SCOPE OF APPLICATION

The document numbering system is used for all the engineering & general documents that are issued during design and project execution phases.

TERMINOLOGY, DEFINITIONS, ABBREVIATIONS

Each document concerned is assigned an identification code composed as follows.

Document Type Code

The document type code is further clarification of system i.e. for documents type/purpose, so that the type or purpose for generating of code the document can be identified. The document code shall contain two letter slots, comprising of following relevant codes according to their need/purpose.

PLPlanning DocumentAll Planning and progress follow up documents are identified by this document code. They include:- project planning design procurement civil works- erection commissioning.

NANote of applicabilityA note of applicability is a document used to condition, complete, or modifies a technical standard document to make it applicable to the specific requirement of a particular project.

PPProject ProcedureMandatory procedures issued to Vendors, Consultant and sub vendors as appropriate, by the project manager or the Project Engineering Manager, detailing responsibilities, requirements and routines to be followed to assist in administration of the project.

CVContract DeviationA document which is issued for any change request of the contract. It is accompanied in appendix by a corrected copy of the relevant pages and if need be, by engineering report justifying the change request.

RPProject Progress ReportThis document is used on a project and identifies project specific progress reports such as- weekly report- monthly report- weekly report.

DODesign ConceptA document explaining the concept philosophy used as basis for further detail engineering.

EREngineering ReportA document used as the means of communicating the results of engineering studies. These may be detail studies of a particular aspect or more general.

BEBasic StudyA document aim of which is to study in depth a specific technical subject and to analyse the various possible solution and other alternatives.

DFBasic Input Data sheetA document which records all important input data frozen to create a basic or conceptual design document.

MIMechanical Interfaces ListA document which defines the characteristics at interface points indentified on the piping and instrumentation diagrams.

ITTechnical Interface ListA document which defines the requirements for transfer of design information between Vendors, Sub Vendors and Consultant.

2. Elementary System Documents

PFProcess Flow DiagramA drawing containing an operation principle diagram issued to an elementary system or a multiple function system. It shows the main equipment and indicates physical values( pressure, temperature, flow, specific mass) either on piping lines or in tables. Secondary equipments and valves also be shown and other physical values may be indicated for various operating cases.

FDPiping and Instrument DiagramA detailed Engineering representation of a system showing in diagrammatic form all pipe work, ductwork, mechanical equipment, valves, controls and instrumentation. It defines all functional codes of all equipments

DMSystem DescriptionA document is drawn up for each elementary system or group of systems .It sets down the design basis, description of how it works and describes the instrumentation and control loops.

OLLists of Controls Available to the OperatorA document which defines the controls available to the operator in the centralized control room.

LOLogic/Analogue Diagram A document which defines the requirements for control of the process and serve the following purpose. Input document for the control system engineering Base document for the commissioning engineer , containing all functional requirements from process engineering Support for training for a rather detailed functional understanding of process control.

ELElectrical Load ListA list drawn up for each project, summing up all the electrical auxiliaries in the power plant. For each auxiliary its main data such as power, speed, efficiency and power factor. This is produce as a design input to electrical systems designers from mechanical systems and plant designers.

LEEquipment ListA listing of all major items of plant and equipment in the scope of supply drawn on a per system basis. The lists of equipment for particular sub suppliers and system build up into the power plant part list which is a complete listing of all major components of the power plant.

LPPipe Line ListA list prepared for each system itemizing every line shown on the P&ID with the associated pipe class and other design characteristics.

LAPiping Specialties ListA list identifying piping auxiliaries such as drain traps, strainers, expansion joints, nozzles and orifices, flow limiting orifices etc. together with their size and other relevant data.

LVValve ListA list identifying the valves on a system together with their type, identification, operating medium, size and other relevant data.

LIList of InstrumentsA document which defines the instruments to be purchased.

LMList of input/output SignalsA list prepared for each system that includes instruments, signals type, settings, etc.

IOInput/output signals listA document identifying the required analogue and digital input and output signals at the interface with DCS. Used for sizing of DCS hardware.

