Focal points for licensing systems

Note by the Secretariat1. In paragraph 2 of decision IX/8, the Ninth Meeting of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer decided that, to facilitate the efficient notification and/or reporting and/or cross-checking of information on licensing systems for ozone-depleting substances, each party should inform the Secretariat of the name and contact details of the officer to whom such information and requests should be directed. It also decided that the Secretariat should periodically prepare, update and circulate to all parties a full list of those contact details.

2. In compliance therewith, the Secretariat has prepared a list of names and contact details of those officers (focal points) as at 29 September 2017, which is set out in the annex to the present note. The same list, which has not been formally edited, appears on the website of the Secretariat at the following address: http://ozone.unep.org/en/focal-points-licensing-systems-trade-ozone-depleting-substances-decision-ix82.

3. Of the 197 parties to the Montreal Protocol, 139 have provided information on their focal points and 59 have yet to do so.

4. Parties are encouraged to verify the details of their focal points and to send to the Secretariat any corrections on a regular basis. Any new information or updates in relation to the focal points for licensing systems may be submitted to the Secretariat at the following e-mail address: [email protected].
