies completely succumb to new ideas. Professor Hardy does not give this group a specific name, but perhaps adapter fits. As our Nation settled and grew, all four approaches might be observed in different places, at different times and by different groups. During the 1800s and early 1900s in the Far East, cultures, traditions, religions and political systems were in conflict and competition. India was the ward of Great Britain giving rise to conflicts between eastern and western political and economic systems. Several religions, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism competed (and still seem to). Muhammad Iqbal (1873-1938) was a statesmen and philosopher in what is now Pakistan. He studied both eastern and western intellectual thought intently. He was influenced by Kant, Hegel and Nietzsche, and studied the teaching of the Buddha, Zoroaster, Jesus and Sufi mystics. Two of his prominent works were The Reconstruction of Religious Thought in Islam and The Development of Metaphysics in Persia. Professor Hardy classifies Iqbal as a “selective
adopter.” A Muslim, Iqbal was open to western values. He found western notions of tolerance admirable. He was open to the modernity the western culture offered - its science and its deference to reason. Yet he steadfastly maintained that religion was a crucial element of life and necessary for the realization of one’s full humanity. He considered religion to be more than a private matter. In our Masonic life journey we may well reflect upon the appropriate manner for us to approach and respond to worldviews, traditions, religions and cultures much different than our own. Should we be traditionalists, adopters, proselytizers or adaptors in every situation? Some combination of each? A different approach for different situations? The Fraternity offers no answer. It does call upon us to use both reason and humility to decide. Tolerance and open-mindedness are inculcated. Freemasonry also recommends religious devotion. It teaches us that while we can (and perhaps should) have strong and solid beliefs, we should at the same time subdue our passions. The Scottish Rite’s degrees will next be conferred on April 9 and 16. Petitions are available at http://tampascottishrite.org. The Valley of Tampa regularly meets at its Center in Tampa on the 2nd Monday of each month at 7:30 p.m., preceded by a 5:45 p.m. dinner. At our meeting on November 9, Brother Scott McAlister, 32nd degree KCCH, will present a program on Pythagoras. Casey Fletcher is Past Master of Tuscan Lodge No. 6 in Bartow, Florida. Reflecting upon religions, customs, political views and traditions different than his own sometimes gives him a headache.

Sar-I Court No. 79 - LOSNAby Mary Nell Fletcher, High Priestess, [email protected]
Nyla Temple No. 152by Katherine A. Rodd, Queen, [email protected]
Wow, this year is coming to a close too fast. I had the pleasure of attending the 30th Anniversary
of the Shriners Hospital for Children in Tampa. There was a great turnout for the celebration and a wonderful opportunity to meet staff, patients, former patients and their families. Did not get to attend? You missed a great celebration. We celebrated Founders Day with a delicious luncheon provided by some of our officers. During session, a presentation was given, as to the history of Daughters of the Nile and our founders. It was so colorful to see the various colored uniforms of the Past Queens of our temple and to hear a little about their year as Queens.
This month of November began with attending the
DeMolay Installation of the new corps of officers and included was the reaching of majority age for one of the members. It was nice to witness both ceremonies. The boys were so appreciative of the support from the adults representing the various Masonic Organizations.
This year we will be decorating a tree to be included in Sahib’s FEZtival of Trees that is being held November 27, 28, and 29. Our ladies worked really hard on the decorations for this tree. Hope you all will come and enjoy this great festivity and support the Shrine at the same time. The month will be ending with Thanksgiving. Let us be thankful for all that we have. Happy Thanksgiving.
It was great to see all of Sahib’s new candidates during Sahib’s Ceremonial and meet their ladies
at the Meet and Greet and Ladies’ Luncheon. October was a busy month for us starting with the 30th Anniversary Celebration of Shriners Hospital for Children in Tampa. It was a great day and our ladies enjoyed the impressive tour and lunch.
Sar-I had a Ceremonial bringing in five new ladies and we also will be having another one in January during our Grand High Priestess’s visit, as we have received several additional petitions and are hoping for more. We are excited to welcome our new “Beacons of Light” and look forward to having a tea this month to meet ladies interested in becoming members or learning more about Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America and what we do. Our main philanthropy is Shriners Hospitals for Children. We raise monies for them, paint and sew quilts, make clothes and pajamas, and every year work on a special project picked by the Grand High Priestess such as purchasing special
equipment needed for one of the hospitals. We have fun fundraisers, outings and socials such as the Mystery Night on Halloween (which was a Murder Mystery Who Dun It) for the special project. Everyone played a part and the murder took place in the “Roaring Twenties” (flappers, mobsters and all).
We also have fun in our six units: Oriental Dancers, Klassy Kickers, Patrol, Merry Makers, Songbirds and Greeters. These units perform at Ceremonials, Unit Meets, Grand Council and special meetings and events. There is something for everyone; wonderful fellowship and friendships that will last a lifetime.
This month we have craft tables and a tree at the FEZtival of Trees and a float in the Venice Holiday Parade. Come join us and find out how much fun it is to help the children and serve the community. If you have an interest or questions call me, Mary Fletcher, at (941) 807-4011 or email me at [email protected] or talk to one of our ladies.
beashrinernow.combeashrinernow.com continues to attract quality candidates. To date, more than 1,200 men have inquired about Freemasonry or becoming a Shriner. While the numbers of those interested are impressive, we really need more mentors to ensure candidates receive the attention they need and deserve. Consider joining the more than 1,150 Shriners who are already virtual mentors.
As a virtual mentor, you will be paired with a candidate in your area who has similar interests. Communicating by phone, email or in person, you will have the opportunity to share your knowledge and enthusiasm about Masonry and about being a Shriner. You will answer questions or concerns, help find the Lodge best suited to the candidate’s interests, and help him with his journey to become a Shriner. You will also have the opportunity to make a new friend.

Pull Tabs for Shriners HospitalsThe Ladies of Sar-I Court started in 1992 collecting and donating aluminum pull-tabs to the “Wheel Chair Repair Fund.” As of March 31, 2015, they have collected 104,007 lbs., for a total of $54,753.66 for the Shriners Hospital for Children in Tampa.

Help us collect TABS! It’s easy and it’s fun!Put out a milk jug at every picnic or party!
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) on PULL TABS
1. Why not collect the whole can? Collecting complete cans would require a great deal more storage space. You should go ahead and recycle the rest of the can in the normal way, in the dumpster behind Sahib.
2. How many tabs in a pound? 1,267.3. How many tabs will a gallon milk jug hold? About 5 pounds
worth.4. How does it work and where does the money go? The tabs are
delivered to the Sahib office (or almost any Sahib club/unit loca-tion) and then taken to the recycling center. The money netted from recycling goes directly into the “Wheel Chair Repair Fund” at the Tampa Shriners Hospital for Children.
