From Ontario County Journal 26 April 1912 The funeral services of Mrs. Mary Dubler, aged 58 years, whose death occurred at the home of herdaughter, Mrs. William Raymond, Mason street, last Friday, were held from St. Mary's church on Monday morning. He was a veteran of World War I. He had been employed asengineer on the Lehigh Valley Railroad until his retirement in October 1964. He was a member of St. Mary'sChurch, its Holy Name Society, and Turner Schreder American Legion of Shortsville. Survivors are his wifeElizabeth Hillard Dubler, whom he married in 1943; two sisters, Mrs. William (Louise) Raymond of Avon,and Miss Mary Dubler of Rochester; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild, and several nieces andnephews. Friends may call today from 7 to 9pm, and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm at the McElwee andSon Funeral Home where a prayer service will be held Friday at 8:30am followed by a Mass at 9am in St.Mary's Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

14. Amelia 'Emma' Louise VanDeVelde Tollenaere Tanghe (daughter of Amelie Dobbelaere VanDeVelde, Pieter Joannes,Joannes Francies) was born on 15 May 1868 in Schoondyke, Zeeland, Holland. Amelia immigrated on 14 Mar 1872 arriving inthe United States on the day before her 4th birthday. In 1900, she lived in Manchester, Ontario, New York, when her firsthusband died, leaving her a widow at age 33. She had 9 children of which only 5 lived. In 1906, she remarried and had 3children with her second husband, only 2 lived. She died in 1930 of Gull Bladder cancer in NY.

Amelia married (1) Edward Tollenaere in approximately 1886. Edward was born in Holland. He died on 1 Feb 1900 in CliftonSprings, NY, just 3 weeks before the birth of his last child. It is possible that his name was Charles Edward Tollenaere.

From Shortsville Enterprise 21 July 1911 Last week Wednesday afternoon while Frank Dubler, who resided about two miles north of Clifton Springson the A. Jay Short farm, was assisting his neighbor, John Peters, to spray potatoes, he fell from the spraying machine and received such injuries asto cause his death the following Saturday. Mr. Dubler was driving the team and was sitting on the front of the sprayer, when the machine struck alarge stone and the jar was sufficient to knock him from his position. He struck the ground on his head and fell directly in front of one of the wheels,which, instead of passing over him, pushed him along for several feet. His companion stopped the horses as quickly as possible and removed himfrom beneath the machine. Mr. Peters saw that Dubler was seriously injured and telephoned to Clifton Springs for a physician, who found him to beparalyzed and conscious only a portion of the time. His condition grew worse and the next day he was removed to the annex of the sanitarium in thatvillage where an operation was performed in the hopes of saving his life. Everything possible was done to relieve his condition, but he gradually grewworse until Saturday, when death put an end to his terrible suffering. Mr. Dubler was aged 32 years, and had spent nearly his whole life in this


vicinity. He had worked at the factory of the Shortsville Wheel Company for some time and was always a popular young man with his fellowworkmen. His wife is a sister of Gottlieb Walter of East avenue. Beside his wife, he leaves two children, a mother and several sisters and brothers.

Frank married Theresa ‘Daisy’ A Walters Dubler Bunce, daughter of Gottlieb Walters and Margaret (Maggie) Figenscher,both of Germany, on 18 Feb 1901 in Clifton Springs, NY. Daisy was born on 2 Jan 1882 in Rochester New York. Daisyremarried John J. Bunce on 2 Apr 1913 and had two sons, William and Harold. She was widowed again in 1926. Daisy died in1973 in Manchester, Ontario Co, NY. She was buried in 1973 in St Agnes Cemetery Manchester NY with her first husband.

The Rev. Felix J. O'HANLON, priest of the parish, performed the ceremony. A wedding breakfast was served at the home of thebride's brother, George WALTERS. Mr. and Mrs. BUNCE came of Wednesday to their home on a farm near this village. Victor friends extendcongratulations and good wishes.

