Main Square, city of ArequipaBordered by various Arched walkways and the Cathedral, the MainSquare possess a beautiful bronze fountain of three plates crownedby the figure of a sixteenth century soldier. Of this person, who iscalled “Tuturutu”, the story says he was in charge of warning of anynew event. There are otherrooms, or sectors, to visit as well like el Claustro de la Protería (TheGate Cloister). El Museo Precolombino (the pre-ColombianMuseum), el Claustro de San Francisco (the Cloister of Saint Francis),etc.|

Cathedral, city of Arequipa.It is considered one of the first seventeenth centuryreligious monuments of the city. It is built of sillar(White volcanic stones) with a brick base. Destroyedby fire in 1844, it was rebuilt in 1868 by the Arequipaarchitect Lucas Poblete. He used a neoclassical styleand placed the entrances of church on the flankingnaves. In 2001, the building was struck hard by anearthquake, which seriously damaged its towers.

City of SabandiaWide terraces and three volcanoes, The mist, theChancani, and the Pichu Pichu, provide the sceneryaround this traditional town. Some of the houses stillpreserve characteristics styles of the Viceroyalty or ofthe nineteenth century Republicanism. Arecreational area with two swimming pools that usethe cold river waters of the surrounding region hasbeen built.

Yanahuara LookoutIt was built in the nineteenth century and iscomposed of a series of sillar stone arches where thewords of famous Arequipa citizens have beenengraved. This spot is a wonderful view point of thecity and Mount Misti volcano.

Molino de Sabandia (Sabandia Mill)Constructed in 1785, it represents the typicalarchitecture of the zone where the use of sillar stonepredominates. It is characterized by solid supportsand rustic balconies. Stone grinding wheeltechniques for wheat processing can be viewed hereas well

Colca CanyonThis is one o the deepest places on the planet,reaching a depth of 3400 meters / 11.155 feet at thelowest point in the location of Canco. One the rightside, it is flanked by the Cila Cordillera and the otherby Mount Hualca Hualca, Sabancaya and Ampato.You can see Mount Ubinas and beautiful MountCoropuna in the distance.

Imata stone ForestIt is a complex of stone structures that have theappearance of a mysterious petrified forest. Erosionhas shaped the stones, giving them a peculiar aspect.The place is easily accessible since it is located nearthe Arequipa – Juliaca highway.
