Causes Results1 – After World War II Korea was divided into 2 nations; a Communist North & a non-Communist south. Each wanted to control the other.2 – When North Korea invaded South Korea, the US requested that the United Nations send troops to help.3 – China entered the war to help their Communist neighbors & to protect its borders.

1 – After 3 years of bitter fighting, an armistice (an agreement to stop fighting) was signed that kept the same borders as before the war (38th parallel*)

2 – over 55,000 US troops died.