6 Mar 1973 The Daily Messenger - Mrs. Daisy Bunce- Mrs. Daisy Bunce, 91, of Clifton Springs, died yesterday in the County Home and Infirmaryafter a long illness, She was born in Manchester and lived here for more than 50 years. She was employed by the Clifton Springs Hospital andretired in 1957. She was a member of St. Felix Church and its Rosary Society. Surviving are two sons, William of Seneca Falls and Harold of CliftonSprings. Two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Logan of Victor and Mrs. Elizabeth Donahue of Shortsville; a sister, Mrs. Rose Van Orman of Fairport; sixgrandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Patrick Funeral Home today from 7 to 9pm and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to9 pm. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home tomorrow at 9pm with a funeral service there on Thursday at 9am and from St. Felix Churchat 9:30am.

9 Sep 1974 The Geneva Times -Couple observe 50th wedding anniversary MANCHESTER-SHORTSVILLE —Mr. andMrs. Frank Logan of Victor were guests of honor at a Mass and reception celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. Thespecial Mass was said at St. Patrick's Church in Victor, Saturday, Aug. 30. The couple was honored at a dinner partySunday hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Roger Curran of Shortsville and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Logan, at the Logan home. HaroldLogan and Mrs. Curran are nephew and niece of the Logans. Mrs. Logan is the former Margaret Dubler of CliftonSprings and Mr. Logan was originally from Honeoye. They were married Aug. 30, 1924 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church inVictor. Their attendants were Mrs. Raymond (Rose) Van Orman of Fairport, and the late Raymond VanOrman. Mr. Loganwas employed at Victor Insulator for 12 years and for 23 years at the Veterans Hospital in Canandaigua.For 40 years, the Logans' opened their home to foster children from Monroe County. During that time they were fosterparents to 15 children. Five of the 15 children were able to return home with their families to attend the celebration. Theywere Mrs. Robert (Lena) Glassey of San Diego, Calif., Maurice Flynn of Shortsville, Richard Milianni of Rochester, HaroldMusson of Camp LeJeune, N.C. and James Eosier of Victor. The Logans have eight grand children and three greatgrandchildren.

Margaret married Frank Bernard Logan, son of John Logan of NY with Irish parents and Margaret BLogan of NY with German parents, on 30 Aug 1924 in St. Patricks Church, Victor. Frank was born on 2Mar 1895 in Richmond, Ontario, NY. On his WWI Draft Registration, he was described as short, mediumbuild, gray eyes, brown hair. He served as a Private in WWI. He worked as a farmer. He died on 7 Jun1975 in Victor. He was buried in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Victor.

10 Aug 1939- The Daily Messenger, Canandaigua- Nurses Hold 13th Reunion- Mrs. Alice VanDuyne Dubler, of Manchester, washostess for the 13th annual reunion of nurses graduated from the training school of the Canandaigua Hospital of Physicians andSurgeons (Beaham Hospital) which was discontinued in 1921. Dr. Beaham, one of Canandaigua's leading physicians, founded inJune 1898. In 1903 it was enlarged and the training school established. This closing when the institution was discontinued in1921. 17 Jul 1945 -The Livingston Republic - Captain Eugene T. Donovan, with the 330th Infantry in Europe, husband of Mrs. Verna Donovan of 29 OakStreet, Geneseo has been awarded the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service against an enemy of the United States of America, while actingas Battalion Surgeon, Medical Detachment, during the period of September 3, 1944 to May 8, 1945. During the campaigns of France, Luxembourgand Germany, Captain Donovan has been under intense enemy artillery fire, and small arms fire while visiting front line troops to give them medicalaid, and getting them evacuated. The excellent work of Captain Donovan has materially aided in maintaining a high state of morale among the frontline fighting troops. He is a great credit to himself, and to the service of the United States Of America. Captain Donovan is the son of Mrs. JamesJackson of Oak street, formerly of Sohyea.

