We believe that it is so much more. There is always

something new and exciting. Something life changing that is meant for more than just a one time thing or mountain top experience. Something

that is meant to be discovered again and again. With that said, our hope is that the students who participate in this amazing weekend will have a better understanding of what the gospel is and also what it means. Their

lives have a PLAYLIST on repeat and we pray students leave this weekend knowing exactly what kind of sound is amplified from their life!

1) What is Disciple Now? Disciple Now is a weekend specifically intended to disciple students. The students will be staying with an HGBC family in Plano and surrounding area. These are called “Host Homes.” Along with the host home family, each group will have 1-2 college leaders that will lead the small group discussions. On Friday night, Saturday morning, and Saturday evening, students will attend a large group worship service. After this, they will return to their host homes for small group discussions and fun. While discipleship is the main goal of DNOW, we do try and plan some fun activities that will help students build good, Christ-centered relationships.

2) When is Disciple Now? January 18-20, 2019

3) When is Disciple Now over? Sunday after the 11:00am service.

4) How much does it cost? $80 per person // $60 for siblings // $20 for new friends

5) Where do I drop off my student on Friday? -You can drop off your student at the Student Center between 6:30pm and 7:00pm.

6) How do I register? -Fill out the DNOW registration form online(bit.do/hgsmdnow) or in person. -Turn in registration form along with a check (made out to Hunters Glen Baptist Church) or cash to an HGSM Ministry Leader.

7) Where will my students be staying the weekend? -We have several HGBC families that have agreed to be host homes and your students will be at there specific home all Friday night - Sunday morning.

8) How will groups be divided up? -Groups are divided by grade and gender.

9) How many adult leaders will there be per group? -There will be at least one, but possibly two college aged leaders per group depending on size.

10) What should I bring? -clothes for the weekend -toiletries -towel -sleeping bag(and maybe one for a friend who doesn't own one) -pillow -Bible and pen -SNACKS(your own stash and some to share with your group)

11) What should I NOT bring? -Weapons -Drugs/Alcohol -Electronic devices (cell phones are allowed, but not iPods, tablets, etc.) -Anything having to do with pranks... leave it at home -Anything that you think would be taken away or stolen if you brought it :) -Unicorns, lazer beams and crossbows…..Just, yeah…..

12) What about food? Food will be provided, but students are encouraged to bring snacks for themselves and for their small group to share if they want!

H O S T H O M E I N F O“Host Homes” are families at HGBC that have agreed to open up their home for the

weekend of Disciple Now. Here is some information for host homes:

-host homes should expect 6-10 students in the home along with 1-2 leaders in that group. If the number of students goes beyond 10, we will run it by you to see if that’s ok. You have the freedom to say no to any number of students over 10!

-host home families are primarily responsible for simply opening up their home and if necessary providing a means of transportation for the students

-host home families are invited to attend everything that goes on at DNOW weekend but are not obligated to attend anything

-host home families are not required to provide any meals, but may provide snacks/drinks if they feel led. Students should have a decent supply of those goods.

-host home families are responsible for informing the students and leaders of household rules that need to be followed. The leaders can work with the host home family in enforcing the rules.

-host home families are not required to lead any Bible studies or small groups but can participate during these times if the small group leader is good with this.

Opening up your home can be such a blessing to you and a great way for you to serve our church. If you are a host home this year, we literally cannot do this

weekend without you and will never be able to thank you enough for opening up your home to our students!

L E A D E R I N F O A leader at Disciple Now is typically a college or young adult that leads the small groups, helps with transformation, and builds relationships with students. We believe you have the single most influential voice in students lives this weekend. With that, here are several things in regards to being a leader:

-leaders are primarily responsible for leading small group discussions, helping with transportation, keeping the students somewhat in line, and building relationships with the students.

-leaders need to come to Disciple Now having already planned their small groups sessions. We wholeheartedly believe that the more you prepare the more effective you will be.

-we will get the sermon topics along with discussion questions to you before the event happens for you to look over/pray over.

-you have a great deal of flexibility with the sessions! Feel free to use your own creative ingenuity to map out your small group sessions. We are committed to providing you sermon outlines for each of the three talks and discussion questions but you can step outside of this and do different things as well!

-we will have a leader meeting January 18th at 5:30pm to discuss the event in greater detail and discuss any last minute questions!
