Project names and primary purpose a) Meridean Barrens: Natural Area protection for this large diverse riparian and upland barrens complex for conservation and recreation purposes. B) Stump Lake parcels: keeping a large block of recreation and high-quality bottomland habitat in Tiffany Wildlife Area available for conservation and recreation purposes. Parcel size, shape and topography: a) The parcel is 562 acres of wetland and upland barrens complex adjacent to DNR’s Dunnville Wildlife Area on the Chippewa River. It contains sand barrens, 1,000 feet of cold water creek, sections of pine plantation, woods and crop lands. b) 461 acres surrounded by Tiffany Wildlife Area, including all of Stump Lake, sections of grassland and floodplain forest; 64 acres of grass, wood and wetland connecting Tiffany Wildlife Are to highway 25. Plan(s) or reports identifying project area as priority: Wisconsin’s Land Legacy Report, Wisconsin’s Statewide Wildlife Action Plan, Lower Chippewa River Important Bird Area, The Upper Mississippi River and Grant Lakes Regional Join Venture Plan, DNR’s Lower Chippewa River Properties Master Plan, and the Dunn County Outdoor Recreation Plan.