SLSet Point ListA document that defines setting and process data included in the logic /analogue diagrams

CLCleaning ProcedureA document that defines procedures/ processes for cleaning of piping or equipment(blow out, flushing, acid cleaning etc)

HDInstrument hook-up drawingAn arrangement drawing that provides the basic arrangement and material take of for instrumentation installation.

COConsumer DataA document /list that provides the description of the consumed media: lubrication, chemical.

WEWaste + EmissionsA document which lists waste and emission products : waste water, solid waste, chemical waste etc.

3. Calculation Document

CAMain calculationThe calculation sheet produced specifically for submission to external bodies written in contractual language containing all the data that the external body might wish to know as the basic criteria considered and methods and results.

DCDetail CalculationDetail calculation for all equipment , system, piping and civil work etc.

PGUnit Performance Guarantee Verification procedureA document which includes the contractual performance guarantees, as well as all practical information necessary for test execution ( tolerances, conditions of guarantee, correction curves, standard references)

GRUnit Performance Guarantee Test ReportA document which delivers all relevant information on execution of the performance test as well as guarantee verification result.

4. Electrical Documents

SDSingle Line Electrical DiagramA schematic diagram which defines basic electrical system process and functional arrangements

CDElectrical Circuit DiagramA diagram showing in full the functioning of a circuit depicting all its essential parts and connections by means of symbols arranged to show the operation as clearly as possible.

WDWiring DiagramA diagram showing in detail connections between components or items of equipment or system and in some cases, the routing of these connections. Can be in graphical or in tabular form.

TCTermination ChartThe diagram represents under its graphical or list form, the electrical connections o of cables on equipments terminals.

TDTypical DiagramA typical electrical or logic diagram repeated several times with in the project( e.g. motor contactor circuit diagram).

LCList of CablesA list of cables indicating for each of them, its functional identification, characteristics.

CIConduit DrawingA drawing that shows the conduit layout.

CRCable RoutingA document that describes cable routing .

5. Instrumentation and Control Documents

ADAnalogue DiagramA block diagram representing the required modulating control loops, analogue signal conditioning and indication for a particular equipment or system.

LDLogic DiagramA block diagram representing the required sequence initiation and logic for each operational sequence for a particular equipment or system to be implemented in the distributed control system.

PDSoftware Programming DocumentA document giving the programming codes of a controller, a computer, etc.

6. Product Documents

GSGeneral Technical SpecificationA document which defines, in accordance with the contract, the technical requirements , codes and standard to be taken into account by all manufacturers for the standard equipment regularly supplied by them: electric motors,piping,supports,valves,actuators,local instrumentation and control equipment, heat insulation, painting etc.

ESEquipment SpecificationA technical specification for an item or items of plant or equipments or package system. It specifies the equipment and services to be supplied, quality requirements, limit of supply, basic data, design requirements, guarantees, documents and data to be exchanged.

ATTechnical AddendumA document defining modifications to a technical specification for which the order is already signed.

TATender AnalysisA document which contains the technical analysis of the bids received from the suppliers and the feedback experience with these suppliers.

LSList of Spare PartsA listing or schedule of the spare parts required. The listing may be subdivide into separate lists showing in example: Erection and commissioning spares Recommended spares. Mandatory spares.

DSData SheetA technical specification sheet which defines equipment technical data. The forms have to be filled in by the supplier using the standard form.

MDManufacturer DocumentThese are manufacturers produced documents which due to their content, cannot be classified on any existing code or which contains information classified on more than one document type (e.g. an actuator drawing which contains both a detail arrangement and a wiring diagram.

EAEquipment Arrangement DrawingA drawing showing the overall arrangement of an equipment assembly or of a particular item of equipment. The arrangement drawings would show locations and details of terminal points with the other equipment and the civil structures.

DDEquipment Detail DrawingA drawing showing the detail arrangement of equipment or of a particular item of equipment. The detail drawing can include, with their component identification: Exploded views Component drawings Sectional Views

MMManufacturing Maintenance ManualA manual produced for each equipment which contains the description and operation and maintenance instruction. The maintenance manual drawn up by the manufacturer

EMEnd of Manufacturing ReportA file drawn up with the quality control plan requirements for the items of equipments to demonstrate compliance with specified requirements. The end of manufacturing list is progressively compiled by the supplier during manufacture.

