DUCTER DLRO-10

To assist operator safety and ease ofuse, the DLRO-10 is supplied with apair of duplex handspikes with 7-ft(2 m) leads. One of the probes is fittedwith two LEDs which duplicate indica-tors on the instrument display indicat-ing that all four contacts have beenmade, the presence of a high voltageacross the load, and the presence of

current flow while an inductive load isdischarging. A full range of test leadsis available with probes, clamps andKelvin clips.

A Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) bat-tery provides the DLRO-10s power.These packs are interchangeable sothat an exhausted battery may be re-charged using the external chargersupplied while testing continues usinga spare pack. Although full chargingwill take 14 hours, a fast charge modeallows the battery to be 90 percentcharged within four hours from a 12 Vbattery or from a standard 120/230 V

ac outlet via the supplied charger. Thebattery pack contains its own batterystate indicator which allows thecharge state to be monitored, withoutbeing connected to the instrument.

APPLICATIONS

The needs for accurate low resistancemeasurement are well known and verydiverse. They range through receiv-ing, inspection of components toground bonding and welded joints.Typical end users include utilities,telecom, railroads, aviation, manufac-turing facilities, and process control

plants. Applications include, but arenot limited to, making dc resistancemeasurements for:

Switch and contact breakerresistance

Busbar and cable joints

Aircraft frame bonds and staticcontrol circuits

Integrity of welded joints

Intercell strap connections onbattery systems up to 600 V peak

Quality control of resistivecomponents

Small transformer and motorwinding resistance

Rail and pipe bonds

Metal alloys welds and fuseresistance

Graphite electrodes and othercomposites

Wire and cable resistance

Battery module features smartcharging circuit, reducing accidentaldamage and cost.

Battery module has a battery condi-tion indicator allowing the user tocheck the state of spare batteries with-out connecting to the instrument.
