PES services are based on automatically construct personal environment by controlling surrounding electric machines, using pre-defined and self growing personal preference information, and service right, Slide 4 J.T.Oh and Z.J.Haas, Personal Environment Service for Mobile Users, IEEE VTC Fall, Montreal, Canada, Sept doc.: psc right, Slide 5 Conceptual Diagram for PES Personal Environment Mobile Phone Mobile Comm. This causes inconvenience and cost to users. PES is the integrated service platform of open architecture for the customized and intelligent living environment services with the convergence of mobile phone, equipments, and service server. Many PES services could be supported by WPAN only, but the effectiveness of PES could be expanded dramatically with the convergence of WPAN(WLAN), mobile network, and right, Slide 7 doc.: psc Submission Necessity of PES Intelligent configuration for convenient & comfort human living environment As a person moves to new position, the environment surrounding the one is supposed to be changed. Then the one should resign the ones unique environment or should newly set it up, whenever the one moves. That means, it does not depend on specific WPAN or WLAN. At the initial stage, Bluetooth or WLAN could be used for PES using existing mobile phone or smart phone. At the mature stage, UWB or PSC would be the best solution for the QoS of PES. But it depends on the market situation and needs. The location finding capability of users and equipments, sensors is one of the most important requirements of WPAN/WLAN for right, Slide 13 doc.: psc Submission Definition of PES from ITU-R Machine-to-machine Machine-to-machine communication is a type of service which exchanges data without human interaction, such as remote sensor, remote bio-monitoring and personal environment service. This service may transfer a small size of data traffic in a large number of sessions.
