1. What does it mean Markup?

Markup is amount added by an agent to cover overhead and provide profit

2. What purpose Markup calculator designed for?

Markup calculator is designed to calculate the difference between the cost price and the selling price, computed as percentage of either the selling price

3. Why agents need to use Markup calculator? A rates provided by Red Apple Travel to an agents/operators that is absolute minimum, The prices in the e‐booking online system, located on www.redappletravel.com are NETT.

This is instrument for calculation a profit

►Quick Start SETUP

1. Unpack Red Apple Travel Pen Drive from the box

2. Attach your Pen Drive to your PC

Press the Pen Drive from on the middle of the right side to release USB connector

From now browse Red Apple Pen Drive catalogue,

Then open the folder Mark_up_calculator:

After opening Mark_up_Calculator folder please, click on the setup.exe,

then you’ll see application Setup Wizard window (Figure 8)

Follow to the logic of the installation wizard:

Assign destination folder. The default folder ‘Red Apple Travel’

The setup wizard will install software to default or specified folder

Just click next button to confirm setup to default folder destination

5. Practice. Markup and Sales Price calculation examples

This section does show each Markup and Sales Price calculation in examples. Before do calculations please make sure, that you have right entries for each display. The displays (fields) use numbers and decimal ‘.’ point only. The Markup calculator allows you to preform with floating numbers, allow entries with for numbers after decimal point. For example, see the right way of entries:

Note *: Markup numbers are not limited, but if calculated / entry Markup more, than 100%, software will return you warning message (Figure 15. A):

Sales price calculation Practical steps

① Make sure that Radio button set to the Sales Price position (default on start)

② Type Nett price, make sure, that Nett price is not zero (see Note **)

③ Select Markup ‘Step %’ with step 0.5% from drop down list box or type desired

Markup into the ‘Mark‐up %’ display.

④ Click on ‘Calculate’ button to get Sales Price result

⑤ Sales Price display will show you calculated result Res

⑥ Statistic display will show you: Calculations counter 1...N

Time of the calculation H/M/S

Nett Price 0.0001

Sales Price 0.0001

Markup 0.0001

Background colour of the Statistic display is white for Sales Price position

To save statistic data, start application notepad.exe, copy statistic text from

the text box and paste into notepad text box

N Click on ‘Clear’ button to reset displays to zeros and start new calculation

③ Type Sales Price, enter value higher, than Nett price (see Note ***)

④ Click on ‘Calculate’ button to get Mark‐up result

⑤ Mark‐up % display will show you calculated result R