ICCustomer Shop Inspection and Test ProgrammeA document prepared by every vendor or sub vendor which defines the inspection intervention points for major items of the plant. The activities to be attended by the customer and the documents to be provided to the customer are also detailed.

QCQuality Control PlanA document setting out to the supplier the sequence of quality related activities relevant to the manufacture of the particular product including: list of manufacturing inspections and test imposed on the supplier, rules codes & standard applicable to the manufacturing and inspection operation.

MPManufacturer Inspection and Test PlanA document produced by the supplier which contains the necessary information to enable fabrication, inspection and test at factory to be carried out. It states the inspection sequences and for each: The specifications, procedures or standards applied (including weld and NDT procedure). The type of intervention (witness point, hold point) of the different control authorities. The documents necessary to compile the end of manufacturing report the inspection and test plan contains, as a minimum, the requirements of the quality control plan (QC).

QPQuality Control ProcedureA document written by the supplier which defines the procedures and controls to be applied during the execution of activities which affects or confirm product quality. Examples of such documents are welding and special process procedures, non destructives test procedures etc. where the document defines activities to confirm product quality, the acceptance criteria must be selected.

IRInspection ReportA report with records of an inspection.

MCManufacturing Conformance SheetThis sheet is generated by quality monitoring for equipment to be taken over. It is written on a standard form and signed by the supplier, vendor or his representative. It particularly allows the shipment of the equipment and payment thereof in the case where the conformance file is not yet complete.

SRShipment Release CertificateThis sheet is generated by quality monitoring. It initiates the equipment shipment formalities. It is written upon a standard form and signed by the purchaser inspector, once: The manufacturing conformance sheet has been issued. The equipment conditioning and packaging has been checked. The packing identification and conformance has been checked.

NCManufacturing Non Conformance ReportA document which records a deficiency in characteristic, documentation or process implementation which renders the quality of product or system indeterminate or outside that required by the specification and indicates any corrective action required.

BRBid RequestA document issued by engineering to commercial to float enquiries out to suppliers.

BQBill of QuantityA document that provides a list of material to be purchased or enquired, usually attached to an equipment specification.

BMBill of Material A document that describes the bill of material.

POPurchase OrderPurchase order sent to the supplier.

PKPacking listA document that provides the packing information of equipment.

MALoose component listA document that provides the list of loose components delivered by the supplier.

OROrder requestA document that gives instruction to the commercial to order a piece of equipment.

7. System/Equipment Arrangement Documents

GAGeneral Arrangement DrawingA coordinated scale drawing showing all the plant, equipment and structures located in a particular area. The drawing is used for layout only and should not be used for arrangements drawings of a particular piece of equipment9see equipment arrangement drawing EA). This drawing defines as necessary: Reference point of the building Dimensioned layout and type of buildings, works and premises. Main access ways with cut outs. Areas necessary for dismantling of equipment Areas necessary for lay down of main parts. Handling equipment. Main equipment handling operation. Routing of main piping Routing of coaxial bus bars/bus duct. Guide routing for the ventilation/air conditioning ducts Main cable concept. Overall loads of the equipment and loads on floor, namely: Permanent static loads. Loads on floor, taking into account the piping installations. Any permanent punctual loads greater than 3 t, due to piping installations. Hydraulic testing overloads. Equipment erection overloads defined on the item handling drawings. Major dynamic forces, when equipment transmitting these efforts do not rest on a separate basement (e.g. travelling crane, feed water tank). Information regarding seismic calculations. Particular cases of general arrangement are: Site layout Key plans Building arrangement drawings

DAArchitecture DrawingA drawing which defines the external appearance of the structure, used as a support to obtain the permits requested by the local authorities.

CSCable Support Steel Work Arrangement DrawingA document which defines the layout of cable support or ladders, the location of the corresponding supports with their reference in relation with the building structure and the necessary detail for erection. It indicates also the cable trays marking and cable routing.

