When creating the movie there were many aspects of research that had to be covered by members of the crew so that they knew the movie would be a success. There are four types of research techniques that they had to cover. These four are;

Primary Secondary Quantative Qualitative

Using these research techniques they were able to find out what the general public would like and what they want to see in the film.

Primary research is where they will create a questionnaire to find out the research themselves. This will create their own research that nobody will have and then the research is unique.

Some of the methods that are used to find out the information is;

Surveys Secondary Qualitative Quantative

The results that are at the bottom of this page are from my exit poles made for the film ‘a walk amongst the tombstones’. I created a series of questions that will give me the information I need to create my podcast. When I got the exit poles filled in they were mostly filled in by males. This shows the film is mainly appealed by the male gender. However there were some women there. The age group mainly consisted of 15-20 year olds. There were some older people there aging between 36-40. This implies that the films liked by a younger audience, this shocked me as I thought that older people would prefer this film due to the films storyline. The film was very similar to the film taken, this making it appeal to most of the population. This is proven as most of the people went to watch the film because Liam neeson appeled to them. This is something called star theory. People have come to watch the film because they know the actor has made successful films before. Other ways in which they found out about the film was;

TV Advert Radio Advert Word of Mouth Posters The style of the movie Magazine

TV, Radio Word of mouth and posters were all very similar in how people found out about the film. The reason these attracted the target audience is because they knew what put where on the poster and what clips would be most successful in the trailer.