21 May 1953 Mount Morris Enterprise - He's Back In The Army Again - Word has been received here that Dr. Eugene T. Donovan of Romulus,Michigan has been recalled to active duty with the Army Medical Corps and has been assigned to Fort Dix, N. J. at the U. S. Army Hospital with therank of captain. A veteran of World War II, Donovan served as Battalion Surgeon with both the 83rd and 99th Infantry Divisions in the EuropeanTheatre of Operations. He participated in the campaigns in Northern France, Ardennes, Central Europe and the Rhineland. For his meritoriousservice he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster Medic Badge and the Purple Heart. He is the son of Mr.and Mrs. JamesJackson of Naples, Florida, who are retired employees of Craig Colony. Captain Donovan is a graduate of Mt. Morris High School, Class of 1934and earned his Medical Degree at the University of Buffalo. He is a member of the American Medical Association and the Michigan Society ofNeurology and Psychiatry. A former resident of Sonyea, he is the only person who has had the distinction of being employed at CraigColony as an attendant and later as a member of the Medical staff. He is married to the former Miss Verna M. Raymond of Canandaigua who wasa member of the Craig Colony Nursing staff. They have four children, Diane, Eugene, Raymond and James.

Finger Lakes Times Saturday, October 1, 1977 Five persons injured in head-on collision CANANDAIGUA - Five persons were injured, fourseriously, in a head on crash on Rt. 96 in the Town of Victor. According to Ontario County Sheriff's Deputies, Wiliam W. New, 32, of Holcomb, wasdriving west on Rt. 96, one-quarter mile from Rt. 251, when he crossed the center line hitting a car driven by Edwin E. Macumber, 57, of 230Prospect Ave., Canandaigua, which was heading east. Macumber and two passengers were taken to Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua. He waslisted in fair condition In the intensive care unit with severe head injuries; Martha Macumber, his wife, was treated for scrapes and released; PhilTinnies, 40, of RD 2, Seneca Falls, was admitted with multiple cuts, scrapes and bruises. New and a passenger, Tina Bryant of Holcomb were takento Rochester's Strong Memorial Hospital where they were listed in fair condition with multiple cuts and scrapes, deputies said. The 11 p.m. accidentis still under investigation, deputies said.

31 Dec 1970 Mrs. Charles Jeffers returned to her duties at the Red Creek Bank after a weeks vacation. She visited her son, George Andross andfamily in Buffalo, and also visited another son, Edward Andross and family in Rochester. Douglas Andross, Edwards youngest son, returnedto Red Creek, with his grandmother, for a few days.

Beulah married (1) Edward B Andross, son of Chester Andross and Maude C Andross. The marriage ended in divorce.Edward was born on 6 May 1918 in Ontario, New York. Ed Andross and Beulah's brother, Harold Dubler were both aviationcadets. Ed graduated and was a second LT and Harold washed out. Haold went on to be a medic in Europe. After the war Edwas a clerk for the city of Canandaigua and Harold worked as a nurse in the vets hospital in Canandaigua. Edward had workedin the supply office for the Veterans Hospital. Later, he was employed as the city clerk in Canandaigua, NY in 1947. Edwardwas a WWII veteran. He died suddenly on 31 Dec 1970 in Newark, NY at age 52. He was buried in Overackers Cemetery,Yates County, NY.

2 Jan 1971 The Geneva Times - Edward B. Andross Sr. NEWARK — Funeral services for Edward B. Andross, Sr., 52, a19-year employee at the Internal Revenue Service office in Newark, will be at 2 p.m. Monday, at the John C. JohnsonFuneral Home in Canandaigua. Burial will be in Overackers Cemetery, Yates County. Mr. Andross died Dec. 31, of aheart attack at his home at 211 Van Dusen St., Newark. Friends may call at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m., andtomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Before coming to Newark, Mr. Andross had been with the VeteransAdministration in Syracuse. Born in East Rochester, he was a veteran of World War II, having served in both the U.S.Army and the Air Force. Mr. Andross also served as Canandaigua city clerk for four years.