CGCivil Guide DrawingA drawing produced by the mechanical and electrical designers or supplier to provide their requirements to the civil designers. The drawing show the layout of the plant and provide the requirements for holes, penetrations, foundations and trenches etc. Civil works are shown on these drawings in basic concept only and are subject to verification and detail design by the civil designers.Civil work guide drawing:-A drawing which defines the layout of basements and different works, the layout of trenches for piping, cables, draining system and pits. the building steel structures, doors and windows, ventilation openings and passage apertures. All references to anchoring drawings are indicated on this drawing, together with details of imposed static and dynamic loads( or relevant information to calculate).Foundation Arrangement:-A scale drawing showing the required outline, embedments, pockets, etc for civil works concrete, together with details of imposed static and dynamic loads. This drawing may also define the grouting and cement filling requirement and civil works requirements for particular embedments for plant items.Embedment Schedule:-A list of all items to be embedded or built in to civil concrete structures and foundations to support equipment or steel work identifying each item, its supplier, its physical attributes and its location.Steel Structure Guide Drawing:-A drawing which defines the main steel structures9gantries, floors) and the secondary structures(access-gangways and handrails, supporting structures for the equipments and large piping, steel structure elements not to be erected before the equipment installation shall be mentioned.

ILInstrumentation Location DrawingA drawing which defines: Location of measurement and instrumentation/control taps, separate or grouped on frames. Location of instrument air distribution headers. Identification of equipment to be supplied with instrument air and to be connected to the electric circuits.

LNLoad PlanAn arrangement drawing that provides the loads in one particular area can be used when no GA drawing are available.

HAHazardous Area Arrangement drawingA general arrangement drawing that identifies and locates hazardous areas with indication on their categories.

8. Civil Design Documents

CXCivil Work General DrawingA drawing produced by the civil designer showing the civil designs for the plant The drawings would typically includes: Piling arrangement Excavation arrangement Enabling drawing Civil standard detail Architectural drawings Statutory planning consent drawings Drainage

CECivil Execution DrawingAlso known as formwork and shuttering drawing. A drawing showing the outline of a reinforced concrete structure.

CFCivil Work Finishing DrawingA schedule or drawing defining the finished surfaces for floors, walls, and ceilings by location and quality, plumbing and sanitary fittings and indicative networks to be supplied, etc.

RAReinforcing Bar Arrangement drawingA drawing showing arrangement, configuration and location of reinforcing bars in a reinforced concrete structure.

RBReinforcing Bar Bending ScheduleA schedule listing the reinforcing bar steelwork requirements for a particular concrete structure.

CPCladding and Penetration DrawingA drawing which details the cut- outs to be performed on the site.

SASteel Structure Arrangement DrawingA drawing showing a building, an equipment support or an access steel structural arrangement. Such drawings define all such arrangements together with structure sizes

SWSteel Work Detail DrawingA drawing which defines details for steel structures: main and secondary structures, floors, roofs, wall cladding. Each drawing or set of drawings has a corresponding bill of quantities.

SISoil Investigation ReportA document that provides the soil investigation results and measurement methods.

9. Piping Arrangement Document

PAPiping Arrangement DrawingA drawing which defines, with in the building, the routing of the pipes of diameter greater than 2 with equipment and valves and the location of the corresponding supports with their references with the building structure.

PRLarge Bore Piping Isometric DrawingAn isometric drawing of piping line of diameter greater than 2 in the turbine hall and auxiliary buildings. The material take off accompanies the isometric drawing and indicates the nature, the quantities and the specification of the material required to fabricates.

PSSmall Bore Piping Indicative DrawingA drawing which shows the indicative routes or schematic arrangement of the small bore pipe work which will be detail routed at site as part of the erection process. With each line is an estimative take off.

PTOutdoor Piping Detail Design DrawingA drawing which routes buried piping or piping on racks or in trenches especially for connection between buildings and or outdoor plant. With each line is material take off.

PHPiping Support/Hangers DrawingA drawing is issued for each support or type of standard support. The material take off accompanying the support drawing identifies the material necessary to fabricate/erect the support.

