Introduction to Bandit Theater

How Bandit Came to Be: Bandit was founded in 2018 by Annie Barry. Annie spent her early years performing and teaching in New York City, New Orleans, and Washington D.C. While in D.C. a dream sparked to start a female, queer-run, welcoming and safe comedy theater. Annie was driven to create a space where all people are encouraged to be their authentic selves and speak from the seed of their truth. She moved to Seattle and immediately met incredibly talented, like-minded individuals who shared the vision, and Bandit was born.

Bandit’s Educational ProgramBandit Theater is a non-profit comedy theater that provides space for performers of all ages to find their comedic voice, play in supportive and safe community spaces, and to have access to quality programming and education without financial barriers.

Bandit Jams + MixersBandit cares about its community. We seek to empower our and students and staff, and we welcome collaboration with new artists. In addition to our shows, we gather to stretch our creative and social muscles. This creates incredibly confident performers and supportive team dynamics. Below are some of the events we host.

Performance

During LockdownBeginning in March 2020, As other theaters were closing their doors, Bandit seamlessly transitioned the entire theater completely online, making it the only improv comedy theater in the state of Washington to remain active with casts and shows in tact.

Mainstage teams met virtually and adapted to audio improvisation. Bandit’s community stayed engaged and connected, performing over 50 shows, over 80 jams, and 10 workshops and classes.

Celebrate With UsBandit’s Prom will celebrate 4 years of

Bandit Theater in Seattle. It’s our Senior Year and we want to celebrate with you!

Bandit is committed to safety. We ask that all guests be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The space capacity is 735 and Bandit will only sell 200 tickets to the event. Windows will be open to ensure airflow. Temperatures will be taken at the door. Masks are encouraged.
