Driving Value throughout the business: Talk thru the slide:��When looking at the value that we help our customers drive from their data we tend to map it with Intelligence (X-Axis) or the level of intelligence they can drive and the Value that they can drive (from the Y-Axis) Data - At the very least we need to have access to data. The Birst technology allows us to bring together data from multiple sources, regardless of how it is hosted Cloud or on-premise. If VALUE STATEMENT – SCHNEIDER: Bring together over 200 ERP sources and were able to drive 5% savings on purchases – THIS AMOUNTS TO $500M Standard Reports – The first step most organisations go thru is the production of Standard Reports. These could be report packs that basically answer the key business questions that the business has always required. The Birst technology enables users to easily put together their own sets of standard reports, which can be shared amongst users and across departments. This s one of the key differences with Infor BI, in that end-users will be able to create their own reports without having to learn a complicated BI tool. VALUE STATEMENT – CITRIX: Bring together over 400+ data sources (internal & external) to drive reporting which helped them achieve a 99% on-time delivery, move from 5X increase in inventory turns to 12X whilst only having 1 Admin against 2000 end-users. KPIs & Dashboards – This is when we help organisations start to manage the business on an exception basis. Don’t send me a regular report, only send it to me when something has happened within the business to drive my attention. VALUE STATEMENT –RECKITT BENCKISER: A rapid deployment across 78 countries which saw them replace SAP/BOBJ as it was too heavy and slow. Delivering 1000’s of KPIs and dashboards enabling them to achieve: >$100M revenue Increase, a 5X acceleration in BI processes at a lower TCO. EXISTING CUSTOMER: As you can see, I have drawn a dotted line at this point. What is being delivered here with Birst could be achieved by Infor BI, however with Birst it is more end-user focussed. End users are able to produce standard report packs as opposed to end users having to be delivered standard report packs from power users. THIS IS ONE OF THE KEY DIFFERENCES. NET NEW CUSTOMER: If we look at the questions we can help organisations answer , it is very much rear-view mirror. I can’t do anything about that – what I really want to start doing is looking forward at what is going to happen in the future. Moving above the line – IS WHERE BIRST COMES INTO ITS OWN AND CAN HELP OUR CUSTOMERS DRIVE ADDITIONAL VALUE FROM THEIR DATA ASSETS WITH A MUCH LOWER TCO. Blending & Discovery – The Birst solution allows end-users to bring in their own additional data assets. These are typically data sets that are not owned by IT. So, in a CloudSuite world, these would be non-CloudSuite data assets. The value of doing this, is that end-users are now able to conduct data discovery exercises over multiple data sources. Typically, in a BI world, end-users would have to rely upon IT to do this. Descriptive Analytics – Starting to incorporate pre-defined statistical techniques to help answer more descriptive questions, where I am looking at patterns in data to uncover commonalities and outliers: What are the key attributes of my most profitable customers/products – how can I market better to my most profitable customers? How do I turn my less profitable customers into profitable customers? Which expense claims are fraudulent? CrossMark – Needed to understand relationships between different data assets. Using Birst meant analysts focused more on ad-hoc discovery as opposed to manipulating data. This is where I can start incorporating techniques such as Descriptive and Predictive Analytics: Predictive Analytics – Using techniques to drive questions about the future What is demand going to be like moving forwards – can I incorporate statistical forecasting techniques to predict demand and thereafter drive my supply chain? Who is likely to respond to a marketing campaign? Can I utilise techniques such as decision trees and regression to predict which customers are likely to respond to a marketing campaign? Which customers are likely to default on a loan? Use historic data to score customers for likelihood to default on a loan. Prescriptive Analytics – Enabling organisations to start understanding what actions to take moving forwards If we look at the questions we can help organisations answer , it is very much rear-view mirror. I can’t do anything about that – what I really want to start doing is looking forward at what is going to happen in the future. So we can see – as organisations get more BI savvy or BI competent – the Infor solution can grow with them. This is a solution that helps organisations answer the more complex question as their users pose them. Whilst I have drawn this chart on a scaled basis, it does not mean that you have to go step-by-step. Some of our customers are working with us today to simply do the Predictive stuff.