LHList of Supports/HangersA document giving the list of supports for each piping line with their number, displacement, weight and also the quantity and rating of spring boxes when required.

PMPiping Material Management drawingComputerized list, material take- off of piping and support for purchasing and material control.

HTHydro Test Drawing Marked PID with indication of hydro test limits.

10. Erection Documentation

EFErection FileA file summing up all erection requirements and erection documentation per trade activity. The file groups. together the erection documents of the concerned equipment specifications.

EIErection InstructionAn erection procedure produced as required for an equipment item is drawn up by the supplier in compliance with the relevant specification requirement.

EQErection Quality Control PlanA document setting out the sequence of quality related activities relevant to a particular erection activity or service. It supports the erection conformance file.

EKErection Conformance FileA file drawn up in accordance with the erection quality control plan requirements relevant with the erection activity to demonstrate compliance with specified requirements. The file includes the certified reports drawn up for an erection activity.

EDEquipment Erection DrawingA document that describes the equipment erection drawing.

SEComplete System Erection DrawingA document that describes the complete system erection drawing.

FBFabrication DrawingA document that describes the equipment fabrication drawing.

PEParts(equipment) drawings with referencesA document that describes the parts erection drawing with references.

11. CIVIL WORK CONTRACT PACKAGE DOCUMENTS

CTTechnical Specification for Civil Work Contract Package A specification drawn up for each civil works contract on a similar basis as the technical specification for equipment procurement, it specifies in particular the specifies in particular the supplies and services, local conditions, technological requirements, documents and inform

CBQuantitative Specification for Civil Works Contract PackageA technical specification with defines for each trade of civil works the main quantities to be used. It specifies in particular the detailed limits of supplies and services taking into account the equipment civil works unit availability state.

WR Civil Work Requisition TableA document with lists items (equipment, products or operations) implemented during works execution. Each item is defined in both quality and contact and then accompanied by a unit price or significant values in order to follow work progress and calculate

CICivil Work and Steel Structure Erection StandardA document with specifies the requirements for the execution and control of civil works and steel structures. This document concerns one type of activity, e. g.: Earthworks Concrete fabrication and implementation Formwork execution and installation Formwork execution and installation

CQCivil Work Quality Control PlanA document setting out the sequence of quality related activities relevant to a particular civil works activity or service.

CK Civil Work Conformance File A file drawn up in accordance with the Civil Work quality control plan requirements for the particular Civil Works activity or service to demonstrate compliance with specified requirements,. This file includes the certified reports made for each civil work.

MSMethod Statement A document which describes the methods proposed in undertaking an element of construction in the field. It will demonstrate to the satisfaction of the customer a safe method of undertaking the activity, temporary lifting proposals, compliance with quality requirements, references to all relevant data and temporary designs as may be required in support of the activity.

12. Erection Contract Package Documents

ETTechnical Specification for Erection Contract Package A specification drawn up for each erection works contract on a similar basis as the technical specification for equipment procurement. It specifies in particular the supplies and services, local conditions, EH&S conditions, technological requirements, documents and information to be exchanged, acceptance conditions and tests. It includes appended documents such as quantitative specifications for trade works execution and works execution procedures.

EBQuantitative Specification for Erection Contract PackageA technical specification which defines for each erection trade the main quantities to be used. It specifies in particular the detailed limits of supplies and services taking into account the equipment delivery status and the scope of erection works.

EJErection job rating table A document which defines the measurement rule for bulk items. The quantities can be used for units price or progress calculation.

EGErection Job Rating Table A document which defines the requirements for the execution of the erection works. This document concerns on type of activity, e.g. : Warehousing Handling Erection activities for each trade Welding Post-erection conservation

EPErection Inspection and Test ProgrammeA document which defines the inspection intervention points for the erection of major items of plant.

13. Commissioning and Operation Documents

TOTurn Over PackageThe turnover of the plant from erection to commissioning takes place according to defined turn over packages.

IPCommissioning Inspection and Test ProgrammeThe inspection and test programme is a quality document regarding inspections and testing of the equipment.
